Because I don't think jokes about his spray tan are the same thing as systemic anti-semitism in the early 1940s I must hate him? Does that really make sense inside your head? By your logic, your denial of any racist element in the conspiracy theories against Obama means you must still be holding onto truly incandescent rage against him. It's been years, dude. Time to let go and rejoin reality.

Should Biden Get the Nomination in Light of an Apparent Sexual Assault
jakee replied to DJL's topic in Speakers Corner
If you think he was only being sarcastic why did you try and defend the point he was making? -
Of course not, that's why you can't keep your arguments straight, why you make such absurd comparisons, why you throw around accusations of 'deep problems' - it's because you are so very calm. Of course, you keep insisting that Trump is the victim of dehumanising racism just like the Jews in the ghetto because of jokes about his spray tan, and just keep insisting you never saw any posting against Obama here that could possibly have been tinged with racism. That'll show everyone just how calm and reasonable you are.

Should Biden Get the Nomination in Light of an Apparent Sexual Assault
jakee replied to DJL's topic in Speakers Corner
Do you not see the difference between saying something that was obvious hyperbole (since clarified to be so), and actually doing something? If Biden really raped a bunch of women, Jerry would not vote for him. Republicans did vote for Trump, knowing what he is and what he claimed to be. What is more telling, actions or words? -
The problem is yours. You said that making fun of Trump's fake tan was like anti-semitic propaganda from the '30s and '40s, and you said you equate making fun of Trump's fake tan to making fun of Michelle Obama's physique and that it is childishand immature. If you meant both comparisons, there you are. Look, I'm sure that now you've had time to calm down you can't believe you did anything so bloody stupid as compare jokes about fake tan with the pervasive racism that lead to one of the worst genocides in history, but lashing out isn't the way to fix that. Just do what any normal person would and retract it. Otherwise you can attempt to antagonise and belittle all you want, but what you said is still out there.
-
Yes, just yes. The double standard of outrage you've had to apply to try and cling to your point is mind bending. The degree to which you have tried to trivialise one of the worst examples of systemic racism in history in order to try and associate it with jokes about bad spray tan is utterly despicable. All while dismissing and defending the real, tangible racist conspiracy theories levelled against the previous president because of the natural colour of his skin. Do youself a favour and be reasonable for once before you get too comfortable down there with the purveyors of hatred and discrimination.
-
Which non-humans have you ever seen use fake tan? I'll wait. You equated anti-semitic propaganda shortly before the holocaust to 'childish' behaviour, and sarcastically dismissed denying a devout person's religious beliefs as something that would merely 'hurt someone's feels' - while maintaining that jokes about spray tan are more serious. Look in the mirror bro, your defence of systematic hatred in this thread is despicable. But don't take my word for it, go to your nearest synagogue and try telling them that calling Trump the Mango Mussolini (Mussolini also human, by the way) is the same as European anti-semitism just before the Final Solution. See where that gets you.

Ok, why is seriously calling someone a KKK member (a horrible, despicable thing to be) not dehumanising, why is claiming that someone who has Christianity as a central part of their identity isn't really a Christian not dehumanising, but making fun of someone's bad makeup is dehumanising? What is the difference? Why does poking fun at someone's makeup dehumanise them, but claiming that one of the pillars of their own self-identification is a lie does not dehumanise them? Which way around is this? Trump using bad makeup is his problem, or people claiming Obama is secretly following a different religion is his probem?
-
Ok, so it's wrong to make fun of Trump making himself orange because it hurts his feeling and dehumanises him. Right. So if you take a fairly devout religious person and claim that they are not a follower of that religion, have always lied about it and in fact secretly follow a completely different religion, do yu not think that could fall into the category of things that are hurtful and dehumanising?
-
And you also said it was like the propaganda against the Jews in the 1940s. To be honest, I think it's worrying that you would attempt to minimise the anti-semitic wave that lead to the holocaust as being merely 'childish', but maybe that's just me.

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998
jakee replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
That makes no sense. The similarity you keep avoiding is that you keep bringing Trump into threads for no reason. According to you, you're obsessed. -
It is, but so are most common colds, and they're not a very good comparison either. Sars wasn't stopped because we dealt with it any better, it was stopped becase it's far, far easier to stop. Generally speaking you only catch Sars through exposure to someone who is seriously ill. These people are easy to isolate and trace. You catch Covid-19 from exposure to anyone who has it. Globally Sars wasn't dealt with any better than the current pandemic, in fact several major public health failings were exposed. Like with anything else though, because we got away lightly it didn't seem particularly important to fix those failings. Like with skydiving or any other risky activity, a massive potential learning opportunity unfortunately becomes another step in the normalisation of deviance.

He'd be doing pretty well right now if the objective was confusion instead.
-
You said "below are the statements you made that I disagree with" You then proceeded to quote the statements that Trump is not naturally orange and Obama was definitely born a US citizen. Ergo, you clearly stated you disagree with them. If you want to clarify exactly what you do or don't disagree with, please feel free but at the moment I can only go by the statements you have made, and that was it. And seriously, what was the thing with the chocolate bar? What on earth was that supposed to mean?
-
Yes, that's what I said. ...? Obviously not because, well, see above. Sounds like you're trying to take picking a fight way too far.
-
No, that's not a logical inference from my post. If you said he was definitely exposing US intelligence sources in NK then I think you would be judging him unfairly, but you haven't yet said that.
-
Right, so you're claiming Obama isn't definitely American and Trump is genetically orange. Put that alongside your posting a link to a Kenyan chocolate bar called 'The chocolate bar' as if it has any relevance to what we're talking about and it seems like you're seriously losing it.
-
Obviously. Although if you lie to the FBI with your lawyer present they're going to use it all the same. The lawyer would probably have been smart enough to tell him to shut up altogether though. Funny thing is the documents make clear that if he hadn't lied they were planning to send his Logan Act breaches to the prosecutors anyway. They went with the lying because it was a simpler case and slam dunk prosecution. Imagine that, law enforcement trying to save government time and taxpayer money by sending an easier case to the courts and the Republicans still find a way to have a problem with it.

Most other black politicians haven't run for President. The only reason any of it stuck or took off was because he was black. Two white parents, one of them from Europe whose own dad was a muslim and there is not a snowball's chance in hell the racist right like Limbaugh, Jones and Trump would have been able to spread it like they did.
-
What exactly do you disagree with? Are you saying that Obama isn't definitely a natural born citizen or that Trump is naturally that colour? Either way it's a pretty extreme length to go to just so you can pick an argument. That you're happy to associate with the racist fringe rather than be on the same side of anything as me is quite telling.
-
I've given a solid, rational explanation of why it doesn't seem like Trump has given anything away. Compare it to the outrageous lies and utter nonsense you've peddled in multiple threads recently just so you can argue with me and anyone else here to the left of you and I'm quite happy with my position. By the way, for all your posts bemoaning about how you claim that everyone else is just looking for any excuse to judge Trump unfairly, it's quite indicative of your hypocrisy that as soon as someone doesn't judge Trump you find a way to paint it as a negative.
-
Yes, equating making fun of someone's makeup with racism is a double standard. He is and always was absolutely and undoubtedly a natural born citizen, just like every other presidential candidate. The reason it was brought up for him and none of the others is because he's black. Being orange is not a physical characteristic of Trump. That's not his real skin. Furthermore, the class of people who are really bad at personal styling is not going to be found alongside any protected class such as those of Jewish descent. Being black is, yet you seem to have no problem with the attempts made to make Obama seem un-American because he was black. You should do something about that double standard before it starts looking too ugly on you.
-
Trump puts Kenyan candy on his face and you're saying it's immoral to make fun of that? You are a strange man.
-
I highly doubt it, because of the three things you just said two of them are not true. One of them is precisely backwards and the other represents the opposite of what he did. Also, recall that Obama Sr left when Barack was 3. Not really much of a basis for making assumptions on his religion, it was definitely the being black thing. Also, recall that one of Obama's oponents was actually really for sure not born in the USA, and no-one gave a toss because he was white.

Sure, and South Korea were publically, officially, saying the same thing. So it doesn't seem like he was giving away anything that shouldn't be given away this time. I don't think the South Koreans would ever be that reckless when it comes to there neighbour.
