  2. Technically that isnt his place to ask. I give that a big fat whatever. 1.) Her fiscal irresponsibility is demeaning his word, and landlord/tenant trust. 2.) She is showing a pattern (2 bounced checks). 3.) She doesn't show enough respect to get her dumb ass up and handle the situation, instead choosing to go to class. Class if for suckers anyways!!!! 4.) She suspected that this issue would occur, but didn't even alert him to the fact! Childish! Have her handle it tonight, and if she doesn't, maybe it's time for dad to start a direct deposit. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

But John, what does the AMA have to say about rocket planes. Those are really slick though. If estes rockets weren't so expensive, and I wasn't afraid to pour my own, I'd actually consider those.
  4. I've watched it a couple times on Discovery. This guy is definately from crazytown USA. Then again, I knew a lot of crazies when I lived in AK, so maybe being cooped up in dark winters and homemade moonshine had something to do with it. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

I think if you go with the raptor, I wouldn't get the SE, kinda eliminates the reasons for buying a cheap to fix heli like the raptor in the first place you know? There'll be a little more slop in the head, but not painfully so, in my opinion. I love my little raptor .30. I've not really heard about the Hyper .50. .50 is a good choice, I'd say everything you've heard is probably correct. The 9103 JR's are awesome, I have a couple 8013's and they can do pretty much anything I'd ever need for mixing. As for the thrust bearings, we've replaced all bearings (my initial thought after replacing the fan shroud was that something was wrong in the power line). It's currently hanging on the wall, so I could care less. I do have to say that I really love the weight and torque behind my xcell gasser. It's nice to be able to go to the field with a can of gas, the heli, and the transmitter, and be set for the day. There is a guy who flys out at our field who has the vario turbine conversion, and god if that thing isn't sex on a stick. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

You know, we had that problem on only one of our raptors, and it was a hell of an issue to resolve. Come to think of it, I don't know if we ever came up for a fix for it. Constantly trying different fans and shrouds, mixtures, etc. On all our other machines, it's has been a non-issue, though we typically run really rich. Definately not an issue on my fuel or gasser xcells. That's some real nice looking paint though, those anodized parts really shine it up (I bet you notice drastically less as compared to a stock head too!) .jim .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Never been much of a hirobo fan, at all. Rapters are the jam. Tons of cheap upgrade parts available, with a lot of the pros using them as practice helis. Seriously, I couldn't think of a cheaper heli to fix, when you need to. And with 3D, you will need to. Don't know much about the skyskipper. Couldn't find that much on the internets about it either, though I wasn't looking that hard. What's making you lean towards a .50 over a .60+? Are you able to do CCPM with your radio? I am a REALLY big fan of direct linkages like that over mechanical mixing. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Does anybody here have good experience/thoughts on 3D indoor electrics? I'd be interested in investing, but not if they suck. I can definately handle CCPM, and would prefer that, and symmetric blades. Suggestions? As for the governer, those I have used, but only for our little foamie airplane that has adjustable pitch. It's pretty sweet to go into a hard reverse. Like I said, my experience with electric helis is just a little outdated. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  9. Out of curiosity, for anybody who has seen the movie (If you have haven't and intend to, stop reading as I may spoil it). When Ennis hears of Jack's death, was he actually beaten to death, or did he remember how the guy died when he was young, and assumed that's how he died? Are we not supposed to know? Anybody? Bueller? Good movie, I thought. But jeez cowboys are violent. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

I think it is HILARIOUS that you describe the floppy chicken dance. Is this a description all RC heli pilots just know from birth? Seriously, I've never seen it described anywhere, but EVERY heli pilot I know has used it. I suppose it is an extremely accurate description though. As for winging off a blade, HOLY HELL! Probably not something you would have appreciated while hovering at eye level. Did it not have blade grips on there? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

I guess it has always been my impression that it's nice to maintain those head rpms, and the only electrics I've flown bogged down pretty quick without that extra momentum. Then again, I haven't flown a li-poly/brushless, so I might just be stuck in the old days. For my gasser and glow, I definately enjoy a little more weight in the blades. The drag blades have 80 grams of lead in the tip, and I think the V-blades (which I use solely for 3D) are also pretty heavy too. P.S - Raptors are the bomb.com when it comes to maintenance/fixing. I cry a little when I crash my carbon xcell. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

Try driving out to your field (45+minutes away), only to have the wing get snapped in half by a bystander 5 year old. NOT impressed. As a quick aside: To any looking to get into 3D helis, the biggest improvement I can suggest is getting some decent weight in your blades (If you're going electric). You are really relying on keeping up the rotor rpms, and those little foamie blades kinda suck. Or just go gas and buy some v-blades and the lightest paddles you can find.

  17. Good call, I will check them out. I thought most of them were pretty damn big though (like the size of a DVD case). added in: I just checked out a bunch of different varios, and it appears that they are all limited to about 1-2000 ft/minute... Probably not within present wingsuit speeds I'd imagine, and even if so, the resolution wouldn't be good enough for us to notice? Oh well. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  18. Yah, BillVon directed me towards the Titan. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of something audible, rather than visual display. Funny enough, I was thinking the exact same thing for wingsuits and HUD when I saw the EZrocket racing. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  19. Hey Guys (and Gals), Got a quick question about wingsuit flight (not there yet, but it is an upcoming goal). Are there currently any devices that give you real-time feedback regarding your fallrate and/or forward speed? I'm thinking along the lines of a device that is worn like an audible, but produces a tone that changes as your fallrate increases or decreases, allowing you more feedback and input on fallrate. Does such a thing exist? Is such a thing necessary, or can you just "feel" it? As an aside, I'm not talking about freefall computers that let you dump the jump data afterwards. Also, I'm not really referencing the HUD that alit2 has coming out: I'm looking for good feedback with minimal visible distraction. Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks! .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

  23. Steve, The website looks great, I like the layout for sure. It is a little too "(e)xtreme" for my tastes, though I can understand appealing to a demographic. With that said, I couldn't help but laugh and think of this page: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=xtreme_bullshit It does look good though. Measure your throws, and adjust as necessary. That or go into exponential throws (though I'm not a fan). My dad is really getting into the 3d electrics, and i have to say, that is rediculous fun for the cost, plus there's nowhere you can't fly them. The only thing that sucks are the requirements for li-polys. Ron, How do you like the Shogun? Raptors and xcells are pretty common around where I used to fly. I just brought my 2 xcell 60's out here, one with a YS91, and a gasser. Care for a couple drags? .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
  25. Probably not the dumbest thing I ever did, but pretty damn stupid for doing it over and over again... I was the kid that: 1.) Always knocked down a HUGE beehive and got stung, a lot, EVERY year. 2.) Licked the outside handrail and lost a good amount of tounge, at least a couple times, EVERY year. 3.) Slid down our very long driveway on my sled, and went under the car, getting hacked up in the process, EVERY year. Seeing a trend? The dumbest thing I did as a kid was probably just being a dumbass. .jim "Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC
