  1. Since he prefaced that statement with one indicating it was his observation, I'd imagine that it's just one person's opinion. He has a right to say that. I also don't think he said that the conservatives were relentlessly grammar-free, just that there seemed to be more short sentences with very little attention to spelling in what he read. I would not consider your writing to be the least bit incorrect; I will admit, however, that vitriol seems to pour out every now and then. To my eyes at least. But what I see as vitriol is probably what you consider to be an honestly-expressed opinion. Wendy W. Don't you see that an "opinon" that claims to be observing factual data is no longer truly an opinion? If I observe a group of people talking calmly and in civil tones, and then later opine that the conservatives in the group were much more loud and were rude and obnoxious, what good does it do to say that it's my "opinion," if objectively everyone was behaving about the same? People hide their lies and distortions and biases behing this b.s. mask of "opinion" all the time. If you have a proper, functioning definition of "opinion," often they look pretty laughable. My "opinion" is that water is dry, sand is wet, and the sky is orange. You can't assail my point of view -- it's just my opinion! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... 2. We gotta blaym it on tha inbreding, kuzzin. Duz krazy things with tha jeenes. - Hmmm, looks like sarcasm, you turning leftie? Yep. Four left turns from where I'm headed, and I should be right on course again! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  3. The city was already HUGELY disrupted by the convention and accompanying security, I seriously doubt that the presence of the protesters really made much difference, if at all. Isn't there a difference between the "disruption" of normal city events due to a huge event that is being logistically managed to keep everything running as smoothly as possible, and deliberate efforts to keep things from running smoothly and to cause embarrassment and hassle for the Republicans engaged in the convention? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... 4. Didn't good ol' Bill kill people when he launched missiles at an aspirin factory to take the country's mind off his blowjob and subsequent perjury? By the way, liberal, your last ... *ahem* ... "sentence" pretty aptly fits the description of what narcimund accused the conservatives of writing. Try proofreading before you hit send and make him look all...wrong and stuff. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"

  6. I suspect that's probably because most of the sarcasm-spewers (that "humor" you think you are reading is really sarcasm, hon. It's the trademark of the intellectually-bankrupt leftist. It's not our fault that because we see through them, we don't find them funny. Now Lewis Black -- HE'S funny! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  7. And with a most satisfied grin, I rest my case. Yeah, okay. That wouldn't be a "shit-eating grin" by any chance, would it? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  8. Ironic nature? I didn't catch any irony nor sarcasm in his post. There was a grammatical error or two, but no irony. He flat out was just saying that Democrats behave better than Republicans, and are more articulate in expressing their views, and I took issue with the indictment. I have no problem asserting that I am very articulate, and I don't think it's smug or arrogant to say so; it's just true, like some people are fine musicians or sculptors or swoopers. His statement comes off, to me, as just a load of malarkey from a biased source. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  9. Then none of them should be elected Botellines, we already knew that. We have no one else to choose from. Do you believe that any of your country's politicians deserved to be elected? They are the same all over the world. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  10. What a bunch of incompetent motherfucking MORONS!! I am so fucking angry right now I could chew cinderblocks (and you know how angry I normally seem!)!! Power went out for me rather late into the hurricane -- about 1 a.m. Sunday. Amazingly, it was restored by 3 p.m. Sunday! We were all very relieved, and the point was driven home by the fact that as of today, I knew people in my town who still did not have power. But today around 4 p.m. (Wednesday), after having three days of solid, restored electric power, THEY FUCKED SOMETHING UP AND NOW IT'S OFF AGAIN, AND IT HAS BEEN FROM 4 P.M. TODAY THROUGH THIS MINUTE, 3 A.M. THURSDAY!! Oh, and it's ONLY MY SIDE of ONLY THIS FUCKING BLOCK! Right across the motherfucking street, they have power! What kind of piece of shit incompetent motherfuckers does FP&L have to be to get the power RE-failed?!?! I hope those fuckers die frying, hanging from a fucking bucket truck. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  11. Oh, yes, I love it when people complain about the number of people in jail, like it's a bad thing. Um, people, if these folks hadn't DONE STUFF that got them put in jail, they'd be as free as you or me! Would you rather that people who committed crimes were NOT put in jail? I say, whatever number of people commits crimes, that's the number that belongs in jail! If it's high, it's high! Tell the population to stop being criminals, and it will go down! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  12. I have no idea how that disappeared since I just quoted the prior post. Musta happened when I put the boldness in place. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  13. So when it comes to bashing the enemy, it's ok to be psychic and speculate. But when you're given a direct question concerning your man, you're all of a sudden incapable of forming any opinions. Hmmmm. Interesting. Sound one sided to you? HOLY SHIT good point! He may not have chimed in here in this thread, but billvon is very fond of saying, "The conservatives will say blah blah blah..." as though he psychically knows our minds... So yes, it's very profound that you point out how reticent the leftists get when it comes to assessing and ascribing motives of their own candidate. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  14. I think you meant, "When I am osting in quick bursts trying to work...it's the best I can do." - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  15. Weren't you just in another thread claiming that Bush supporters can't put a sentence together to go to hell? What the fuck does THIS one mean? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  16. You can go ahead and believe what a person who's called "Kitty" claims. I myself choose not to. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  17. If Kerry had anything of substance with regard to issues that he could discuss, don't you think he wouldn't have BOLTED from the GATE boasting of his Vietnam service accolades?! - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  18. Style and decency, he talks about... as he informs us with such incredible pomposity that we're going to hell. Who gives a flying shit what you think? - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  19. I think your observations/conclusions are way off-base, not only because I am anti-Kerry (and sorta pro-Bush) and my spelling, grammar, construction and syntax are generally top-notch here, but because I have seen nasty, snide, spiteful vitriol and baiting coming from the Kerry side every bit as much as from the Bush side. I don't know what made you think you were qualified to be the arbiter of which side is more civil, but it came off as laughable, to me. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  20. This has nothing to do with "a few states," and Brent overstated the "illegality" of automatic weapons. They are known as "Class III" firearms, or "NFA" (National Firearms Act) firearms. Back in 1934 is when they were put under FEDERAL control. If you can get a Class III permit, which involves getting a judge or police chief to authorize the permit, and you are willing to pay a $200 tax on any and all individual Class III purchases, you CAN own fully automatic firearms (and silencers, which fall into this category). This is a federal thing, not a state-by-state thing. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  21. I disagree on the first part -- and steadfastly hope you are wrong. On the final part, I disagree -- I think things that make life enjoyable should be the highest priority. The things that make the world go around (commerce, etc.) should be relegated to being, simply, the things we do so that we can spare the leisure to do the things that make life beautiful and fun. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  22. I know you didn't mean that to be funny but I find it hilarious I saw some people a few weeks ago, landing just after I did, only a few yards away, and even though I know they have more jumps than I do, and are better freeflyers than I am, and fly higher loaded, elliptical canopies (I fly a Lotus 170 at 1.12: 1) I watched these two landings and thought, "MAN that was crappy!" I mean, guys with experience flaring too high like it was their 3rd AFF level or something. One of them came in and almost trod right across my friend's canopy as it lay there deflated. (He came in through the 20 foot space between my friend and his own jump partner.) Now, maybe I am a bit blessed because I had flight training well before I ever skydived, and I have a nice smooth flare and good judgment and perception about when and where to do it (I haven't stumbled a landing in probably about 90 jumps). But that makes me really edgy when I see others come in, flare to high, and I half expect to hear a sick *snap* when they hit grass. I am lucky to have never witnessed any severe injury or death, and I hope I have some sort of aura around me that keeps me and those around me safe in that respect. I'd love to go an entire skydiving career (life) never having anyone I know and anyone near me get hurt. But geez, some people really should know how to land a parachute by now, and don't. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  23. When I "rubberneck" a car crash, I don't slow down from my standard 70mph the way the idiots always do (which forces me to do it nevertheless). I can't understand how an accident -- even on the other side of the road, much less on the shoulder of our side -- causes people to slow to a stop on an interstate. The only reason I am ever looking is to see if the person who was idiot enough to fuck up on a big straight stretch of highway bad enough to wreck (probably because (s)he was reading, jabbering on a cellular phone, putting on makeup, or something stupid like that) ate pavement or not. I'm not very forgiving of highway stupidity, and usually the only reason you see wrecks being rubbernecked on a highway is because someone was a goddamned fuckup. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  24. I hadn't checked any of that. Are you saying that it's a made-up page? I was thinking it'd be funny as hell to email them about it! Ask if the puppies come with the property!! Blue skies, - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
  25. The only reason this law ever had any support among the public was precisely because news people and politicians lied about what it was written to ban. You are proof that they give the false impression that it banned automatic weapons, when in fact those have been nearly banned since the year 1934. Your news people lied to you in order to deceive you. No kidding? The thing I wonder is, why do people like you with admitted near-zero knowledge or understanding of guns support laws like this when they are clueles about the technical details. Do you have any idea how many times I, and people I know, have had to correct non-gun-owners about what this bad law actually did? It's pretty bad form, to support -- or think you support -- a law when you don't even understand it, and when you don't understand the items being controlled by it. Maybe now you won't just blindly accept what your lying newspeople imply in their bullshit, political-agenda-driven stories. How about: - I'm not a criminal, and don't use guns criminally, so no one should worry about me and my rifle any more than they worry about me and a can of gasoline - these are fun guns to fire at the range - many of them ARE able to be used for hunting, and if not, still are used for target competition, or just plain "fun-plinking" - they are extremely well-suited for self- or home-defense - they are extremely well-suited for civil defense - there is scarcely any functional difference between these guns and guns not on the "banned" list You're lucky I even bothered to list these reasons for you -- I am not fond of being challenged to justify my use of a RIGHT. - -Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... Hard line, hard line after hard line!"
