Thanks, I'll probably check that out (eventually!)... I guess, by the definitions you put forth, I am a "materialist"... I do believe that the brain and the mind are the same thing. And I believe that the brain itself can cause physical changes to take place within the brain... which sort of matches up with the "dualist" way of thinking... except that I still think that the brain and the mind are pretty much one and the same. (The "mind" just seems to be that "conscious-thought" part of the brain.) I tend to believe this "materialist" hypothesis too (though I have really not read up on or studied the subject, just contemplated it), but I also would love to find cause to believe that I am a "soul," and not just a conglomeration of matter that will be inert upon my death. This could get really philosophical. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

OMG I have to get that! Our newspaper has had Get Fuzzy for only a short time, and I love it! Bucky Katt is one of the funniest characters ever in a comic.

I thought you were talking about zeroing it like getting rid of all the previous data. I had to do that with the one I got second-hand (or rather third-hand). It involved setting all the altitude alarms to zero before it would let me delete the logbook. What is it you were trying to do? Change the numbers of the jumps that had been recorded? It's so hard to retain the trick to doing every function on that thing. It's a little more complicated than a digital watch. Maybe they coulda put one or two more buttons on the thing... -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Police paid a visit to my house yesterday afternoon...

All these stories of bright kids figuring out so early how to call 911 just reminds me, sadly, of that little girl whose father killed her mother and she called 911 and told the police what happened. I wonder how she is doing right now. Sorry to bring you all down... Real life sadness has this way of intruding... -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... That is an adorable story -- but I'm sure it was kinda scary for you at the time, what with all those kilos of uncut Peruvian blow in your crawlspace... Blue skies, and don't let 'em take you alive! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
You sure can rely on me for vibes, e-hugs, and whatever else you need, girly. You know how to reach me.

If there wasn't a basic accepted correct spelling for any of those words, they would be total nonsense, totally meaningless. It's only because there IS a correct spelling for each word that we recognize "oh, that's just a jumble of XXXXX word's correct spelling." So yeah, spelling is still important. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Close your eyes (wait, not just yet, read the rest of my intructions first and then close your eyes!) and imagine you are standing in front of an Asteroids video game in an arcade. There's no doubt in my mind that you can picture -- even feel -- exactly what those buttons looked like, and how they felt under your fingers. Video game buttons are an icon burned deeply into the memory of anyone who was about 6 years old or older starting in the '70s... I might as well have one of those buttons mounted on my body, that's how familiar they are to me and how ingrained in my psyche. Hey, by the way, reminisce with me about some of your favorite games from the late '70s through the '90s. I'll start: Elevator Action

Oh, and, um, the button shoes are really cute, too!

You mean like when you crawl in and then the hood closes on you and you're there in the dark with the engine? Here's an idea: get a prop rod! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Ah! A real car, that can actually be worked on by the user! Honey, you just shot up a few major points!

If that's what it takes, you know it, you're willing to do it, no matter what gets in your way..... A freakin men! Robbing banks tonight, sweetie??????? Call me... I'm in! Anyone have a good "Point Break" quote right now ? "Dude! I... am an FBI... agent!" -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Yes, and it's so easy to convey across a room to a girl. Usually I just wear my "I'm determined to get what I want out of life and nobody is gonna keep me from it!" t-shirt. It saves me having to keep that determined look in my eye all night. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Absolutely! Umm, I'm going over to work on a friend's car tomorrow because she doesn't know how. Blues, Dave Dude, give it up. Filling it with gas doesn't count! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Would you cheat on your SO for Carmen Electra?

Don't worry. The warts you have to have the doctor freeze off your pecker every so often will be a constant reminder. So by all means... cheat! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

LOL! Too true, my friend. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
Come on, there's gotta be a fine line there, when you say you want him to jump out on the dance floor even if he looks stupid. How stupid can he afford to look before you back away without making eye contact and head for the employees' exit?! No, seriously, I have to say that I get more into her if I feel that we are just, well, connecting. You know, when I feel like I am free to be myself because she fully accepts whatever it is that we find I am. To be able to be stark naked together with someone and know that anything you want to explore is within bounds, that's hot!... When she's eager to explore and lets me know it, that's even hotter! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

There was $30 in the till when the guys headed to the room. $5 was taken out to give back. That leaves $25 in the till, $3 back to the guys, and $2 to the huckster bellhop with no ethics. Still a total of $30. edit: Why the fuck you gotta make this so complicated?! -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Can't vote hypothetically if we don't have a S.O.? That ain't hardly fair! No fuckin' way. Cheaters are pieces of shit self-absorbed human detritus. How one can do that to someone they love who loves them and still think of themselves as a good person... I don't get it. I cheated in college, on a girl I was in love with. It was stupid; I confessed it to her even though she could never have known, because I was not going to live lying to her -- I thought we had a long-term to live out. We broke up because of it, and then got back together. And I will never again cheat as long as I live. I can't do that kind of hurt to another person, and I can't live with myself if I do that. Who gives a flying fuck if the other woman is hot and famous? It shouldn't matter, and when I'm with the next person I fall in love with, it won't. -Jeffrey -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
Heh. I had to chuckle when it came up with this. A guy with a foot fetish, being told he's a sock. "...to warm up their feet."
