How did you get into skydiving?
Maxx replied to sparknote_s's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I always dreamed being able to fly since I was a little child. And then I wanted to make my dream come true. That's it. -
Nice car, but I wanna have this car! This car rocks!!!

Look for some old X-Games footage, they had a gyron Cam in use regulary.. I think there is also some stuff on the "well known" Good Stuff DVD.. Greetings, Max

Hi, sorry I'm not interested in buying this thing, I just have a very stupid question.. Can you hookturn this thing? I think it would be cool to have something like a high-performance-landing simulator for training purposes.. Feet up! Max -
"Don't think about WHAT you are doing, just fly your body." and "Breathe."

Hi, Glad you're OK! A friend of mine and actually had the same car and was driving it without a roof and seatbelts. He had an accident in the woods and got slammed out of his car.. But he had nothing but some cuts and bruises. Sure, the car was a total.. These cars must have something like a built-in super guardian angel.. Good luck, Max

Which is the best DZ you ever visited?
Maxx replied to bluesky1977's topic in Events & Places to Jump
The "old" Skydive Amerika in Pahokee, before it was Skydive SoBe.. This place really kicked some asses.. There was a vibe you can't describe easily with words. I hope this place opens up again sometime. Greetings, Max -
Yes, it`s absolutly true!

Sorry to say that.. But rumor has it that this particular sentence was never said by Leonardo Da Vinci. Sorry for you Feet up! Max

Hi, I've been to the tunnel for the first time this year (skyventure Orlando). I did 60 minutes and concentrated on freeflying. I had a coach and progressed through a learning-program.. I learned the belly-basics in the tunnel and did some back-flying. All went well and it was great fun! But when it came to sitflying my progression suddenly stopped. I have about 150 sitflying only jumps and I am able to do anything I want in the sky (docks, transitions, slow/fast falling, carving..) But in the tunnel it felt completly different.. My normal sit-position just didn't work in the tunnel. The best i got was some hovering for about 3-4 seconds. I felt completly stupid because for 30 minutes I did nothing else than sit/standing on the crate or on my inctructors knees.. My instructor said my sit-position looked very good. He said it is just a matter of time (or $ in other words) until I actually can fly my sit.. Here are my questions: 1. Is it normal for an experienced sitflyer that flying in the tunnel is a whole different deal? 2. Is it worth to spend another high amount of $ to learn to sitfly in the tunnel? Will it improve my (already working) sitflying in the sky? 3. Is there a special trick or something I could try the next time? I found out that bringing my lower legs to the side helped a little bit, because the air caught more surface then.. Thanks for your help and a merry Christmas! Max

Hi, I`m from Germany and started jumping with 16. I`m 20 now and have 400 jumps. I always wanted to build an all-underage Freefly-Team but most really young skydivers do RW or random-flying .. No one would like to do freefly competitionwise.. I'm in the states over NYE for collegiates..Maybe see you there! Greets, Max

No, the dropzone rules apply.. Almost all bigger dropzones in Germany require an AAD, but there are plenty of places where you don't need one to jump. HTH, Max

What about students from foreign countries? Greets, Max

Hi, I'm Max from Germany. I'm also going to be there.. What can I expect it from it? I heard there are many people coming.. Is there a program? Where can I sleep there? I gonna bring my girlfriend with me. I'm 20, have 400 jumps and do strictly freefly. I hope I will find someone to jump with -
And your microwave might explode after some amount of time or at least will get a serious damage.. And don't open the door and breath the gases, even if it will make you "stoned".. Stay safe! Max

Don't forget that there are also many many ugly-looking people in the skydiving environment. Especially when it comes to style , choice of colors (suit, rig, canopy..) and general appearance. I don't think skydivers are better looking than any other athletes..(btw: are skydiver athletes? ) Just my 0.02€... Greets, Max

Ok, now heres the deal.. Try to find suitable objects to complete your B.A.S.E # in GTA: San Andreas. B is not a problem, you can find them everywhere. A is quite a hassle to get on to it and S is very, very low (with water landing). Can anyone find a suitable exit point for an E? Theres a big mountain on the upper left in the map.. Is it jumpable? Feet up! Max

Hi, I saw a video with a pumpkin, where the pumpkin went stable at first but then began spinning faster and faster. The inside of the pumpkin began to press against the paring and after 10 or 15 seconds the pumpkin exploded very hard and someone flying above the pumpkin got a nice topping.. The reason for this was that the pumpkin was slightly oval shaped and therefore asymmetric.. Be sure to get a good symmetric pumpkin! But the people around them were flying on their belly, IIRC. Feet up! Max

Oh, yes I like this one.. Or try to fly on your knees.. Its great fun and it's perfect for controlling your fallrate and for taking grips and.. it looks much cooler
