I used to have a Rio S-10, it ran exclusively on MMC cards (SD would not work), and a problem I ran into is that after about 4 months, the contacts in the memory card slot lost their "spring" and as a result would only recognize the card about 25% of the time. I literally had to press on the back of the case and hold it at a specific angle to get the player to recognize the card. Luckily my SO had gotten the 4 year warranty at Best Buy, so I took it back and bought an I-river 256. I like this Mp3 player much better, it's smaller, less expensive, has an FM tuner/recorder, comes with great headphones, and they make models from 64 upto 512 and is more options rich. Most importanatly it fits great in the inside pocket of a jumpsuit. Not dissing your brothers gift, but I would exchange it for an equivalent I-river. Just go to Thomaston this weekend and get-er-done. I'm sure Mark'll help you out he's such a great guy like that. He's my hero. He's also gotten "Hooked on Phonics" so his spellings getting better. Same here, I work for ASA which is owned by Delta, and the difference in pay between companies is huge. We had a record breaking year in revenew, load factor, and completion, Delta has been loseing money like its a trend, yet their mechanics and pilots still easily make 2 and 3 times what we do at the regional. Actually with the pilots its more like 4 to 5 times more. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

When traveling with your gear and you have to fly...

I carry on, and I always carry a copy of the public release on the TSA website which states in very plain english that "Skydiving rigs with or without AAD's are acceptable as carry on or checked baggage". The release also further states that all measures will be taken to inspect the rig WITHOUT opening it. I also try to find the airlines policy for the same (generally posted online) and carry a copy of that as well. I do recommend carrying everything in a gear bag. I have three screws, and five wires in my left ankle, three broken collar bones (yes you can break the same one twice in the same place), a twice separated right shoulder, reconstructed right knee, and a crushed L2. I haven't had any problems skydiving with any of it, (sleeping on cold damp ground at boogies causes some interesting sensations in the morning) and no, I did not do all of this on one bad landing......it took a few Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

Out of the Otter this year at Richmond on the "High Speed LOOOOW Pass". Out at 1700 under canopy at 700. I was first out, and my dumb ass actually waited until the dude that came out after me pulled before I pulled. Never got the ground rush 'cause I kept looking up. Hell of a Rush a rush nonetheless. Nice opening though. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!

I'll be there foe show. Just as an option, it is sometimes cheaper to fly into Atlanta, and then take a connecting flight to either Mobile, Biloxi, or New Orleans. I know that it sounds like going by way of outer Syberia, but sometimes it works out. Buying sepparate tickets is sometimes cheaper as well. Just a thought from a guy on the inside. Aren't there any femenists (or womenists) out there that find it offensive that the flier presents women as "the cook & clean" member of the household.
