taking a rig as carry on in canada
IanHarrop replied to TaylorC's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Good to hear from you Goober! Glad you got a tickle! Hope you're getting more jumps than I am this winter! You'll have to make another trip to Alberta this coming year. Though Didsbury is closed, both Alberta Skydivers (Beiseker) and Rivers Edge Skydivers (Innisfail) are great places to jump. Rumour has it that the provincials will be in the Calgary area this year and there will be an Otter. The planned date is June 30 - July 3. Check out this link as a reference to Westjet and their policy. http://tinyurl.com/6xbzg From time to time this gets discussed on CSPA chat thingy and apparently Westjet have it properly documented in their systems that their screeners can access online. RWS will build rigs out of Parapack or Cordura, based on customer preference. You might want to have someone confirm that your rig in fact got built with your preferred material. I'd start with a call to RWS. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

I jump with someone I am dating and there is no problem... just do what I do and date someone that doesn't skydive as good as you do

This is probably a re-post but what the hell, its Christmas Time Check out this page for Twisted Christmas Tunes http://www.bobrivers.com/audiovault/tunes/xmastunes.asp They even have low speed (28k) downloads so even people on dial up can hear them. Be sure to press Next at the bottom of the list - there's 4 pages of them. Edit to add: Which one is your favorite? woman, sometimes partly responsible for rape?
IanHarrop replied to artistcalledian's topic in Speakers Corner
she is not to blame even partly? she can wear what ever she likes, where ever she likes and come on to a man as much as she likes... and at the very last moment, say no... and what happens next is none of her fault at all? I thought I was clear the first time, may be this will help: NO, she is not to blame and not responsible. A person that rapes is in control of their own actions. They are responsible for their actions, they are to blame. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -

NO, she is not to blame and not responsible. In this world you can control your own actions but not the actions of others. This is one of the few well defined truths there are. A person that rapes is in control of their own actions. They are responsible for their actions, they are to blame. Period - end of story. There are people I don't like, not just some of the time, some people I don't like all the time, period. Do I hate them? No. But if I had my druthers, I wouldn't have to meet or talk to them, or even think about them, ever again. The no insurance thing was reported by her aunt in another thread. In that thread her aunt stated that she had no insurance because it was her understanding that skydivers can't get insurance. Its getting tough to follow because I think there maybe at least 4 threads on this situation. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

ARE CYPRES AND AAD'S COMPULSORY
IanHarrop replied to clintonradloff's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
There are concerns with some disciplines such as CRW and advanced swooping that having an AAD may contribute to people going SPLAT! "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
