  1. Quite true, after I drank that darn thing I had no appetite for 3 hours. And just prior I was ready to go eat some dinner. I was so awake I had to get in my TURBO BUICK (yeah, I like fast cars) and go for a very long drive last night. About an hour and half later...I came home and starred at the ceiling the rest of the night.
  2. You could just grind the Redline pills into a fine powder....
  3. So it is not just me!!! I did read the warning label, I took it as an invitation. Downed the whole can in 3 minutes on an empty stomach, well save for the 4 BEERS I already had!! Not the best tasting drink though, kind of synthetic fruity cherry like. Step aside Red Bull, you got nothin' on this stuff!!!
  4. Anyone ever try this stuff? Now perhaps I am a light weight , but this stuff sent me through the friggin' roof. I drink Red Bull from time to time with really not much effect but this Redline, WOW.
  5. So I have laid off jumping for 10 months, some of you know this. But I have temporarily moved to our sister winery which is located under the route of the Lodi plane. I can hear it, it is calling...... Should I rent some gear and let it rip during my lunch break? Wonder what it would be like after 10 months.....? J
  6. Thanks for the advice people. And thanks for the link to your thread Jaye. I think for now I will use a personal instructor for the private and instrument tickets. Then after building some time I may use the ATP school in Sac for the commercial and multi commercial. Any recomendations for instructors in the Lodi/Stockton/Sacramento area?
  7. I love to fly but up until now I have really not done much about it, as far as training that is. Though I have flown with friends in a variety of aircraft (including rountrip rides in the jump plane for fun) I am finally taking my first actual flight lesson this Saturday. Being a DZ pilot, whether part time of full time, is appealing to me and has been since even before I began skydiving almost two years ago. There are other carreers in aviation that appeal to me as well but flying for the DZ is most interesting to me for now. One thing I have been attempting to do is compare the cost and advantages of joining a flight club vs. using a private instructor vs. forking over the bucks for a 'package course' at one of the avaition schools that are somewhat nearby. Anyhow, in my attempt to get my ratings/certificates and build time I am hoping to avoid some pitfalls and any advice from experienced pilots would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
  8. No longer active. Last jump: October of '04 off the Perrine Bridge Reason for quitting: Bought a F'ING house and now I am broke. I both love and hate my house....
  9. GREAT shots as per the usual Ed! It was a pleasure watching you guys and meeting Julien as well. Keep having fun! Jeff
  10. A most excellent story Jaap!! Keep 'em coming, especially for those of us that are grounded. Hmm, I am a bit worried. Should our paths cross again, perhaps I will leave my wife at home this time. Jeffrey And just in case ya don't remember me; Your fellow FJC student from last October. Ah crap, just remembered I still owe Tom some wine...My bad, guess I will have to work on that.
  11. Congrats to Shawn!!! Hey Kris, Ed hope all is well!! Damn, I miss you guys. Jeff
  12. You are correct. Tom 'pushed' no product upon us last weekend. However, he did impart a considerable amount of knowledge. Jeff
  13. Never mind. I found it...... Yeah dude, what the hell? I was looking forward to finally meeting you in person. Oh well, maybe next time. Jeff
  14. A BIG thanks back to you Tom for putting on a great free FJC (even with the pendulator problems ). I think that overall the course was quite good and very informative. Something that surprised me was just how much I learned about canopies and their lines. My confidence in working with brake lines, four line checks, step throughs and packing have greatly improved. Their were four of us in the course and that seemed to work out very well. We all were able to learn from one another besides learning from Tom. For me, that was very helpful. I do think that Tom learned from us as well, and though I thought his course was great, I bet it will get even better in the future. Now, for the fun stuff ; I HAD A FRIGGIN' BLAST!!!! I got in 2 PCA's on Saturday and 3 hand helds on Sunday. There were lots of people jumping and I didn't meet one person I didn't like. The BASE community seems to be full a very cool people. Everyone there was showing as much excitement for our jumps as their own. Very cool stuff! Tom, I had a great time and thanks again. It was quite educational and you have some great stories too. 3,2,1, cya...1 one thousand, 2 one thousand, 3......
  15. Thank you all. We are definetly looking forward to our first trip to Idaho. Jeff
  16. We will be leaving Thursday afternoon (~4:30 pm) and coming back Sunday night. Jeff
  17. That ought to really get his wife going. I can only hope. BWAHAHAHAHA!!
  18. Hello all, I will be travelling to Twin Falls for the weekend of Oct. 1 through the 3rd
  19. Ding....182s are 4 seaters. Unless the pilot watchs your dive, the point count would be based on an honor system of the jumpers involved. I have seen 6 peeps including the pilot in a 182 once. Not saying when or where though.
  20. Sit on his desk and rip a HUGE fart. Damn, I love bathroom humor.
