    Was in the ARNG for 1 1/2 years...currently still in and also ROTC...hoping to branch quartermaster and get with a rigging platoon. Just not sure how to get it done!

    When the sun is out and it's completely GORGEOUS, but you know nobody will be at the DZ...don't you just want to die? Or move somewhere where people would be jumping.

    Of course I give a look silly. Our DZ is super small with not much going on. And the whole ride to altitude I know where we are. I've lived in Creswell my WHOLE life and am pretty good at knowing if I'm over Rays food place, the DZ is due North. And if I'm over my house the DZ is NW about 1 1/2 miles. Would I do this anywhere else? No, of course not. Has there ever been an issue or "close calls" no. I guess I was more just implying I've never given "5 left" or "5 right". Maybe once for fun, but the pilot just laughed at me.

    I'm at a smaller cessna DZ. But still, our pilot is kick ass and in over 1,000 jumps I seriously don't think I've ever spotted. When pilot says door can be open, I just get the hell out. Have had 3 reserve rides too and all gear has landed pretty much in a great spot. Just got to watch for the owner when he fly's...he'll give you door over houses cuz he's a crazy mutha fucker.

    :7:What is beer? Had to attend an activation ceremony for my unit on Saturday (good luck in the sand 41st Brigade), but packed fast on Sunday to make every load.

    If your gonna make a skydiving resume, what sort of stuff do you put on it? Strictly skydiving related info, or schooling and other non-skydiving jobs as well? Does somebody maybe have a good one they want to post, so I can get an idea? Thanks!

    That's a good idea. Most the ones I've seen look like your head would snap off before the ringsite did.

    I've heard alot of people talk about lines getting stuck on ringsites. So that would be one issue. If your not gonna use a ringsite then I don't have an argument for that. On the other hand...I ordered an FF2 with the cutaway and don't intend to use a ringsite. I'll just feel safer. I'm not a true camera flyer or anything. So I could be completely wrong.

    When you say this do you mean it's hard to get into or what? I mean...I'm really wanting to make this trip more of a skydiving fantasy trip with studying here and there...not really wanting to get all wrapped in a book. Do the DZ's in Canb have fun jumpers as well? Or is it strictly a tandem factory?

    I was hoping for Australia...when I started looking. How close is Canberra to Skydive Picton. They have Australia National University which is in our program. If that's close to Skydive Picton and Australia National Univ I'd definately go there!!

    OK...so I'm looking into doing the study abroad program thru my school, mainly to go somewhere else and skydive alot! I'm kinda interested in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The choices from my school for Aust are Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne. For NZ, Dunedin and for SA, Cape Town or Durban. If anyone knows if any of these places are homes to medium to large DZ's could you let me know! Thanks. Also, if you live in one of those places can I live with you?

    I've maybe 2 jumps on a stiletto, one on accident and one I didn't land. So...I know nothing really about them. I've just read a handful of times that they're not so great.
