  1. So all those Iraqiis who dance in the street in celebration every time they ambush and kill Americans, are not Muslims? Those men who just brutally beheaded an American civilian, on video, are not Muslims? I'll be happy to honor any Muslims who speak out against murder and terrorism. As soon as I can find some of them... uh huh - and just because some Irish are in the IRA, a terrorist organization, that makes all Irish terrorists? This is the same logic and irrational thought you are using for Muslims. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 2. Well, medically I wouldn't be on the front lines due to scoliosis and issues relating to that. Also, I am 31 and generally considered out of the age group that would be drafted. However, with the first gulf war there was talk of the draft for a short period of time - I would have gone if called up just for legal reasons. Funny, I'm curious how long I would have been with them before I ended up in jail - my personality doesn't fit in with the military mindset and I would have spoken my mind. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 3. Why do you think I have been spending 5 days a week in the gym for the last month??? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
  4. He could still do tandems at a USPA DZ, he just wouldn't be able to do any "real" instructor jumps, Cat A/Cat B tandems for the ISP. Atleast that's how it sounded to me when I read it in the books. That's how I have read it as well - and that has got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever read. Think about it - You can take someone on a skydive, place them in harms way and literally have a chance to kill them and the USPA is ok with that....but if you try to sign off a student progress card! Somehow sitting in a class for three days teaching you to become a USPA mouthpiece will make you a better instructor? Somehow those two eval jumps will qualify you to debrief a student? Whatever! I've just spent the last couple of days reading over everything I would need to do to get my TMI rating and I don't see how this Coach Course would do anything for me. The only thing I see it is good for is making my wallett a bit lighter. My DZ doesn't use the ISP or have any Coachs...we have our AFP jumpmasters that take care of the students up their license which is the way it should be (re:safest). But because we are a USPA dz and RWS requires it, I need to take this class. I will most likely not be getting my TM anytime soon due to the BS and extra cost of this course. The course is a wast of time, money and doesn't truly eval your skill or knowledge (IT IS AN OPEN BOOK TEST!!!!!). Oh, and I have been told the "secret" to passing your eval jumps - just make sure you use the creepers and the mock up...and spend a decent amount of time on them. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 5. Thanks for the help Jeff. It will be a bittersweet weekend for me. I love helping the kids...but we will most likely be saying goodbye to a good friend that weekend as well. We lost one of the original TF "founders" to cancer earlier this year and the family wants us to do an ash jump for him. In my heart, I am dedicating this boogie to him..... _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
  6. woa!!! Who purchased some of my pictures??? I'm flattered! Let me know how they turn out from that service when you get them. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
  7. Under Internet Options, click the Content tab, then go to Auto Complete. Clear out forms and passwords, and uncheck which ones you do not want IE to save. I think that should fix your problem - auto complete is not saved the same way that cookies, history, etc, are saved. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 8. What's great is just how nice everyone at our Make A Wish chapter is.....they were hesitant at first about the skydiving bit, but now they look forward to coming out every year. Each of the last two years they have brought out the kids we were helping out. It's great watching them having fun at the dz...they both loved watching skydivers and both want to do it one day. The boy with cancer said we looked like popcorn in the air when the canopies opened. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 9. Thanks - imagine what I could do if I had a real camera and someone showed me how to use it _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
  10. With the tax break ($1500 if you have it in your possesion by end of year) and current gas prices - I woul save money after 2 1/2 years. Currently I am driving a 2003 Neon SXT. BTW - has anyone done a cost comparison to what we pay for bottled tap water and gas? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 11. Jeff, Thanks you so much! We will have the list of winners of the raffle on the web page shortly after the boogie, or you can email me to see if you won. Hope the DZ situation works out for you! Blue Ones... _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....

  14. You may want to ask around about that - you may not be allowed to pack unless you work for the packing stand. Don't forget, if you are not a rigger - you need to be in direct supervision of a rigger if you are not the one that will be jumping that canopy. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 15. $.22 increase in four days is normal??? $2.09 today and it was $1.59 about 45 days ago. While I may not be fully educated on inflation - methinks that is a royal f*cking ripoff. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 16. I've started to carry my camera around almost anywhere I go...just curious what ya'll think of them. DC-3 Lady Luck after the Storm: www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?c=mz350k5.81a5a0gp&x=0&y=s0s430 (no, she can't fly right now - broken wing) I'm most proud of the B&W photos in here. www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?c=mz350k5.3cc1wikh&x=0&y=-s854fn _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 17. I'm still getting a silver one Too bad the wait is over 6 months at the moment. When I left work this morning gas was 1.99 for 87, on the way home it was 2.09 after the crude oil price drop announcement. Usually the gas 75 miles outside of Chicago at the DZ is cheap and that was still 1.95 this weekend. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 18. Thank you - and it seems those that live in warmer climates bitch more about it than those in the North do. Val - this is Chicago, we very rarely get a spring. Fall and Spring are short a short one to two week break between summer and winter. The only thing that sucks about this weather is that its on a Monday, I'm stuck inside, and I can't jump and play with those beautiful clouds! _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 19. 1:3:0 HEY! I finally get to post jump numbers again. First jump since Feb 29th! 1 demo jump under a Vision 150, 3 jumps (2 RW, 1 Freefly). That wind was stupid - but I wish I knew you were out there, I would have said hello. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 20. Exactly, could not have said it better myself. You don't need to worry about most of that stuff anymore, it seems those days of the sport are gone for the most part..... But you sign a waiver that says you accept all risks. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't jump. Remember, skydiving is a luxury - you do not need to do it...you are placing yourself in danger. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 21. I had the same problem on my Nvertigo since the Protrack is outside the helmet. I found placing gaffers tape around it prevented any extra air (white noise) from sneaking into the hole in the helmet. Works like a charm now. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
  22. Hopefully the game is not as bad as the web page...I discovered a few bugs and load times were terrible. Plus, it is a console game and it really takes a lot for me to enjoy anything on a console these days....even Halo was better on the PC and worth the wait. Have you seen the addition to Rise of Nations or anything from Half Life 2 or even Doom 3? Not to mention Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 or the new Star Wars games??? _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... 23. You wanted to kick someone's ass because of your infected computer? Well, here is the guy and he is sitting at home (think you can take a teenager?): HANOVER, Germany (AFP) - An 18-year-old German man has confessed to creating the Internet Sasser worm which infected millions of computers worldwide last week, police said. The teenager, whom police have not identified by name, was arrested Friday after a raid on his house in Rotenburg, in the northern state of Lower Saxony, which turned up incriminating evidence. He was released from custody after questioning. The Sasser worm struck on May 1, and in less than a week affected thousands of companies and as many as 18 million computers worldwide, forcing some businesses to shut temporarily in order to debug their systems. The worm attacks through a flaw in recent versions of Microsoft's Windows operating systems -- Windows 2000 (news - web sites), Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP (news - web sites) -- and forces the computer into an unstoppable pattern of shutting down, then rebooting. It apparently does no lasting harm. _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
  24. What are you doing for the first long weekend of the season? Come out to Skydive Chicago Memorial Day Weekend to be a part of our Boogie! This is the Third Team Funnel Boogie and our goal once again is to raise money for Make-A-Wish and to have some fun, safe skydives! Our fundraising will include a charity raffle, a silent auction, dunk tank, live music, bake sale and an evening cook-out. If you've been to the Team Funnel Memorial Boogie before, you know there's tons of stuff I haven't mentioned here. It's all happening again this year. Things like the Bonfires, Organizing by World Champions, Camping, Canoeing, Jello Shots, Fishing, Swimming, and Skydiving (of course!). Even if you can't get to Skydive Chicago for the Memorial Day Boogie Weekend, you can still be a part of our weekend. We have set up a link on our web page that will allow you to help us raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation to help grant the wish for a child. You can either donate or purchase a raffle ticket for one of the variety of prizes we have gathered! For those that don't want to read the rest, here is the link: - Team Funnel Make A Wish Fundraiser Clicky or www.TeamFunnel.com for our homepage. A little history: Team Funnel is a loose organization of skydivers dedicated to the belief that no one should have to jump alone. We specialize in jumping with low-timers -- an informal free mentoring program with an emphasis on safety -- but go out of our way to make visitors feel at home as well. With an international membership spanning continents, whether visiting another drop zone or jumping at the DZ we call home, it is our mission to spread the joy and camaraderie that is skydiving. In the Fall of 2001, we lost three members to tragic accidents. In honor of these members, and in honor of all passed skydivers, Team Funnel holds the Team Funnel Memorial Boogie over Memorial Day weekend (last weekend of May) at Skydive Chicago, in Ottawa, Illinois. With an estimated 200 skydivers in attendance at each boogie the last two years, we have succeeded in raising over $14,000 making wishes come true for two children. Hope to see you there! Blue Skies, No Boundaries! _________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again.....
