  1. Great shots Ed!! BTW, saw you coming in for one of your landings on UPN 31 last night. They did a take on the American Boogie. Both Lorrie and said at about the same time, "Hey, that's Ed!" Have fun, Jeff
  2. Come to Lodi........ If you come, we will jump.... (like Field of Dreams) If I'm not broke from trying to purchase a home I will buy you a ticket.
  3. Well, I packed for Deuce once, but I have not had the opportunity (or alleged privilage ) to jump with him as of yet.
  4. You could get dz b to convert that piston 207 to a Soloy 207. That would be sweet!! Not only would you be jumping at the DZ of your choice but you guys would have a "mimi" turbine. It is your sport/hobby, you gotta do what feels right for you. But, I do think you made a wise choice. Though you may have parted on good terms, DZ A made it abundantly clear just how important you aren't to them. Jeff
  5. Derek, Sounds to me like you need to partner up with some responsible individuals (with $$) and start your own DZ. A "Perfect DZ" if you will. Yeah, it may never be truly perfect but with the right management it could be damn close. All it needs to be is AFFORDABLE, FUN and SAFE (I believe the last two can work together quite well contrary to what others might think) So, what do you think? Jeff
  6. Actually there are drivers that do pay attention to the rear view mirror to avoid a collision from behind. If I have to make a sudden stop that is exactly what I do. Just because it means that it would be the other guys fault for rearending someone does not mean the person in front shouldn't make an attempt to avoid a collision if at all possible. This comparison you have made is invalid. A skydiver on the ground can easily move (or at least make the attempt to) out of the way of in coming traffic providing they are looking out for canopies landing. It is really quite simple, if you are in the LZ your head needs to be on a swivel, you do not have the right to ignore incoming canopies. We should not be trying to pass off responsibilty to "the other guy". Jeff
  7. My wife will make sure of that. - Yeah, they have a nasty tendancy of doing that don't they?
  8. Hmm, you will see hooking there every weekend. I don't think it is a very official policy. At least it doesn't seem to be.
  9. You better. You got some organzing to do don't ya, Mr. Paylowski Hey, don't forget; If ya need a place to stay (due to possible beer and/or wine consumption), you are welcome in our home....Well, as long as you behave. Jeff
  10. I voted "Other" My DZ is only 8 miles away and I am lazy. Kind of my home DZ by default. OTH, I have made some great friends and we have some fast planes too. Jeffrey
  11. Many of us can learn from this I think or at least use it as a simple reminder. I have allowed myself to get distracted once I was on the ground while canopies are still in the air. Sometimes I think I have Skydiving ADD, if there is such a thing. Anyhow, I am sorry for the incident but it is a good reminder, at least for me, to pay attention, always. Jeff
  12. There was text on that flyer? - You are so predictable Ed.
  13. Hey JP, Sorry to hear about your friend, I am sorry that he did not listen to you. I certainly hope the healing goes well for him. For you JP and some of you other posters here, just remember that some of us "jump wonders", "wannabes", "naturals" or whatever we may be called DO listen. It just may take a little extra convincing thats all. I am a perfect example, having jumped a few demos at 100 jumps loaded at 1.4 including a couple of elipticals I ended up staying with what I have. Believe it or not, it was mostly due to people right here on DZ.com (that I have yet to even meet) that convinced me to stay on my Tri for a little while longer. So for that, I thank you; JP, Bonnie, Ed, Ian, amongst others. Just wanted to try a throw a little positive vibe out there with regards to us newbies and wing loadings. Jeffrey
  14. Hey Teresa, We need to blow that picture up a bit. Can't quite read it. Jeffrey
  15. Excellent points skybytch and freaky, But, in this particular case, my point was even though you may have your spot picked out and know what to do don't forget to actually EXECUTE your agenda while you are having your fun. Nothing like making a plan for yourself then not following it. Jeffrey
  16. I don't usually mind taking a cross wind and that is what I planned on doing since I was out a bit. But the wind shifted on me and it became more of a down wind. That would be just about exactly what I was trying to do. I really wanted that grass. But, I came up 75 feet short and paid a little price for my lack of good judgment.
  17. Hmm, it won't upload. Says the file is bigger than 60.0 KB. Don't know how to fix that. Sorry
  18. Sure and a 182 is like a F-18 with a high wing and a propeller. The 99 is more like a King Air with a stretched fuselage, and a biger door. It's not a bad A?C, but I'd take an otter or a Carvan over it. Reasoning? Jump pilots (especially at smaller DZ's) are often low timers building time. When put into a troublesome situation like too much meat out side and a bunch o' people crowding the tail, the less experienced pilot will be less likely to get into trouble with a fat slow speed high lift airfoil like the Caravan or Otter. The King Air, 99, and other lighter piston twins, need a high skill level to get good results from When a stall does happen (and the do from time to time) the King Air and 99 are pretty wild and unpredictible, much like stalling a high performance canopy. The Otter and Caravan have much more docile results. Yeah, but they are fun with the right pilot. Especially high speed stalls.
  19. I didn't have ice cream But ice cream is GOOOOOOOOOD!!
