Holy shit! Actor Chris Penn found dead!
peacefuljeffrey replied to peacefuljeffrey's topic in Speakers Corner
You need to look harder before making ridiculous accusations like that, then. Maybe having seen me be discompassionate sometimes has closed your eyes to the times I've been compassionate, and now you are simply seeing what you want to see. Yeah, that's about right. I've offered "vibes," and "awwws" and "hope it works out for yous" all over "the boards." Just because you aren't looking, or fail to notice, doesn't change that fact. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

He always did seem rather porky. But there I go, being uncompassionate again... - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
I'm starting to wonder if he got banned from speakers corner. Nope, actually, I've refrained from the personal attack-ish stuff and have been thus far unindicted. Actually, it may have been a miscalculation to put this thread here, and I wouldn't object to it being moved. Is it that big a deal? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Why is it that you feel I should be singled-out as someone who is not entitled to feel that my views are correct? Aren't you doing the same, when you point out your disagreement with the way I am, and what I say and espouse? For what it's worth, I have NEVER said that people are not entitled to free speech. Where you got that one, I'll never understand. I think it's a strawman you just constructed. But really, above, you are just doing to me what you are in the middle of chastising me for doing. You're saying that I don't allow people to be how they are and feel how they do, and in so doing, you're condemning me for being how I am and feeling how I do. Nope, no hypocrisy there... - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I'm totally lost - WTF did Sean Penn do that made the family look like morons? Same sort of thing that Alec Baldwin did to make his family look good. Spout off ignorant shit about the very same country that permitted him to make his fortune. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

Your reasoning in several posts in this thread is not so distant from the way Al Qaeda justifies its actions. Whatever. If you can't tell the difference, I doubt I or anyone here can help you learn how. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

Uhm, trouble with reading comprehension? I said that SEAN is making THE FAMILY LOOK like morons -- not that Chris was a moron. It was a joke. Against SEAN. I don't know any reason to dislike Chris. At least he wasn't always spouting ignorant anti-American shit after using what this country offers to make millions of dollars. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Google agrees to censor search results in China -- because it apparently values MONEY over LIBERTY Fuckin' scumbags. They want access to a huuuuge market, so it's okay to go along with unconscionable human rights abuse, including censorship. They should be fuckin' ostracized for this. Talk about the ultimate display of absence of ethics and morality. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

SICK of his idiot brother Sean making the family look like fuckin' morons...? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

This is straight from an expatriate BRITON, everyone. Take note. He mentioned shit that the rest of us didn't even know was going on. Hey, I have an idea, let's ignore it and talk only about how intrusive the U.S. GOVERNMENT has been lately... and mention nothing of the British government, which has us beat by a few thousand miles... - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... So you're against Big Brother in one sense... and for Big Brother in another sense. Those cameras don't deter crime -- they relocate it. To where there aren't cameras. And Britain's crime rate has increased to the point where a person is more likely to be a crime victim there than in the U.S. How is it, again, that those cameras have caused crime to decrease? Is it actually just a slowing of the increase that would have been occurring that you mean? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

Why? You're not armed. You're under orders to run away if someone's armed. Why the fuck should I be scared of you? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

That's the absurd part. If you don't like the fact that I consider myself at war with you and free to kill you in any situation whatsoever, what are you gonna do about it? Declare war on me??! It's absurd on its face that in WAR, I have to be NICE to you about the way I'm trying to kill you. I'M FUCKING TRYING TO KILL YOU!!!!!! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -
Oh please... Your incessant implication that the U.S. is the only country doing things that deserve contempt is beyond absurd. Why are you a one-note piano when it comes to this? Why always, "The USA is horrible, the USA is horrible," but no contempt for Cuba, Rwanda, Sudan, any number of arab states, any number of Eastern European states... ad nauseum? The U.S.A. is not "about" abuse and sinister motives and slavery and blah blah blah as you characterize it. Our CONSTITUTION says what the U.S.A. is about, and that is about the noblest government document on the face of the earth. It's not anyone in particular's fault that somehow government bureaucracy, corruption and greed have managed to get a foothold. The responsibility belongs to THE PEOPLE to fight against them, and remove them. Remember the admonitions of the Founders, who said that we have a responsibility to fight and disobey unjust laws, and to remove a tyrannical government from power if it oppresses the People. Funny thing is, the same people who argue that we are under a dictatorship (the Left) argue against the ownership of the guns we may someday need to remove it from power. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... For the sake of argument, what if they did that in order to expose the injustice that the Chinese will imprison a person for nothing more than forwarding a government memo to foreigners? I heard on the radio that the reason Google refuses to give the info is that because of the algorithms that Google's searches use, users would be identifiable, whereas with Yahoo they would not be. So the info given by Yahoo would not be able to be tracked to anyone, but if Google gave up theirs, the info would be trackable to users. Is this the "rest of the story"? Maybe. I dunno. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

I wouldn't say I am "into" piercings, but my girlfriend has both nipples done (done before we met) and I went with her and got my left nipple pierced. I do like having it, although there seems to be always maintenance to do for it -- to keep it from getting sort of crusted in place and all. Always with the Bactine to keep it moist. I've had it since June 19th, and whenever I think it's totally healed, it seems to have the wound channel get torn up again... But at least it doesn't hurt at all. It's sort of fun to fiddle with.

The song describes the US in as negative a light as possible, but sure as hell doesn't reflect today's complete picture by any means. It also fails to note that many of the things that it condemns the U.S. for doing are done in many other countries, and sometimes to far worse degree. For example, is the U.S. the only country in the world to have slavery? Nope. And ours was abolished 150 or so years ago. There are countries that have it going on NOW. Amazing that GENOCIDE is still going on in countries around the world -- countries are still ruled, in poverty, by ACTUAL DICTATORS -- and people berate the U.S., and call Bush a "dictator." Way to cheapen the word's meaning. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

That seems to be a knee-jerk reactionary statement. How can that be axiomatically true? What if those incumbents are DOING A GREAT JOB?! Should they be removed from power simply for being incumbents? How much sense does that make? How about we just "show the door" to ANY government that is corrupt and ineffective? You know, whether they're incumbents or not? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

Before you can be a "guiding light," you have to survive and thrive. Sometimes in order to just manage that, you have to be pretty darned fierce and nasty. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!" -

But I guess it is OK to kill an enemy general in interrogation. He was probably a terrorist. If you're in a war, it's okay to shoot him dead, or fire a missile at his building and have him crushed beneath tons of rubble. So one kind of "dead" is worse than another kind of "dead"? Help me figure this out. If "being at war" means I can kill you, how can you object to being killed in any way at all, period? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
