  1. You realise that fictional characters (being fictional and all) have no agency and the very concept of forcing them to do anything makes no sense? So, what exactly do you think you're doing except for proving the intolerance of the anti-woke movement? Why are they trying to cancel the owners of those characters simply because they disagree with the plot decisions that were made?
  2. I have no idea who my ancestors of 250 years ago were, let alone 2500 and I don’t particularly care. You’re not stuck with anything. And yet there is one, and it is also entirely optional. Wooooooooosh.
  3. That’s not exactly true. Best I can tell he admits that the Torah is fucked up but it’s ok because no one takes it seriously. Not even hardcore Rabbi’s honest! Where’s the Koran is fucked up and that’s an unsolvable problem and anyone who follows any part of it must be just as fucked up. Im not sure if it’s better or worse.
  4. But as you so recently pointed out, almost no one is really woke. If the Jewish religion is just as bad and there are more of them, why don’t you spend all day every day complaining about that instead?
  5. Because of one person? In that case straight people are cool with it too. Why aren’t you here ranting about how perverted straight people are? Maybe because there’s no logic, no reason, no thought whatsoever behind your position - you’re just a closed minded bigot.
  6. I didn’t say anything was an absolute. She did. I don't mean to say her philosophy is the best philosophy out there, but it is, in many ways, self consistent and interesting to consider in the abstract. In reality (as her own life demonstrates) it has some deficiencies. You’ve just explained away a massive apparent inconsistency by saying words don’t mean anything. That doesn’t fill me with confidence.
  7. It also protects them from the irresponsible actions of others. So when you take away the government to let people govern themselves, by what means do you think they will decide to protect themselves? What kind of processes and structures will the new self governors agree to put in place to pool their governing power?
  8. Are you sure? If every man is a sovereign nation solely concerned with his own happiness then why is productive achievement noble? Productive for whose sake? What is production in this context? Then reason as his only absolute? What about his wife? What about his family? The lengths we go to for the people we love can never be justified by pure reason until we accept that other people are as or more valuable to us than we are. (This point is moot if Rand doesn’t believe in monogamy or traditional family units - does she?) Edit; and it’s just occurred to me you might mean you simply agree that that’s what her opinion was. In which case disregard everything
  9. Right, Democrats are sensible and normal. Cool.
  10. If every man is an individual, how come you didn’t write any of that?
  11. Ok, it can be considered that way by people who call themselves libertarians but really aren’t.
  12. Well done Captain Obvious. You've just demonstrated what everyone else already knew - the stupidity of your incessant rants that equate anyone liberal with the most radical fringes of wokeness.
  13. Not by Libertarians. “That government is best which governs least, because its people discipline themselves." A statement made without evidence can be discarded without evidence.
  14. But you are arguing that your use of the word should be considered inoffensive even though you have been told and really should know that the people you're describing will be offended by it. When you know that your use of the word will offend people and use it anyway you really can't argue that you intended to be inoffensive. For instance, the word negro simply means black in Portugese. The words Negro and Negress originally came to prominence in the US as a more polite way of referring to black people. But would you honestly say today about Aunt Jemima "I think that Negress would prefer to stay on the label" and not expect to cause offense? Because that's how stupid your argument is.
  15. Do the people you’re talking about speak Algonquin? If not do you think they might be offended that to you they’re all the same?
  16. Therefore you believe anyone who claims moral high ground is also a totalitarian. Which perfectly demonstrates the depth of consideration you have applied to woke thinking.
  17. You've never given any indication that you've considered anything to do with 'woke' politics. You're just a repost machine for the right wing echo chamber.
  18. Let’s break this down - a company stubbornly and disrespectfully continues to use for years a logo which it knows is offensive to large parts of the minority population it depicts. Then when the company finally drops the logo it does it in a way which avoids making any recognition of or apology for the offence it has caused, and the minority population also finds that disrespectful. The people to blame for all of this? Woke liberals, obviously. Makes perfect sense to me!
  19. You mean you refuse to concede that you were duped? It's tough when acknowledging reality might look like you're agreeing with a liberal. I guess you have no choice but to plough ahead with the falsehood.
  20. Cue Brent being shocked, shocked, that anyone would assume he agreed with the statements he posted as the entirety of his contribution to the thread.
  21. That's a nice reposting of someone else's opinion. Since you don't even know enough about her to be able to spell her name I doubt you're ready to have a discussion about it.
  22. Have you only just started paying attention to politics in the last 2 years?
  23. Don't talk yourself down, you made it look so easy! So, not really anything to do with wokeness apart from that it is supposedly part of the Democrat platform? Surely then this equally means that politicians who worship at the alter of wokeness will find themselves rewarded with victory at the midterms. In hindsight, it wasn't a very good burn, was it?
  24. They honestly don't. The NRA is phenomenally corrupt. They're not the only organisation that is, but they're sure as hell not like every organisation. The NRA chose to headquarter in a blue state. That does not give them immunity from the law simply because it might make an investigation appear to be blue vs red. And TBH, anyone who sees it differently is clearly already committed to divisive politics so it doesn't really matter either way.
  25. "Yep, politicians who worship at the alter of “woke” will find themselves sacrificed on it come the midterms." Again, it's nice to know you think the American people prefer every other aspect of Democrat policy.
