I've read exactly what you've said, and I'm pointing out that it is also crystal clear what you are not saying. IF there was a significant threat, IF he was armed, then at what point during the encounter in (which the guy refused to show the cop his hand, refused to show him what was in his pocket, refused to cooperate in any way and was clearly hostile in demeanour) did the cop decide it was then safe to turn his back and walk away? Since you refuse to answer I can only assume that you think the cop acted correctly (if there had been a credible threat), and there was a clear point during the encounter that changed the situation from 'dangerous' to 'safe'. Which is clearly bullshit. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

What edits are there in between him drawing his weapon, demanding to see the guys hand out of his pocket, and then turning his back and leaving without ever finding out if the guy was armed? Yeah, like I said - if the guy has a history of violence and weapons then why was the cop happy to turn his back on him and walk away without ever finding out what was in the guy's pocket? One minute the situation is so dangerous the cop needs to exit his vehicle and approach the guy on his own property with weapon drawn then the next minute, despite the guy being uncooperative and hostile, it's safe enough to walk away? It's bullshit, no matter which way you try and approach it. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

but how does that make sense for the situation? There was somehow a threat so serious that the cop felt the need to step out of his vehicle and approach with his weapon drawn, but at the same time so trivial that he just turned his back on the guy and left when it became clear that the guy wouldn't just roll over? There is absolutely no way of constructing that scenario that makes the cops actions any less ridiculous and unnecessary. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

On the one hand, yeah, there is clearly a history and it would be interesting to know what it was. On the other hand, it doesn't matter a flying fuck to the right or wrong of the cops behaviour. He doesn't get to come onto the guy's property with his gun out demanding to see hands without a clear reason to do so in the immediate present. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

They did. They had absolutely no idea who's car it was and no reason to think it was Dorner's. Therefore, completely random. First, I am not equating the incidents, and I have no idea why you continue to say that apart from making it easier for you to ignore the point if you pretend you don't understand it. I'm amazed at just how desperate you are not to back down on this one. It was at night? Ok, so they had no idea if the vehicle matched the description or not, they just knew it was an SUV (the most popular car type in the US by a country mile, AFAIK) so they started shooting at it. Completely random shooting by cops too scared or gung oh or both to give a shit about the safety of anyone but themselves. (I'm not even going to address the 'newspapers sounded like gunshots' excuse because you have to know that's fucking bullshit) No, which you know isn't the point. It sounds like coming too close to the wrong boys in blue at the wrong time and paying the consequences. Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Side note, I do find it amusing that members of the group who proclaim the first amendment as the sole barrier to government tyranny tend to be the same people telling you that you should always do whatever the hell a cop tells you to do and it's always your own fault if you get shot by one. (Driving a blue Toyota in public when they knew the cops were looking for a grey Nissan - that was just asking for a rain of lead!) Do you want to have an ideagasm?

By that do you mean shooting at a vehicle that met a mass murderer's vehicle description in an area he reported to be in? Yep a mistake, but not a random vehicle. Baaaamp! No, I really don't. I expressly mean (which you should know) shooting at vehicles that did not meet a mass murderer's vehicle description beyond having 4 wheels. And since damn near every car on the road has 4 wheels, yep, that's a random vehicle.
