6:2:0? 6 more days until I'm at the tunnel in Florida! 2 jumps, still doing flat spins. Hopefully the tunnel will fix that!! Learned to pack. Was just going to go call the dz this morning to make sure the ones I packed last night opened fine today. ~skysprite

3:4: a lot by now I'm sure... 1 new jumpsuit, 1 new altimeter, 1st time jumping from full altitude Saturday a 15 second delay, and a 15 second delay that was supposed to be 20 - realized that after I threw my pilot chute that duh, this is a 20 second not 15 you dummy! . Sunday the weather was a little funky with low-ish clouds so got out and did my first exit other than the poised exit off the strut. Got on the step, and pushed backwards into back loops. Man was that fun! So much that I stayed for another jump and my JM let me go to full altitude, same exit, told me not to count but to wave off at 4k, pull by 3.5, doing backloops, stability, backloops, etc all the way down. Also first time spotting! Not to mention my Dad came out today and got video from the ground...first jump I had an awesome landing, second jump I flared to high, released it by accident and zoomed forward about 5 ft above the ground, and made a big clunk. I did a plf so it didn't hurt that bad, but I guess the clunk was loud enough that everyone was shouting to me asking if I was okay. I didn't hear them - just popped up and started wrapping my lines. But guess which landing everyone wanted to see video of? And see it multiple times complete with "oohhhh ouch!" after each clunk. What an awesome weekend!! I can't even tell you how fucking cool everyone at SDNM is!!! ~skysprite

I'm not into scary/horror type movies so haven't seen your typical Halloween movies. It's tradition to watch Ernest Scared Stupid every year. ~skysprite

Good luck Kris! You'll do awesome! (Just finished up midterms myself!) ~skysprite

Oregon apparently has higher standards than New Mexico (surprise surprise!) for the GED tests... the math portion when I took the tests was extremely easy. There was maybe a pre algebra question, if even that! Math has never been my strongest suit, so I didn't compain. Good luck.

Woohoo! Gettin' ready to buy my tickets to Trans Siberian Orchestra for Dec 16th! One of our anchors on the morning show is Christmas crazy, and all she's been talking about lately are the upcoming holidays!

I'm right handed. My sister favored her left hand as a kid, but due to school and other influences she "became" right handed. My Dad is right handed, Mom is left. ~skysprite

I wanna see Voldemort get a Howler from Mrs. Weasly. ~skysprite

1:2: 1 possible new jumpsuit! Demo'ing it next weekend, then if I like it my sis has already agreed to buy it for me for an early birthday present! 2 awesome jumps! I'm still making slow turns unintentionally, but now I know why! It's my feet! Something to work on next weekend. ~skysprite

I can't see her killing off Hagrid, but it is a possibility. heh I did have to get used to the new actor in the third movie. His first speech back at Hogwarts was so not Dumbledore. It was too rushed. Dumbledore is thoughtful and very precise when he speaks. *shrug* ~skysprite

I wonder if JK Rowling will kill Dumbledore eventually, just to make the final battle (and/or the time leading up to the battle) more interesting. ~skysprite

Did this week go by pretty quickly or what?
skysprite replied to gravityizsexy's topic in The Bonfire
odd huh? ...... I'm curious, do tell... My Dad was in a pretty serious car accident Monday morning. The way it all happened to work out is nothing short of a miracle. He's "fine", in that he's mostly just bruised and sore, but the doctors are still running tests to find out what caused him to black out. But anyway blew off work and classes in order to help he and my mom out. Today was my first day back at class and I was so ill prepared. Midterms next week, papers, readings... It's all blah. Now I just want to get back into the air this weekend and try to improve on where I sucked so bad last weekend. (Who needs stability anyway?! ) The week is just kind of a blur. Oh wow!, glad to hear it went down like it did, but sad that it happened... nothing short of some of my worst nightmares. that'll put a twist on anyone's week, ask for your dives.... keep practicing 1, tony And now the perfect end to a weird week... I overslept and am late for work!! Arg! C'mon weekend! ~skysprite -

People have finally said I look, oh say, about 14 now... how about you?! That's okay, people like us won't have to lie about our ages later. ;) Happy Birthday Kelly! Hope you have a good one.

I typically do the speed limit or 5 over. If there is a bit of traffic I'll go with it, depending on how much they're speeding. When I was in LA though that was a different story. ~skysprite

Fitness people! How to minimize soreness from a workout?
skysprite replied to Rebecca's topic in The Bonfire
Just looked that up after you mentioned it. It looks pretty decent. Is it working for you? I'm taking weight training, as well as personal defense so I get a good work out two days a week. Unfortunately I haven't been able to slip in a workout the other days, except Saturday when I jump. (out landings . haha j/k Actually I am sore after three jumps this weekend - I typically only do one) Anyway just wondering how you're doing with this plan... I may have to pick up a copy and try it out myself. ~skysprite -
This very same thing happened to an instructor at my dz this weekend. His booty also got caught on the step of a C182. ~skysprite

0:3: 1 really horrible jump (I'll figure out this stability thing eventually ), 1 near perfect one after that (Got it! ), then 1 blah one (keep tryin!). ~skysprite
