They would quite correctly be called out as incredibly racist. Commenting on the shade of makeup that Trump uses is not racist. Trying to equate the two is indeed an outrageous double standard.
-
Two things. First, orange isn't Trump's skin colour. It's the colour of the stuff he chooses to put on his skin. There's a small but important difference between choosing to use an unnatural quantity of spray tan and being born black. I'll leave it to you to figure out what it is. Second, I don't recall anyone here making direct remarks about his skin colour, several of them did peddle the racist conspiracy theories that he was either foreign born or a Muslim, and they did this because he was black. Again, see the difference? Because Trump paints himself orange, people laugh at him. Because Obama was born black, people accused him of lying about his religion and claimed he was an illegitimate president.
-
Probably not. What I found interesting was that the two nations most directly threatened by NK, South Korea and Japan, said two completely different things. South Korea said they hadn't seen any indications of abnormality in the high command, Japan said they thought he was in a coma. Seems like everyone's still just poking around in the dark trying to figure out any of what goes on in there.

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998

It's hilarious considering your habit of demeaning anyone else who would bring Trump into a thread out of nowhere, yet here you are doing it again. -
Should Biden Get the Nomination in Light of an Apparent Sexual Assault
jakee replied to DJL's topic in Speakers Corner
First, Jerry is just one person and not 'the left'. Second, It's easy to say as a hypothetical but I'm approximately 100% sure he wouldn't do it in reality. On the other hand Trump, a well known criminal and self avowed sexual predator and serial assaulter of women was in fact elected. So there you have it, the gaping moral void of the right in one vote. -

Is there nothing you can't turn into a discussion of Trump? Why are you so obsessed? -
Easy, that's just shooting from the hip. You can't judge him merely on a vast multitude of extremely similar statements - they were all made in the heat of the moment, that's totally unfair. Not like that one photo of Hillary, clearly her expression in that single instant defines her entire character.
-
You just described an entire swathe of the electorate as sheeple and you're accusing me of wanting to feel superior? Wake up, dude. And that's what I want. I don't want to defeat you (though non-ironic use of the word sheeple in a discussion about arrogance cannot be taken any other way), I want you to open your eyes and see the world as it is. Though since in the Covid thread you just started erroneously arguing against your own source as soon as you realised it didn't say what you wanted it to, there's obviously a lot of work to do there.

Not too keen on the blue dining room and some of the upholstery is a little too avant gard for me but overall yeah, looks like taste is just another thing she does far better than Don. Thanks for pointing it out. And by the way, she earned what she used to buy that place, Don inherited. He's born into the modern elite aristocracy, she's the working woman made good.
-
He's the only person who can defeat Isis. No-one knows more about trade deals than him. No-one knows more about nuclear policy than him. No-one knows more about immigration than him. He's like, really smart and a very stable genius. No president has ever been healthier than him. No president has ever been more presidential than him, except maybe Lincoln. No one knows more about the political system than he does. He alone can fix the political system. If you don't believe Trump is arrogant then you've clearly never listened to him speak. Ah yes, the true sign of someone who knows he has nothing worthwhile to say. I accept your concession of defeat.
-
That's not true. Most people who are symptomatic will not need treatment - not sure what the exact rules are around you but here normal people who develop symptoms are absolutely advised to self isolate - stay at home and wait it out. Most people with Covid 19 symptoms should not go to a doctor or a hospital. You should only seek help if you are classed as at risk, develop more serious symptoms, or the illness continues without subsiding for 7 days. There may well be massive numbers of those.
-
Yes - and that's exactly why the map that you posted, that Ashish Jha designed, does not do that. The map that you posted does indeed base the number of tests required on the size of the outbreak in each state. As such, the map that you posted shows that Ohio is 11k tests per day behind a 14.5k test per day target.
-
That map says that Ohio should perform ~14,500 test per day, and is ~10,800 below that target. Not sure what your definition of 'pretty good' is.
-
But remember that Ohio has had quite a strict lockdown, and when it was announced you said something along the lines of 'let's hope it works'. Well, if you're now seeing relatively low levels of infection and death then it looks like the lockdown has been working. But to take the view that 'hey the lockdown works and we're currently low risk so we can lift the lockdown and everything will be fine' doesn't make sense. If you open everything back up and then you do end up hitting those projections, just 45 days later then what have you gained from all the hardship?
-
Ok, but her arrogance clearly still bothers you, and that you think she is 'ruling class'. As mentioned, Trump is far more arrogant, far more of a ruling class elite than Clinton and he is both President now and running for election to be President. Doesn't that also bother you?
-
He is the current President. Why are you focused on Hillary? She isn't the current anything.
-
Then I'm pretty sure you must be able to find examples of right wingers being banned only for using the word 'snowflake'?
-
Nonsense. Trump exemplifies arrogance both in the way he talks to people, the way he claims unmatched ability in just about any field you care to mention and the way he dealt with Congressional enquiries. And class? Hillary was the daughter of a self made small business owner, Trump was born into a billionaire family and is the 3rd generation of Trump real estate moguls. He is the ruling class. He is everything that is meant as a pejorative when people moan about 'the elite'.
-
Well, clearly it isn't. The DoJ docs appear to show the agents and counsel involved being very careful to ensure that they weren't doing anything to contravene Bureau policy, even to make sure it wouldn't appear to contravene policy. Ironically it's those very exchanges 'If we're going to do this, are we sure it's ok?' that the right is using to somehow claim they were knowingly doing stuff that was not ok.
-
Eh? I know you don't pay much attention to what is actually said but surely it hasn't escaped even your notice that this is the standard Trump supporter's play on this forum. When you get to the point that you simply can't think of any more ways to defend his nonsense, claim he did it on purpose to distract the media from something else. By the way, it's also a bizarre suggestion that I can't conceive that anyone would spin things to their own view of things when I've just spent the last week calling you out on the lies that you've been telling while trying to spin things to your point of view. Again, I just can't understand how you've managed to miss that.
-
I give until the start of the week for someone to claim Trump was really playing the media deliberately, and by tricking them into writing about how stupid his comments were he was actually making himself look good and therefore winning. Somehow.
-
Why do you think it wasn't a well thought out thing to say? You believe that the research he was suggesting is a good idea, even though he himself has attempted to dismiss it as sarcasm, and you don't believe anyone is stupid enough to cause themselves harm by misinterpreting it. So why is it that you think it wasn't well thought out? No it hasn't. The media has reported it accurately. You can only make the case that they blew it out of proportion by lying about their coverage.
-
Where's your evidence of all these people saying he suggested people inject themselves? And how ridiculous is that? That a statement so moronic and unnecessary at face value was also unclear enough that it could be interpreted in an even stupider way? This is the behaviour you're willing to trample all over your own honesty and integrity in order to defend?
-
Right - because he, like you, hates to admit he was lying.
-
The first of those links is from Fox news. Even they admit that he did actually lie. What is your specific source for the claim that he did not lie?
