Win 7 64bits users BE AWARE when using Neptune 2 with Paralog
IanHarrop replied to skykank's topic in Gear and Rigging
i belive that if you already have Win 7 Home Premium that you can upgrade to Win 7 Ultimate (has all the features of Professional + some more) for a good price. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -
Timing is everything. Just received this one from a friend (Andrew Donald) for the newbies at our DZ. The PDF file is bigger than what is allowed as an attachment here, so here is a link to it on my Skydrive https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=7f477c0b90a3e835&sc=documents&uc=1&id=7F477C0B90A3E835%21110# "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Win 7 64bits users BE AWARE when using Neptune 2 with Paralog
IanHarrop replied to skykank's topic in Gear and Rigging
Fortunately the issue is isolated to the Neptune and Paralog and 64 bit versions. Neptunes work very well with 64 bit Win 7 and the NMU - Neptune Management Utility The N3 works very well with both the NMU and Paralog with all versions of Windows because it doesn't rely on the IR interface. It connects directly with a USB cable. Someone on the Alti-2 forum has reported success with Paralog and Neptunes on Win 7 64 bit machines using VirtualBox to get the IROMM2K software working required for the IR interface. can't download data from neptune to paralog
IanHarrop replied to skykank's topic in Gear and Rigging
Read this thread: http://forum.altimaster.com/showthread.php?966-Use-IrComm-on-Windows-7-64bit-with-Virtual-PC-XP-Mode&highlight=windows A comment from lower in the thread "Unfortunately, Windows XP mode is only available for the high-end versions of Windows (Professional/Ultimate) However, there is an alternative. I have tried with VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org/) and it works. I am sure any other virtual machine software will work as well." PEP Packing manual for Para Innovatiors Wedge Seat
IanHarrop replied to firemedic's topic in Gear and Rigging
Read right to the end of the manual. I noticed after I posted this that the -1 is an addendum on the end of the manual. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -
PEP Packing manual for Para Innovatiors Wedge Seat

Is this it? http://parachutemanuals.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=42&func=startdown&id=251 If not check this page http://parachutemanuals.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=42 "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -
Use the NMU software to download your logs and then send the unit in for service at Alti-2. Alti-2's service is great. You can find out how to transfer the logs in the NMU manual found here http://forum.altimaster.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=34 on pages 32-33 You need to fill in an RMA to get your Neptune serviced you can get one here: http://forum.altimaster.com/content.php?155-RMA-Repairs Once you have Neptune fixed and returned to you, you can upload all your old logs per the manual on page 33 If you need help doing this you can get help here: http://forum.altimaster.com/forumdisplay.php?23-Altimaster-Field-Support "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

It is a little more than one man's opinion. I don't want to start a CSPA discussion thread because I don't care enough about it to. There is a reason why I am USPA and have USPA ratings. I was merely adding to what was one thought on the subject I replied to. Hopefully you've given up your CSPA membership too. New CYPRES disclaimer - 'it simply cuts a loop'
IanHarrop replied to pchapman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This site http://www.cypres.cc/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=190&Itemid=91&lang=en says "AIRTEC has developed electronic opening devices (AADs) for more than 21 years. " So while SSK may say that all a Cypres does is cut a loop, looks like Airtec says they make openers. Consistency can be difficult to maintain. Yea I can believe that CSPA might not have one. The link I suggested is for the CSPA forum. Might get some notice there. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Price depends on where you buy, some places the FT50 is more than the Galaxy. See attached "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

+1 Sure makes you wonder why anyone makes anonymous posts bitching about someone, somewhere... Just trying to stir the pot is my guess... I think they're called trolls. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

I guy a our DZ has the exact same problem. Hard openings and an immediate turn to the left on a brand new canopy. A long time owner of another Safire 2 (one that behaves as it should) packed and jumped the problem canopy and the problem still exists. Canopy is going back to the factory because something isn't right. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
