Dead link for me. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

I'm moving toward getting a jump on my PC deployed from a Sigma Tandem rig. I finally packed it up and deployed the 44 Magnum pilot chute on the ground. A Paracommander in a sleeve packs very nicely in a Vector Sigma rig. The photos show the closing configuration and the pilot chute launch. The canopy is on L bar links on tandem risers. The weather is getting ripe for my first jump on the PC since 2003. I used to jump it in a B-4 conventional rig, but keeping a belly wart packed for only a few jumps a year is expensive. I like the idea of a Sky Hook, anyway. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

Dam! Today I called the Ft Dodge Airport and put in a plea to find my stuff. Lo and BEHOLD... I get a call back with the news that my valuable items (above) were FOUND. I gave em my Fed Ex number, and it's on the way home.

We lost one at Skydive Houston a while back. Pilot made note of the GPS coordinates at the moment of lift off. He then took the GPS unit to the same coordinates on the ground and FOUND the door. Intact. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

NINE! 18 more to FOUR THOUSAND. All Tandems.

Just off the top of my head, (and cut and pasted from RWS web site...) Minimum Require ments: Minimum 500 tandem jumps experience (can be waved for military & foreign jumpers). AFF / Static Line / IAD / IAF or Tandem Instructor Ratings (must have at least two of these). Be able to qualify for the USPA Instructor/Examiner Rating or foreign equivalent. Rigger Rating (would be really nice, but not absolutely necessary, if you possess an above average level of gear intelligence, our program is gear-intensive). Log Books verifying your experience - we don't need all of your logs, just the last 500 tandems. Please don't come without them. 3 Letters of Recommendation (USPA Director or foreign equivalent, S&TA, Chief Instructor, drop zone owner, etc.). Absolutely Mandatory! Note: We're looking for a solid recommendation from three (3) dependable sources that you are a mature skydiving professional that exercises good judgment. Your skydiving history should be spotless. Skydiving designs and the Jump-pig cartoon?
efs4ever replied to CaptSplat's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Maybe Bill Booth will want that as the "new" Vector logo. (Vector sprang from "Wonderhog" which was a super version of a "piggyback" rig which had evolved from the conventional one on the front and one on the back stuff the sport started with.) Russell M. Lowest D-Licence w/o Jumping Rounds
efs4ever replied to outlawphx's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
That would be around D-7000. But I don't think there were any student operations using square canopies yet at that point. I started in 1978, and we were required to make 75 Paracommander-type jumps before moving to a ram-air. Student jumps were still on T-10's. Who was the first to use ram-air's for students? Roger Nelson? I'm D 7014, and I have over 100 round jumps before converting. in 1985, using Roger Nelson's video FJC aid, we put some students out on squares in Dallas. Russell M. You have to be kidding me! Well, ever since it has become politically incorrect to serve identifiable chicken body parts outside of KFC, Popeyes and Church's the restaurants who still serve it have a warm spot in my heart. Well, I got my peeps through the class and through their first four jumps today. Sure is nice having a lightly loaded Otter to jump from. These bottle babies don't yet know what it's like to cram into and out of a Cessna. Only thing left is the whoopie ride to tandem terminal before pitching the drogue. (And the rest of "probation") Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

Ok you tandem examiners, I'm doing my first course, teaching some Peeps to be real tandem masters / instructors. So far so good. How did you feel teaching your first course. Flunk anyone? Have a scary ride on the front of one of your students? If one of you Maggots from my course is watching, turn back NOW. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

Did they get the plane out first? I jumped there a while back. I remember they had tools for getting water out of the hangar; something that happened often. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com

Yeah, I wasn't much on "edges" as this IS an apartment. I don't have anything more than .5 inch gap, though. It'll be easier to come up with a larger trim than it will be to redo the floor. Russell M. Webb D 7014 Attorney at Law 713 385 5676 https://www.tdcparole.com
