  1. All I have left now is a final paper and a take home final, so at least I don't have to sit in class freaking out over whether I studied enough or not. ~skysprite
  2. WFFC Chicks Rock Boogie ~skysprite
  3. Yay TSO! I got to see them the last two years. Totally kick ass. And my tickets just came in the mail for their show this year today! ~skysprite
  4. I jump at a cessna DZ, and I found my door fears were reduced once I started spotting and had to open the door myself. While I still get massive butterflies, I've found it does get easier and a hell of a lot more fun.
  5. 0:0:0 No jumps this weekend - doctors orders. Unlikely to jump next weekend either, because I'll be in Colorado. ~skysprite
  6. 0:2:0 Got video of one of my jumps. You can now refer to me as Tiff the Turtle, cause that's what I looked like for a few seconds while I was stuck on my back spinning, while attempting to do a barrel roll. (Don't worry, I got flipped back over in time to geek the camera before waving off and pulling.) ~skysprite
  7. Yeah, my schedule this semester sucks. Tues/Thurs average 19 hour days for me. I come home, get 2-4 hours of sleep, and get up at 2:30 for a slightly shorter day. Should get a better work and school schedule next semester. ~skysprite
  8. Like you, I like to leave early in the morning for road trips. And right now I'm working at a job that has me getting up at 2:30 in the morning five days a week, but I prefer to sleep in and typically just "come alive" at night. Was always a night owl growing up. ~skysprite
  9. You and your family have been in my prayers and will continue to be in them. I hope you are able to find peace, but know that it is perfectly okay to miss your mom. I was given a beautiful card when my brother died and still have it to this day. I'd like to share its words with you... "The beauty of a life well-lived never dies...it continues to embrace and inspire us." I hope you can take comfort in your loving memories and let them continue to inspire you, and know that your "sky-family" is thinking about you. ~skysprite
  10. If you ever find one, let me know mkay? ~skysprite
  11. dude, you're not even in there. ~skysprite
  12. I think the Arrogant Worms said it best in the Happy Birthday Song... Happy Birthday and lots of love girl! ~skysprite
  13. Share your favs! I am a mother pheasant plucker. I pluck mother pheasants. I'm the most pleasant mother pheasant plucker to ever pluck a mother pheasant. We need to compile a list of these then someone needs to organize a drunken after hours tongue twister contest for drunk skydivers. ~skysprite
  14. C'mon people! Don't ruin the fun! Give Sunny some space and I'm sure she'll sprinkle a little lust dust on you too! *waits patiently like a good girl* ~skysprite
  15. Happy Birthday Sparky! I had the pleasure of meeting you in Elsinore once or twice before, but you probably don't remember. ~skysprite
  16. Just came from my Intro to Gender studies class. We didn't learn about this stuff! ~skysprite
  17. Will be sure to do that once I get one taken!
  18. 1:0:0 1 new tattoo. No jumping due to weather. ~skysprite
  19. My parents video'ed my session in the tunnel with Ron over Halloween. "Captain Smartass" was geeking the camera while he was explaining things to me before we even got in the tunnel! Seriously though the tunnel was the best thing I could have done at this point in my training, and Ron was awesome. I wasn't even in the tunnel for fifteen seconds before he had already corrected my body position that had been causing unintentional turns. As a student who had been unable to correct these turns since getting off of static line and onto freefall, this gave me such a good feeling. I was unable to jump this weekend so have only had one jump since getting back from the tunnel, but that jump was flawless in terms of the skills I had worked on in the tunnel. Further, Ron gave me a new way to look at learning these skills and training in skydiving in general. He said that if any Olympian althete were to train for the exact amount of time we are able train in the air before going to the Olympics, we'd see some pretty poor performances. I was getting discouraged because I was doing these bad unintentional turns for eight jumps, but when I look back at my logbook that was only three and a half minutes to practice - I'm not even warmed up yet! Spending fifteen minutes in the tunnel with someone right there correcting things was a tremendous help, and gave me the solid foundation I need to continue learning. I'm sure I would have gotten it eventually, but this way I'm confident because I know I can do it, and I know what was causing the problem and know how to fix it. Actually I'm feeling kind of funny...I think can feel a tunnel addiction coming on! I wonder what I can sell to make it to the camp in February... And in Feb I won't be able to feign student status, so I'm sure Ron will make me really work this time! (Ha! I was so friggin sore this last time!) Thanks Captain Smartass! ~skysprite
  20. 0:1:0 1 awesome jump! The time in the tunnel last weekend helped so much! It felt so good to have such control this jump! ~skysprite
  21. Yay! Congratulations Kelly! No more sending snotty emails to the wrong people, especially clients at the new job, mkay? ~skysprite
