    Yup. If I had to guess today, I would say he would lose by a narrow margin. Thought to be quite honest, I think the reasons for that loss will not have a hell of alot to do with how he has run the country or if Kerry is a better candidate. Just my opinion.     When they got wind of the story they should have done proper investigation to make sure it was legit. That's their responsibility as a news orginization. Did they do that? Nope. What did they do? They saw visions of Bush losing the election because of a great scandal...a scandal CBS broke. They rushed the story...a story that looks to be a fake.Quote HAVE to agree with you here...     I guess I don't understand what the problem is with an "anyone but Bush" mentality... People are entitled to give a vote of "no confidence" as much as they are entitled to be behind their candidate 100%.     Unfortunately, Social Security doesn't work that way. There is no "account" with your name on it sitting somewhere; it is an AMOUNT owed to you. The way SS is structured, the current workforce effectively "pays off" the obligation to the previous generation. So lets all change that! i want my money to be invested the way I Want it to be. Fair enough. However, how do you think the current workforce is going to react to having to pay for the previous generation's retirement AND plan/fund their own (that would have been paid for by the following generation)?     I agree with this point to a certain extent, and asked around about it; it was pointed out to me (by a Bush campaign staffer, no less) that the reason that they protest at the time of the convention is that they are hoping to get "bookend" media coverage from the convention itself. And it worked. There were plenty of issues brought to the forefront, as well as forum for dialogue and discussion. In their minds, that IS constructive change.     With the exception of those who are still holding onto the "Bush stole the election" rhetoric, they weren't protesting the "system"; they were protesting the behaviour of the current administration in the hope of instigating what they considered to be constructive change.     Besides the fact that the left has a tendency to be more "activist", I think you would also have to look at the nature of the protests themselves. The libs are MUCH more inclined to "act out" as they are protesting an existing situation and demanding change, whereas the Republicans are more interested in maintaining the status quo than in protesting what MIGHT come to pass. That being said, it did not seem that their protests were far out of line, and they seemed to be peacably assembled (with the exception of the idiots who disrupted the President's speech of course). All in all, it seemed like they garnered the media attention they had hoped to for their cause without disrupting the convention or host city very much. "I gargle no man's balls..." ussfpa on SOCNET
