Have you ever looked for the good inside Nancy Pelosi? -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations

Are you sure though? Because when he said he was being sarcastic he was definitely lying. When he said he'd had an idea that you could disinfect and self-tan the inside of people's lungs he was being serious. Bill's right, it is a really tough job being a Trump apologist! -

Turtlespeed: Even if he's spouting dangerous, ill-informed nonsense why can't you give him credit for his pure intentions? Trump: I was just being a dick to some reporters I hate. -
Although - If you are going to create a viral image of #KimJongUn and claim it to be ‘leaked on a Singapore news network’ it would rather help to not have the strap line in Japanese.

Trump has been trying to bash Amazon (read - Jeff Bezos personally) with the USPS stick for years. In 2018 he said they were 'scamming' the USPS by getting them to deliver packages at a loss. He commissioned a taskforce to investigate and they said it wasn't true. Trump Said Amazon Was Scamming the Post Office. His Administration Disagrees. Funny thing is at that point he only wanted them to double the rates they charge to Amazon and similar companies. Seems a little random to have jumped to quadrupling in the space of two years. Almost like he's pulling numbers out of his ass.

COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations

Would almost be believable, except you're sticking to the same stupid argument and saying the same stupid things to people who aren't insulting you. Why do it? Why continue defending the most insane and dangerous things Trump says even after Trump himself has disowned the comments? -
My favourite bit of that (paraphrasing) - Trump to reporter: I was talking to you, I was looking at you when I said it. Reporter: No you weren't. I wasn't there. Trump: <Turns to other reporter> I was looking at you! Other reporter: No, you were looking at Dr. Birx. So trustworthy. So very trustworthy

COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Nah. That's the same mistake people make who claim Trump is the master puppeteer of the media and all his outrageous shit is a co-ordinated master plan. Turtle really is just too stubborn and dishonest to extricate himself from a losing argument. -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Oh what a great post this is. So Turtle - Trump now claims his intent was to be "very sarcastic" to a group of hostile fake news media when he suggested injection or internal use of disinfectant. How do you now rationalise every post you've made on the subject since yesterday's briefing? -

Look in the mirror. It is your hatred of any media or commentators you perceive to be to the left that is colouring your ability to be fair minded. Because they criticise him, you must defend him because you hate them too much to be able to agree. If only you could free yourself of your bias and hatred you wouldn't have to be here saying such dishonest and stupid things. -
And an entirely predicted result of the person you are defending going on TV spouting the ludicrous bullshit you are defending.

COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
I'm wondering what other kinds of virus killing things Turtle would be happy to see experimented with. I mean, you can burn viruses and it will destroy them. If Trump had said something like "Right. And then I see the fire, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by dowsing with petrol or almost a blowtorch. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me." I wonder what analogies Turtlespeed would have come up with then to explain why setting body parts on fire is actually really similar to established medical procedures like cauterisation and therefore well worth investigating. -

I have absolutely no idea, and have made no comments remotely related to the subject. Your post is both dishonest and a non-sequitur. -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
So you've decided to just be stupid. You've decided not to put one single ounce of critical thought into this, you're just going to blindly support Trump and oppose the leftists no matter how ridiculous the shit you have to say to do it. Why embarrass yourself like this? What do you get out of it? -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations

I didn't say he was. Yet again, you fall back on lying in your attempts to defend the indefensible. I'm not joking, you should be ashamed and embarrassed right now. -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
And yet when it comes to Trump you give him the benefit of every doubt while not using any critical thinking to understand what he is saying. Once again, UV kills basically every virus there is. Disinfectants kill many types of virus (some are extremely resistant) including all flu viruses. You can carry on with these stupid comparisons with Chemo all you want but do you seriously think that if you could use these things as treatments for people that we wouldn't already be doing it for everything fucking else? -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
No. You are flat out wrong. Absolutely and completely wrong. The person he was speaking to was Bill Bryan, who gave a presentation on, as I've already told you, the effect of UV and disinfectants on Coronavirus on surfaces and in saliva. The effects of those things on reducing transmission and exposure. Trump came up with the idea of testing on people all by himself. Bill Bryan absolutely did not make the suggeston to Trump that this would be a future test. First, Trump's own words when he came back to the podium were "So I asked Bill a question". Trump thought of it, it was not presented to him. 2nd, to be absolutely clear, a journalist asked for clarification on this point during the following Q&A. Here it is: Q But I — just, can I ask about — the President mentioned the idea of cleaners, like bleach and isopropyl alcohol you mentioned. There’s no scenario that that could be injected into a person, is there? I mean — ACTING UNDER SECRETARY BRYAN: No, I’m here to talk about the findings that we had in the study. We won’t do that within that lab and our lab. I am genuinely amazed right now that you are not fucking ashamed of yourself. You should be embarrassed at the new depths of dishonesty you are plumbing, even for you. -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
We already know that people died from poisoning themselves thinking they were following Trump's advice on Hydroxychloroquine. Given that you agree the suggestion of disinfectant treatment is complete bullshit, and given that we have already seen that there are people out there who are credulous enough to follow his medical suggestions, how can you still defend what he said? I guess you're looking down on those people and figuring they're just too stupid to live. Nice one. -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
It is a flat out lie to say the headline of the article is misleading. "Don’t Inject Disinfectants, Lysol Warns as Trump Raises Idea" Trump absolutely, 100% positively did raise the idea of injecting disinfectant as a treatment for Covid-19. Lysol absolutely have warned against injecting disinfectants in response to Trump's speech. There is nothing misleading about the headline. There is nothing biased about it. It is ludicrously biased for you to be here defending Trump on this and repeatedly lying in order to do so. -
COVID-19: Astroturfing the "reopen" demonstrations
jakee replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
No, that's not true. It is obvious that no-one is testing using UV light and disinfectant on people as cures for Covid-19. It is obvious that Trump was briefed on studies of the effect of UV light and disinfectant on the transmission of the virus, i.e. killing it when it is on surfaces or in saliva droplets (this is the information he was presenting when he went on his tangent). It is obvious that he, himself, all on his own, decided that it would therefore be a good idea to investigate the internal application of UV light and disinfectant on human people. The reason this is obvious is because he stood up behind a podium in the White House and he fucking said so. Why is it that you're up here defending him against purported misrepresentation before you've even found out what he said? Is it your desperation to always find a way to argue against the biased leftist commentators, is it your sheer laziness, or is it a combination of the two? UV light of sufficient intensity kills pretty much anything that has the capacity to infect you. Viruses, bacteria, funguses, parasites, everything. Some are more vulnerable, others less, but fundamentally it will kill everything. Even if you can't see the prima facie stupidity of suggesting direct UV exposure to internal tissue as a cure, can you not take the moment to stop and think before commenting as to why it is that UV is not already used as a cure for everything infectious, if it was possible to use it as a cure for Covid? Again, why are you so desperate to defend Trump that you can't even engage the most basic logic circuits before spouting off? -
Editing the video makes absolutely no difference. Whether you play the whole thing or just a few snippets what he said was reckless, dangerous and, at this stage of the game, unbelievably moronic and ignorant of any basic medical knowledge. I mean honestly, he'll have been getting daily reports on this for months, it's been almost an all consuming issue since early March and he still thinks it would be interesting to try cleaning people's lungs with disifectant? There is no positive spin you can put on this.
-
You're doing it again. Stop lying. Nigel didn't say Trump suggested that people should inject disinfectant. he said that injecting disinfectant, or getting it onto the lungs is something that would be interesting to check. That is an utterly ludicrous, incredibly stupid claim that will at best waste a lot of doctors' time as they have to deal with people coming to them asking if they should be injecting or inhaling disinfectant. Bear in mind also that the former head of the Federal agency tasked with investigating cures for Coronavirus is currently alleging that he was fired for pushing back against Trump's last set of overblown claims about Hydroxychloroquine. So now you have Trump up there spouting more dangerous nonsense while surrounded by people who know they're going to have to walk on eggshells if they're going to try and bring reality back into the message.
-
Imagine what he'd be suggesting if he didn't have a very good you-know-what!
-
Fucking hell. I was absolutely 100% sure you just made this one up to feed the punchline but nope, there it is live from the West Wing. Shine light inside people and clean the lungs with disinfectant. Amazing. I genuinely can't wait to see how Turtle is going to dismiss this one as pointless Trump-bashing.
