I find arguing about a work of fiction a waste of time, so I don't bother.

So the answer to your question is obvious, since the US condones killing in a "legal" fashion then only murder is bad. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Not in the developed world perhaps... but I'm not sure you'd be right for the whole world. Check this http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/smallarms/articles/2003/0729triggerhappy.htm "With roughly 83-96 guns per 100 people, the United States is approaching a statistical level of one gun per person. The country with the second-highest gun ownership is Yemen, with between 33 and 50 firearms per 100 people, followed by Finland with 39 per 100, the survey said. By comparison, the states of the European Union, now thought to have many more guns than previously estimated, have 17.4 guns per 100 people. One country that is heavily armed is Australia. The survey estimates there are 2.1 million private firearms in Australia. Australian gun ownership - one privately-owned gun for every nine people - surpasses the global ratio, which is just one gun for every 16 people. I think that this is exactly the issue, and Americans are that much more violent. I think the US is very militaristic and I doubt the proliferation of guns is matched anywhere in the world. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

Go into the Neptune and from the “System” menu, select “Log Setup”. The Logbook setup menu allows you to set the starting number of jumps. "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

I don't have to worry about rats because I live in Alberta and we don't have rats here. You can move to Alberta too and then you won't have to worry about rats. -
I think if you make sure that the options in Paralog are set so that it doesn't overwrite previous data when it reads from the Neptune and then update the numbers in Neptune, you'll be fine. Its what I did when I had the same issue. You can delete the Neptune log if you want but I didn't bother. The real problem is that "american standard" is the British Imperial system. I have been suggesting for some time that the Americans need to get out from under the jack boot of British Imperialism and go metric. Didn't you people stage a little revolution a while back? Why are you people still using the British system? "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

To add to the conversation - this sounds like the US would accept... "With offers from the four corners of the globe pouring in, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has decided “no offer that can help alleviate the suffering of the people in the afflicted area will be refused,” State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Thursday." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9161198/ "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

So what do you think - should the US accept aid from old foes? ============================================= Old foes offer aid to US The United States has received offers of aid and messages of sympathy from a number of countries often at odds with Washington. Iran, Cuba and Venezuela have offered to send humanitarian aid to victims of Hurricane Katrina. "If Iran's help is needed and requested we'd respond to the call, however we should make sure first that there is such a request," said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi. Cuban President Fidel Castro announced in a live television broadcast on Friday that he had just issued a second offer to the United States to send Cuban doctors to help care for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The "(US) authorities are going through a difficult time, we are not asking for anything," said Castro, whose country has not had diplomatic relations with the United States in more than four decades. Also on Friday, Venezuela made formal an offer to send planeloads of aid, including several hundred of soldiers and rescue volunteers, to the United States. In a message sent to the US Embassy, the Venezuelan Government said it was willing to send fuel, water purification plants and more than 50 tons of canned food and water to the United States. The Red Cross of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has expressed sympathy to its US counterpart over the damage caused by the hurricane, saying it hoped "the living of the inhabitants in the afflicted areas return to normal as early as possible," its official KCNA agency reported. Here's a solution, just take it back to Walmart --- My wife and I fought constantly, Why I married her I'll never know. For all those miserable years I said My wife has got to go! Tried poisoning cakes, stripping her brakes, Salting her pork chops with lime. Wiring her chair, igniting her hair Even though playing with fire is a crime. But I failed at each plot 'til I suddenly thought Of a way that would set me free! I got rid of her for good and, know what? They couldn't do a thing to me! I took her back to Wal-Mart! They'll take anything back you know! They said they couldn't recall selling her, But they must have if I said so. They'll take anything back at Wal-Mart, Though it's broken or rotten or sweet. And know what else? This time of year You don't even need a receipt! They just credited her to my Visa and said, "Y'all come back now, 'ya hear?" They were so nice, polite, pleasant and insistent, I'll take back her mother next year! "Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy
