Also 5 things break down oil; Heat, water, air, carbon and salt. Most oils are hydrogonized or paired fats. That has been linked to an increase of prostate cancer in men and breast cancer in women. Spectra is also designed to mimic silk only stroger. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

I'll limit this to six 1.) Egdar Allen Poe used that word in a poem about bells. 2.) Eodipus is ancient greek for swollen foot 'cause he was found hanging by his feet from a tree limb. - That's why I'm turned on when my Mum wears really small shoes! 3.)Doc Martin doesn't make Doc martin shoes. They only make soles. 4.)The rear door locks on a 727 are called Cooper locks (guess why!) 5.)Window glass is now formed by pressing the sheets between two hot slabs. Old glass was put through rollers. That's why in an old house the origional windows appear warped and ripple. 6.)Rolex sold more units after they raised their prices One night at the DZ while drinking, the DZ discovered my secret. Pick a topic and I'll know at least one useless fact about it. We played for hours! I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

I think there's something in my eye Reminds me of my cat Scamper, same age, same colour, same size. He and I lost our friend Brimstone a couple of years ago the same way and it's still hard. Hope Scamp stays with me a while. He keeps me going. He's all I got now. I feel your loss, there is no replacement. Take care. I think you'll find lots of people who have non typical body sizes end up with thier MLW to long on student gear. It's a freakin' epidemic! I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

Poorly fitted student gear is a real petpeeve of mine. I find that any time someone gears you up, they almost always have the MLW(main lift web)too long. I have seen jumpers with a 1000+ jumps stretch out the MLW on people with short torsos. (often becuase they are wider or broader than average) If you have a larger frame (not so much tall) than average, chances are your gear isn't being adjusted correctly. Because the MLW is for torso length and not girth, elongating it lowers the hip junction too much. The end result is that the leg strap sits horizontally across the leg. On opening, however, it moves to a more diagonal orientation twisting and pinching the leg. That's probably why you're more comfortable with your ankles crossed; it puts your knees out to the side and the leg strap can't pinch as much. That is how bruising and pinched nerves and arteries happen. The next time you have gear put on you, make sure that the point where the lateral strap and the MLW meet (they form a cross on your side) is around your hip bone and don't overtighten. That should put the leg strap at the same angle it will be in while you're under canopy. Let me know how it goes.

I once had a student land with wicked line twists and then tell me it wasn't possible to kick out of line twists. He said the technique doesnt work cause his twist kept getting worse. I asked if he tried kicking the other way and he looked at me confused. Then he told me I shouldn't teach the kicking tecnique to students because it doesn't work. *sigh* On thing for sure, I now teach to kick the other way if the twist gets worse! I thought the tread started as a question about becoming desensitized to fatalities. It does happen. Not because anyone is a bad person. Some of us that are desensitized also feel guilt about it. We shouldn't, we should help others move on and learn the lesson that prevent a fatality from becoming meaningless. Questions about motivation behind sympathy came later with erroneous interpretations of the motivations of the thread. Noone want to get good at doing funerals but some of us are. And we hate the fact the we keep pulling our "good suit" out of mothballs. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

Ah yes, PRO packing. It stands for Proper Ram-air Organization. Unless you're sloppy in which case it stands for Prepare for Reserve Operation lol I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

We all know what we're supposed to say and here is is; You should never stop caring, Skydiving is about embracing life ...yadda yadda yadda...blah, blah, blah. Here's the reality from someone who knows. When we lose a friend or loved one, it's devastating. The concept that they are gone is so foreign that we have a hard time functioning for a while. We get mad, sad, and basically run the gammit of emotion. I remember, after losing about 5 friends and family (also my dog) in 3 months, that towards the end I statred to feel quite numb. I don't know if it was all the emotional highs and lows I went through or what, but I do remember feeling a great deal of guilt. I felt guilty that I wasn't as sad as I thought I should be. My first friend to die wasn't closer to me than my last but I didn't feel the loss as great. It was almost as if I couldn't feel anymore. I was burnt out. Now, whenever someone I know dies, I tend to think more clearly than others around me. I get over the loss quicker. I find that this often allows me to be there for others. It helps me put things into greater perspective. When I think of them, it also helps me focus on their life and not their death. If you feel less and less with each death, it's not cause you jaded, or cold. Unfortunately, it's cause you're used to it and it has less impact. I remeber them, they were fronted, I believe, by Shaun Cullins (the fat one). If you like them, you'll like Captain Tractor (last saskatchewan pirate) and The Arrogant Worms who sang song such as "carrot juice is murder" and "Jesus' brother Bob" Captain tractor may have a few too many canadian farming reference though! Arrogant worms are more US listener friendly. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

They are only dangerous when they think inaction will cost them everything. At that point they have nothing lose by taking action and everything to lose if they don't I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

I was using those number to illustrate a point. The reality is that there are hundreds of DZs and skyride own 300+ websites and the number is growing. What make thing worse is that to launch a lawsuit, I have to do it in another country, in a state that would take me about 40 hours to drive to! I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

OK. My DZ is in Manitoba, a stones throw away from North Dakota. A lot of our customer are from North Dakota. We have spent thousand of dollars advertising "Adventure Skydiving" on the radio and on campus' as well as spending time driving down to do displays and so on. Our website looks like this www.339jump.com They put up this website www.northdakotaskydiving.com People from Northdakota who enjoyed our service tell their friends who find that site instead of us. The money we pour into advertising our name in North Dakota send potential jumpers to the nonexistant DZ website. You don't think that's theft? You think that people know the difference between us and them? They are stealing the marketing, hard work and effort we put into promoting our DZ. And all in cost them was a domain name and 5 min. of cut and paste! You don't think I have a right to be a tad pissed? ps THATS MY FREAKIN LOGO! I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

Good question. Take a look at thiswww.tnskydiving.comthem www.339jump.comus We've changed it a little since they copied (we enlarged itto fit more displays) it but you get the idea! p.s. yes, that is me on their site! I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

I agree. A small DZ may have less instructors and airpower to be viable at AFF. 1 JM, 1 radio controller and a couple of packers can easily do 60 IAD/static line students in one day out of a 182 (been there, done that). Yesterday, I dispatched 23 IAD students in less than two and a half hours. Could 2 Instructors handle 23 AFF students in the same amount of time? To be viable with AFF, the DZ prices would have to be through the roof! BTW, $2000 US will get you about 50 jumps on our IAD progression. How many is that on the AFF program at most DZs? (I'm really curious, I'm not being snotty) I'm pretty sure that's more jumps and skill acheived even if the progression takes longer. I'm not saying that AFF or even PFF is inferior to IAD/SL, I'm just saying that it is a proven method, it is less cost prohibitive, and it is the most viable option for smaller DZs. Next, they'll say we suck 'cause all we got is a bug smashing cessna! I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
-
Actully, they're skimming internet traffic from legit DZs. They have a large number of site under DZ names that don't exist. I know, they have over 23 sites that are direct clones of my website. They use our logo, pictures, and on some sites I'm at the top banner with the meta tag "Tim, Chief Instructor!" That takes stones! If there are two DZs in a given market and 8 web sites (6bogus with Skyride numbers) then they will get a large percentage of the calls and the bookings. These sites don't add to Skydiving awareness through bold marketing, they canabalize web traffic from an already established medium. They are making money by saturating the internet with their bogus sites and directing potential jumpers through an unnessisary middleman and skimming the take. DZs would make more money and students would get better value if they didn't exist. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

And call me at 204 479 3483. Tim Eason Adventure Skydiving Their clone sites have me as their chief Instructor. Man, I must really get around. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

200 quid for a bloody Tandem in the UK? I'm moving back home! At my DZ in Canada, we charge $189 which converts to about 80 pound! 1300 pound, which is about $2900 CDN would get you about 50 jumps in our IAD progression but it would take you quite a while to do it. WOW, 200 pound! I'm calling the family, I'm taking a working vacation! Anyone need a TI? I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. -
I believe 254 lbs ... or was that rhetorical? I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

ah yes.. a Silhouette! That's it, Thanks. To mant PD canopies starting with S I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

Having loaded a Firebolt 396 at 500+lbs(1.26) I can tell you that it has different flight characteristics than say a 146 at the same loading. When I was a younger lad, I loaded a 170 stilletto at just over 1.0. The firebolt tandem doesn't fly like that at 1.0. Secondly, if you demo the Firebolt and find that it isn't for you, PD is making a canopy for the SarTecs in Canada. I believe it's based on the ?Spectre? It's a bigun'! Finally, your best bet for a Tandem canopy is to go through the manufacturer ie:Mike Forsythe. There aren't any dealer rates for Tandem gear. It's not the type of stuff that a dealer massmarkets like sport gear. Tandem equipment should be controlled by and in the domain of the manufacturer and it is.
