  1. But conversely society shouldn't be taking the view that 'hey kid, if your parents don't care about you then neither do we'. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  2. And uh, where are Squirrel based again? Anyway, popularity of anything is never a direct indicator of quality. Squirrel make very nice suits now - but their current success is down to a heck of a lot more factors than suit design. Case in point the Colugo1 sold a lot of units but I think most people that flew one would now agree that it had some pretty major flaws. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  3. And to end the needless divisiveness you need a Conservative-in-Chief who is exactly like you and nothing like all the liberals in the country. Because that would be soooo unifying. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  4. And a full 99% of people in the USA are not Muslim. So you've just demonstrated that a disproportionally high number of Muslims are victims of hate crime. Was that supposed to be your point? Do you regularly use statics to lie? No. What are you using those statistics for. What was your point? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

  6. Kids these days I can't reach the toggles in my C2. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  7. Do newspapers pay taxes? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  8. I do disagree with you, because it's not true. In this case, my perception is better than yours because what you are saying is not true. Reality is that these things are either written down or they're not. So, if you are right you are in the position of being able to prove me wrong. Simply find these posts that say every christian believes these things (not just arguments with people like Ron who do believe it) and show that you're right. Simples. I have no idea why that suggestion has made you so angry From my side of the discussion, while it's a logical impossibility to demonstrate that such posts don't exist, I'll say that I'm pretty sure that Wendy is a Christian and has posted about being a regular churchgoer and have you ever seen anyone accuse her of having the faintest hint of a fundamentalist view? Of course you haven't. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  9. Thank you Mr McCarthy for stating the bloody obvious. Some other stuff in there is hilarious - particularly this "Our constitutional principle of religious liberty is derived from the Western concept that the spiritual realm should be separate from civic and political life." That's not a western concept, and it sure as fuck doesn't stem from the bible. For the large majority of the time since the fall of Rome to the present day religion has been present at the highest level of every western government. Seperation of church and state is a modern concept and a democratic concept. But that need to revise history to fit the point instead of having the point flow from history is no more than I'd expect from a dedicated rightwing mouthpiece. (On that note, I found this in their mission statement "Instead of covetously consolidating its premises, the United States seems tormented by its tradition of fixed postulates having to do with the meaning of existence, with the relationship of the state to the individual, of the individual to his neighbor, so clearly enunciated in the enabling documents of our Republic." Now, I'm all for a bit of verbosity every now and then but come on. These people are clearly arseholes.) Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  10. OK, right, here's the thing. Global terrorism is not something that can be directly controlled, nor is a lot of it in your jurisdiction, or your responsibility, or directly affects you. What is in our collective spheres of responsibility, control etc as citizens of our respective nations is the functioning of our apparatuses of government. How you can be so blasé about the widespread corruption and mismanagement among these departments when for any branch of government or civil service other than the police or the military you'd be frothing at the mouth for far, far less is beyond me. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  11. If all it takes for me to 'win' is to ask you where the opinion you claim exists is actually stated... you should probably be a little less concerned with 'losing' than with the fact that your perception genuinely does not match reality. Rush the guy who posts here. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  12. Who said that? Where? When? As far as I can see that comment is as pure a fiction as Rush claiming that liberals think all christians are worse than the worst muslims. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  13. Really? How many? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  14. Huh? Man are you reading anything I wrote? Where did I complain about anything that has been voted on? And through my comments I've made it clear you want something changed you get enough VOTES to change it. What the fuck are you talking about? You made the voting comment in direct reply to a discussion about vocal criticism. How can you vote to stop people criticising you? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  15. I'm pretty sure the fisting was all in the Old Testament. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  16. It's a christmas miracle. Like with the loafs and the fishes. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  17. It's funny. Talk about institutional racism in policing and conservatives just cry 'race card, race card, the suspects are always doing something wrong, you're just looking for an excuse to feel victimised!' Talk about the policing of Police Departments and conservatives cry 'they're not doing anything wrong, it's all political! You're just victimising us!' It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. So to quote our frequent conservative commentators on here - Ferguson PD is no Boy Scout. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  18. Does it sound worse if you say it's 35 police departments that have jurisdiction over more than twenty million american citizens? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  19. If it seems that way to you it's because that's what you want to read. 'Cos dude, that ain't what's being written. According to jakee!! Yes according to me. And against the "According to Rush" view that people on this forum think that a normal christian is worse than a radical Islamist (and I assume you mean terrorist) then it's pretty obvious that 'according to me' is reality and 'according to you' is fiction. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  20. If it seems that way to you it's because that's what you want to read. 'Cos dude, that ain't what's being written. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  21. For a minute there I was about to celebrate your road to Damascus moment, but then I saw the "acording [sic] to you". Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  22. Hitler. Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  23. I know that's a flippant remark but it makes you sound either incredible sexist, incredibly republican, incredibly ignorant or some combination of all three. This is a woman who has been among other things congressional counsel, partner at a sizeable law firm, on the board of directors of some of the biggest companies in America, a two term Senator and the Secratary of fucking State - yet the sum total product her life and career is reduced to how good she is at sex. Dude. Seriously? Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  24. Is that enough to make it a great post though? Sure it works as a potted comedic rant but in terms of making a point the logic just isn't there. 1) I imagine myself as an atheist prick. This is in response to an invitation to try and see things from the perspective of the other side. That invitation is clearly rejected. That's not something you're supposed to like. 2 taking que from the likes of Dick Dawkins and historical militant atheism. Yes, Dawkins has, unfortunately, descended into a kind of caricature of himself. But histoical militant atheism? From Coreece's recent posts I'm going to assume this means actual militant anti-religious activities such as those from the Soviet Union and the Khmer Rouge. But hang on - who in the modern debate is taking their cue from those people? Where are the militant atheists? These days anyone who so much as opens their mouth in favour of a secular society is branded a militant atheist but that doesn't mean you can say 'and therefore Stalin', does it? 3) I decide to become peacefully agnostic minding my own... As a Christian Coreece isn't minding his own any more than anyone else here does if he feels he's being criticised or infringed upon, so why would he if he wasn't Christian? Unless he's arguing than becoming an atheist would lead to an improvement of his character, which I'm pretty sure wasn't the point 4) fucking blissful ignorance Although I know he didn't mean it that way, there's plenty of times you'd jump in if someone said the other side was fucking ignorant. Hiking and jump in the mountains every day this summer probably had a positive effect on my psyche. I'm back working for the winter season though so we'll see how it goes Do you want to have an ideagasm?
  25. Voting? You were bitching about "people that really get spun up about religion come across as very liberal, live and let live - unless it's me and my belief in Christ". I don't see what that had to do with voting. But if you think laws are being voted for and passed that infringe your beliefs then hey, your reply to me applies equally to you. Get more votes or get over it. (It actually doesn't apply to either of us because it's a fundamental misconception of how your government works, but whatever) Do you want to have an ideagasm?
