Face wounds are totally gross. It sucks ass that even with a full face sans shield you got sliced though. That is why I don't even jump with one. I went hundreds of feet down a mountain and nothin'. I am still as pretty/ugly as before. Not to say that my slash isn't coming faster now that I ruined my karma.

Oh man, I don't think that's funny at all bro since I have seen that first hand. My old girlfriend had a wound like that! Not sure how a helmet would have helped though.

This guy is my idol.

OH amn, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That was hilarious! I gotta check this thing more!

I was jumping there the last week of March '04 and the snow was still there and well. I walked to the top of the waterfall from the Horner on the trail and it was still pretty bad. The exit points aren't really that bad though especially the ones with trees on them. If the weather warmed a little then you will have to watch the mud and stuff up there too. As for the insurance I don't really know if that will cover but the Regina Insurance is only 30 Franc/year. You would not believe (or maybe you can) how much it will cost you without.

Greenie in training? More like grammar police and not funny joke maker in training. Thanks for picking up on that I almost looked like someone that drinks a lot, but I digress.....

I totally hate monkies so I am selling these cheap and all of them come pretenderized. It is illegal to bread them but I will only sell them to authorized monkey handlers.

I found another one!

I was there too. He says sorry he thought you were a man. Almost 40 years of carrot snapage will ruin 20/20 vision just like our grandparents told us. Here's the only pic I could find.

I would love to go off about how USPA only allows hints of BASE in thier rag but it just isn't true. I could put a picture of my mother in it if I wanted to pay the premium. Remember the collage of the SEAL in the Oct 05 issue. I made that and it would have been no different and the same price if it were a picture of my shoes. USPA at one time leaned toward supporting BASE and then it crashed and burned in Yosemite ont eh back of a truck, the Arch, and other places. They are now hand shy of BASE and everytime you mention it they seem to have the support hand in their pocket. They are good at that. I have seen some pretty amazing things come from there and none of them remind me of something that represents the U.S. They have formed a monopoly gaining membership fees from you while "lobbying" the FAA when in all reality all you need to do is follow FAA regulations and you are fine. Trouble in that is many DZ's including tiny dz's, complete with retard, accross the globe will only take you up if you have a card and number. Ask me how I know.....

The Ace is the most basic Protec design and comes in half config also while still affording the same amount of rear protection (it just cuts off the ears). You can actually get a full and cut the ears off later if you like, make a template from another half Ace. It's not one of your choices but Sky Helmets makes a helmet that a lot of the Germans BASE in and are made by a German BASE jumper. Personally I just bastardized a perfectly good Skysystems helmet to accept a camera and went for broke.

What are the stereotypes/ connotations of a base jumper?
eb66to77 replied to kirrz's topic in BASE Jumping
-Mindless, reckless, aesthetically unappealing, conductive metallic endowed, non athletic, adrenaline monkey, that maintains his/her abilities to move out with a purpose with greater than or equal to 180 Square feet of uncontained silk, in hiking boots and assorted armor, and cram in greater than or equal to two more people than the vehicle is manufactured to carry, not once thinking about wiping feet or seatbelts. This doesn’t even count what happened to cause the “move out with a purpose” in the first place. -
Sounds about right bro, you got out so I might just do the same thing next time. Respect costs nothing and always smile for the camera.

I am not sure if it has been mentioned before but the book "The Big Umbrella" neatly outlines most if not all the very early attempts people had at parachuting(before flight). As soon as ballooning was something people wanted to watch there was a BASE ancestor ready to jump from it with anything and I mean ANYTHING that looked close to something that would hold air above them. Now-a-days people would jsut call that Eastern NC jumping but the rest of the world seems to be catching on.

Dude, there is a lot of stuff on Google Earth that would shock the witting. My buddy and I sat for over two hours sending links to each other of shit that should never be on there. Your little antenna I would bet does not qualify as more important than these things. The pic is most likely straight overhead. I have found other antennas hard to see.

Since intuition plays from one’s subconscious it is sometimes more beneficial to not seek an explanation for it. To explain; without a full understanding of all the elements that come into play to form one’s personal intuition (i.e. personality type, life experience, etcetera) one’s conscious mind will alter the actions of your brain without them knowing it thus leading to a completely different feeling.

Wall Strike, had no idea it would be that one that got me. Had a wierd feeling from the day I started flicking.

Oh man I was totally on that exit point. I got out of it without an 8 hour hanging event though! HAHAHA! It's 450ft to that platform. I knew that because I set my Suunto to that and said I was going from there no matter what! I seem to remember a certain firefighter driving two hours to climb, jump, and drive two hours back. What a whack job! Man I miss that thing.
