  1. Has 'stowing steering lines' finally become a common practice everywhere or why not? What goes around, comes later.
  2. well that lost me. I'm sorry, my joke was incomprehensible as usually. By reading your (too) private correspondence, I felt like watching some movie, with no ending. That's where I spoke from. It was supposed to be funny, polite way of saying: "guys, continue with PM's, please" .. or you could send some pictures What goes around, comes later.
  3. Oops, another sorry for intrusion while we're still alive. Die first, then tell us how it sucks to die misunderstood. What goes around, comes later.
  4. Hey guys, we need closure! Pfff.. I'll probably dream about you two and there's gonna be "The Hair" soundtrack so, some pictures please? What goes around, comes later.
  5. Pneumothorax is a possibility too. Relax, for instance - I didn't have one since I've started skydiving. And if you have one - no worries. Not that big of a deal. What goes around, comes later.
  6. Silly for some, real for me. I've no doubts in your doubts. It sure will come to one who's expecting exactly that. I'm dead when I'm scared. While feared and ready to die - I breath and act upon.
  7. Terror, panic, may happen only to unprepared person, to those not ready to die. Someone taught me that I am dead as soon as I exit. You exit, you die and just maybe you land into another life. The Brave dies 1000's of times. The one not so brave dies only once... in a sleep What goes around, comes later.
  8. OK, I'm broke, now what? edit: Drinks and Hook_turns are on me. Occasion is post #500. What goes around, comes later.
  9. hmm, from a whufoo point of expectations (I guess), a demo jumper should be a) 100% safe for everybody (well... for himself too) b) wearing two flags minimum c) two smoke cans... three better d) tip-toe landing OF COARSE! so, very fast multi flag three color smoke Mr. 48 sparkling teeth.. with a theatrical bow Bow missing? Take him off PRO Rating What goes around, comes later.
  10. I say this is an interesting question. Pulling "A" line only, allows for easier/longer-down pull. Still, it's not so common (according to videos available) vs. pulling front riser with "A+B" lines - which must and is harder to pull. In a matter of possible collapsing the canopy, I'd say that riser pull is safer. I Did use line pulling only but never to the extreme, therefor wasn't scared of canopy collapse. Can't wait to read some experienced guys replies. What goes around, comes later.
  11. How else would you call a place full of anonymous dorks competing in annoying others who try to learn? If I knew who these Dorks are, I'd tell their parents What goes around, comes later.
  12. This is GREAT! First hand OnLine watching history repeating on inventing position of Air Traffic Controller What goes around, comes later.
  13. I love my slider while it's up - I hate it when it's down. I love my chest strap while deploying - i hate it while flying. and for the dices - I love them red&transparent, Vegas type, anti magnetic What goes around, comes later.
  14. Fair exactly. Thank You. What goes around, comes later.
  15. I'm really trying not to hit hard but I've seen a student in a two-out downplane..couple of times. I figure it's a possible waste of life. Yelling "CUTAWAY" in his/her ear, sounds risky but I'd take it. (if nobody else hears it like a command) Downplane can break or kill - what is worse than kill? Touchy matter it is. What goes around, comes later.
  16. Just for the reference I've cutaway my suspicious main at 500 m. It was controllable, as yours seemed to be. I've had a knife in my hand - didn't know what line to cut in order to inflate next-to-mid-cell. I believe if there was no one watching - I would risk landing it (there was some wind gusting) There's always a set of complex circumstances leading to decision to cutaway or not. 17. The fact that i am not an Instructor is worthless here, that's what I'm saying. The question stands: Would you yell "CUTAWAY" if you see your student spiraling toward hard-deck and nobody else can hear you but this student? This is a question for ALL Instructors, if there's a "Yes" answer - make it happen. What goes around, comes later.
  18. Shouldn't you Instructors have a multiChannel transmitter? I mean this is 2010, it's not 'A expense'. What goes around, comes later.
  19. Of course it's a valid point but there's a number of hairy situations I can think of. Good canopy, loosened chest strap, pretty low, out of the blue somebody hit your canopy. Say you must cut away, shock, no time - what do you do? What goes around, comes later.
  20. Can you shed some light on what you are trying to say, please? What goes around, comes later.
  21. I guess that should be offensive to guys with 4000 jumps and 40000 posts What goes around, comes later.
  22. Like when Tommy Piras failed to turn his on? No. Fails like AAD fails to cut reserve loop at preset altitude, life not saved. And apparent answer is: "Yes, we should know but we can't" That's it if you're lazy to read. What goes around, comes later.
  23. Your post suggest that manufacturer can always evade admission of unit failure to cut reserve loop at pre set altitude - because of too many factors involved and no "witnesses". Is post-fatal-unit-data public or what? What goes around, comes later.
  24. up to date: Cypres saved over 2000 Vigil saved 81 Argus saved 22 All according to manufacturers websites. Shouldn't we know how many fails there was? Was there? I really hope this is not a taboo subject. What goes around, comes later.
  25. At 16 1/2, I didn't get parental consent. It hurts when thinking of different life outcomes and therefor - I am sorry for it. (didn't know what 'faking' is) On the other hand, I wouldn't give consent to minor ONLY if there's obvious stupidity, ignorance and underestimation of dangers involved. What goes around, comes later.
