Either you or I misunderstand the basic function of birth control pills. My understanding is that, except when used in high doses subsequent to unprotected sex, they work by preventing conception, i.e. an egg is not shipped to the uterus, therefore conception cannot occur. The keys words are "between conception and natural birth" & "whether before or after implantation" My understanding is that conception is the process of a sperm fusing with an ovum, not when the fertilized egg attaches to the uterus. Huh? The pill doesn't prevent a fertilized egg from getting to the uterus, it prevents it from becoming fertilized in the first place.

Absolutely nothing. People will find anything to be "offended" and bitch about. It's sad. Get a babysitter and go to the movies! I haven't been to the movies since December, 2003. I've got two kids and, frankly, I don't WANT to leave them behind. Secondly, I worked for years at a movie theater where if I wanted to see a movie, I'd wait till the theater closed, go thread the film, and watch it. Sometimes, a bunch of us would do it. The thought of dropping that kind of scratch on a flick just doesn't appeal to me. You know I love my son more than anything. Anything. BUT! It's nice to get out with just my husband and go to the movies. The cost pisses me off, though, which is why we are very selective on which ones we really want to see in theatre and which ones we can wait for on Blu-Ray. We have a nice set up at home, though, so it's really not that bad.

You were comparing apples to oranges. An actual sexual act being performed on a child, vs. a photo or painting of a nude child. It's on a totally different level entirely. Even if the painting was "suggstive".

No one is offended by fat people being offended, nor is anyone bashing fat people. We're saying it's stupid to be upset over this movie and if you don't want to be fat anymore, get your ass to the gym. People bitch about anything these days and this is just silly, at best.

Please don't misunderstand. I am not agreeing with using children as nude pieces of "art". I think that's a bit... odd. I was more or less referring to the *gasping* response to any form of nudity (like a baby butt).
