And can you give me just a little hint as to what song it was..... perhaps the title or just a couple of lines? You seem to be very coy about this song...... "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Of course as an actress.... She also sang in a variety of shows. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

If you give me a hint I might be able to help. We Barbershop singers tend to have good sources for music from the 20-30-40's "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Who Are Your Skydiving Heroes/Mentors?
IanHarrop replied to skykittykat's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Thank you for mentioning Lloyd Kallio. Lloyd put me out on my first jump back in 76 and probably doesn't remember me in grand bunch of people he has dispatched over the years but the mark he left on my life and the value that skydiving, which introduced me to, is beyond mention. Thanks Lloyd. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy -
I'm 48 and about 200 lbs naked. Not as flexible as I once was. I like my B-12 snaps as it is just that must easier to get the rig on and off. That said, I have friends with the same age and weight and they have step-in rigs and manage quite fine. One of my favourites: Bruichladdich 15 year old - The 17 year is great too but personally I like the 15 year old better. Read what the experts have to say: The 15 year old: http://www.bruichladdich.com/tasting_reviews_the_fifteen_bottling(1).htm The 17 year old: http://www.bruichladdich.com/tasting_reviews_the_xvii_bottling(1).htm "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Perhaps you need to read up on the proper process for tasting Scotch as described by the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society - Edinburgh. http://www.smws.com/archives/archives_tasting.html "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

wow, how did it taste? post the recipe. It's really quite simple - of course prices were different then so doing up a whole ounce was normal. While preparing the dressing in the normal way put what ever amount of "spice" you can afford in a frying pan and some butter and simmer. As the butter melts stir everything up, just don't cook it all up for very long. Just so the butter melts and then a little bit more. Add the spice mixture the to dressing and mix well, then stuff the turkey. Turkey tastes great - you probably won't even notice any additional spice flavor. Everyone gets a buzz, gets the munchies and goes back for more turkey! OOPS too stoned to even eat dessert! Thank you for posting this, I am not a believer but I have always felt that if there was a God, would he not appear to different communities in a way that is most easy for their culture to accept? Since most religions really try to promote the same good kinds of behavior embodied in the golden rule, is it that much of a stretch to suggest that there is but one God represented differently by different cultures? Being a non-believer does not stop me from wanting to wish all of you a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukah or Best of the Holidays. (you get to pick the sentiment that hits home for you!) Edited to add: I sing in a Barbershop quartet. On Boxing day I'll being singing 3 Christmas carols for a church service. I (an atheist) sing lead, the bass is Jewish, baritone and tenor both Christians. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Thank goodness for Google. A sign of age - I had to look up what "dug-out" meant. What ever happened to "brownies"? The two times I got the "most" wired back in the seventies were from eating the stuff. Once in brownies and another time I made Thanksgiving dinner for a bunch of friends and I spiced up the dressing. Both times I got oh so loaded

I did my 200th jump on February 15th, 1981 in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. (see map attached) Does that count? I remember it was cold on the ground but warm up top with a temperature inversion. Did a kiss pass with a young lady named Val. Got "Chocolate Caked" later at the home of Murrays! Perhaps you need a Canadian representative? After all you could then claim to be international in scope! I've got over 30 years of my hands on computer keyboards, started programming in 1974. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Jeeze you people are whiners Last time I got out of a plane it was -20 C (-4 F) at altitude. Right now I'd give almost anything to be able to get out a plane with the same conditions today! I love this. When helping people and they have said they tried exactly what I did but it didn't work for them but it worked for me, I have often referred to it as "the laying on of hands". That is to say that it was simply my touch that made the difference!

okay the answer to this may be obvious... but I've never done any ground launching so I am looking for clarification. Why does one need a separate harness for ground launching? From looking at the site mentioned, I understand that a ground launch harness can't be cut away but other than that, and less wear and tear on a skydiving harness, why would one need separate harness? When storing your gear so that it's still in good enough shape to jump after the divorce, be sure that its in a dry, dark place. Selling your gear when you get married to a whuffo is a bad idea, the money goes and you have no gear to jump when the marriage is over. All kidding aside.... best of luck!
