Everytime he gets up to speak it's just word salad. Just a broken stream of consciousness, like the world's worst beat poet.

New "Cannonball Run" Record Allegedly Set During COVID-19 Shutdown
jakee replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
Nope. Hawthorn was the first English world champ but he did it in a Ferrari (and died in a road accident shortly afterwards). Graham Hill was the second English world champ and did it for BRM, an English team, in 1962. The same year that Moss suffered the crash and injuries that forced him to retire. More relevant to this thread, Moss won the Mille Miglia road race, 992 miles on Italian provincial roads, at an average speed of 99mph in 1955! -

Should Biden Get the Nomination in Light of an Apparent Sexual Assault
jakee replied to DJL's topic in Speakers Corner
No, most of us did not habitually assault women as teenagers. Side note, you must have had some fucking horrendous judgement in terms of choosing your friends and associates back then if you thnk that's true. Side side note, I didn't realise that 'hasn't gone to jail' was the gold standard for choosing Supreme Court justices. Hell, why bother having confirmation hearings if all you need to do is check to see if they've got a criminal record? -
That is frickin' amazing.

Isn't that how it's supposed to work? A majority of Democrats choose the Democrat nominee. Cool!
-
Then all Democrats conspired to stop Democrat primary voters from being able to nominate Bernie Sanders?

The classrooms which don't need to be prepared right now because the teachers aren't using them. So why does she need to be there?
-
Ask him what it is they want a teacher's assistant doing at a closed school with no teachers.
-
That's not what Mark's OP is about. In fact, he clearly already agreed with the point you're making.
-
Sounds like chinese whispers. If the school is closed why do they want a TA to come to work?

Of course they protect. Like with every other measure no-one is saying it is complete protection, but it reduces the risk of transmission. In this case, the mask doesn't have to stop viral particles getting through, it just has to reduce the amount of saliva and mucus particles you expel into the air. This will reduce the potential exposue to the virus of everyone around you. Hopefully some people can use it as a memory aid to stop touching their faces as much. Sure there are people out there that will keep moving them to itch or talk or put lipstick on or whatever, but they'd be doing that anyway. Everyone that doesn't do that because they have a mask on is a benefit. Like washing your hands. Is it perfect? Of course not. Sooner or later you will touch your face after touching a public surface, or touch a surface after touching your face. However if you are diligent about washing your hands as much as possible you will greatly reduce those potential transmissions. If everyone does it Covid won't be stopped dead, but it will be significantly slowed. Like staying 2 meters away from people. Will it definitely stop you being infected or infecting someone via airborne particles? No, but it will reduce the likelihood that it happens. If everyone stays 2 meters away from people from other households Covid won't be stopped dead, but it will be significantly slowed vs going around shaking hands, hugging or kissing the cheeks of everyone you meet with.

China 'willfully inflicted coronavirus upon the world'
jakee replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
Because they're not clairvoyant? Seriously, what do you want from them? When the Chinese were saying they didn't know if nCov was human-human transmissable how was the WHO supposed to know otherwise? When the WHO were first made aware of a new disease in Wuhan how were they supposed to know it was going to become a PHEIC? You think they somehow knew this was coming, way back then, and simply decided not to bother fulfilling their role, the entire reason for their existence in the first place? Nevermind that they'd been warning that the global risk was high even when there were only a handful of cases in southeast asia outside of China. Similarly, why would they declare it a pandemic before it actually was a pandemic? It absolutely doesn't mean they weren't making it clear how serious it was. Honestly, what is your point here criticising the WHO for not stating things that they didn't actually know at the time? What would it have changed? Trump apparently didn't believe them and you certainly didn't believe them when they were warning how serious it would be with the facts they did have access to. Be serious for a moment, even if they did have a crystal ball and warned that this was coming back when Coronavirus was just a regional disease in China you would have been having a field day calling them all kinds of overhyped know-nothing fearmongers. -
It's also hardly started. Something tells me that within a month you'll be back telling us that you understand more than anyone else how serious this downturn is going to be because your sister's an economist.

The Road to Coronavirus Hell Was Paved by Evangelicals

Absolutely not. He's a despicable human being who'll say anything to stay relevant to his flock of morons. Still though, truth is truth. -

Not real. -
If you have even the remotest awareness of context you'd see that's exactly what he's saying.

Here's another phenomenal combination of malice and idiocy. Somehow, there seems to be a moronic conspiracy theory doing the rounds and being spread by some clueless celebrities and 'influencers' that Coronavirus is either caused or excerbated by... the new 5G mobile data network . Some other antisocial dickheads have then taken to enciting the terminally gullible fucknuggets into burning down their local 5G masts in order to fight the virus. And it's actually, really happening, and this isn't a joke. Ironically one of the earliest adopters of 5G capabilities has been the emergency services, with things like live video uplinks from paramedics so they can get real time assistance when attending critical cases. The kind of thing that's probably quite helpful right now. Oh well, at some some worthless trolls are having a giggle because they persuaded a bunch of imbeciles to go out and burn the world for them.

If only. One of the very first things to happen when the outbreak started accelerating here was fake good samaritans going door to door to the elderly and vulnerable offering to get their shopping so they didn't have to be exposed to infection in the supermarkets, and instead stealing the cash or card details they were given. That's why the current stream of glossy movies and TV shows about conmen who exemplify cool and are like Robin Hood types taking from nasty guys who totally dserve it really annoys me. Real life scammers and grifters are the lowest of the low exemplifying nothing but cowardice, gaping abcesses of anti-morality targeting those who can least afford to lose.

CDC: People should now wear some form of face mask in public. Trump. Oh don't worry, that's totally voluntary, you don't have to. I won't! White House: Everyone who meets Trump will be tested first. What a great example for Trump to set for ordinary people - no need to worry about wearing a mask, just make sure every person you have contact with has tested negative for Coronavirus, simple! That's right up there with Boris "Of course I'll keep shaking hands... Oh bugger I've got Covid-19" Johnson for useful advice.

There were a whole bunch of posts about the stupid spring breakers and other people going to the beaches. I'm not quite sure how you figured that criticising them means being ok with it.
