  1. Everyone who posted here about this whole deal is a drama queen and you almost deserve to be fooled. You all love gossiping and to be opinionating. If you don’t know what the truth is about something just shut up and go on with your own life, especially when you have no business or can’t do anything about it. Get a life, Fools ----------------------------------------------------------- Hey if you don't like the "opinionating" and discussion on here, you know where the on/off switch is bro. Use it. J.P.
  2. Everyone, please keep in mind that the real victims of that situation were the family, who genuinely believed their son was dead. They've got to be hurting right now, and a little consideration for that would be appreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------- Just venting a bit here. . . . Okay considered. I feel bad for the family but certainly not for the piece of shit that spawned this whole thing (Yeah I know we're all thinking that). I know I'm not only one to think this but I'll post it anyway; the only positive I can see from this whole situation is that it showed how much the BASE community cares about their fellow jumper. It certainly makes me feel good to know that even though most you don't know me at all, you would still go to such great efforts to lend a helping hand should something bad happen to me. But to Scott and/or his buddies who started this. . . . my suggestion is to move far away, change your name, whatever. Personally I hope the BASE community just shuns you completely and that I never have to hear your name again. But I heard a story last night about a very high profile BASE jumper (think MTV) known for dayblazing objects who got what was coming to him. So good luck and I wouldn't want to be you right now. J.P.
  3. Damn! What the hell was I doing in Seattle? Cheers, J.P.
  4. Its a sad story. I fear it's only going to get worse. I feel for the family, This is NOT how its supposed to go. ---------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, not to mention this kind of bullshit draws even more negativity to the sport. I could only imagine the DA holding a press conference denouncing BASE as a sinister club of renegades. This whole thing is really creeping me out. I'm really sorry for the family and for the rest of the BASE community for having to be associated with such a disgusting act.
  5. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Reply To -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So who here has actually met link? or talked to him about jumpers? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Tom Aiello ----------------------------------------------------------- Me too, and the guy is very two faced. He tries to act like he's one of the climbers and equally that he is in full support access issues (ever been in camp 4 for one of his free coffee and danish lectures?), but make no mistake HE WILL cite you in an instant for something minor. I must admit, I have never spoken to him about BASE; I would like to hear his personal views sometime.
  6. please! Of course then again I guess it depends on the health of Deshaun Foster holmes. They have a shot, but I just don't think Delhomme is good enough to pull it off. The Seattle secondary will make him screw up; no doubt.

    Rage

Excellent! Thanks for the info guys. I figured he was some kind of hardened verteran; nevertheless that clip is always entertaining to watch for those of us who understand the difference between BASE and skydiving gear. My non-jumper buddies always watch that scene and can never quite grasp why that jump is any different from the others!! . . . .yeah I'll be there in 06'. Thanks again. Cheers, J.P.

Cheers, J.P.

    Rage

Yeah dude! When I saw that I had to do a double take. Just thought it was kinda funny; the guy in the video is like my Dad's age (not that I'm tryin' to knock any of you old fuckers out there ) and he's throwin down some old school gear. I'm gonna have to make it out there one these years and see some of this for myself. Cheers, J.P.

    Rage

Just curious. . . . In the BASE flick "Rage" there is a scene from Bridge Day that shows an older guy. . . .maybe mid 60's, that jumps from the bridge using some old school, ripcord, spring loaded pc, skydiving gear. His canopy is mostly blue, with 1 or 2 gray cells. In fact, from the video it appears that he was even using a sail slider. Does anyone know who this guy is? Does he still jump? Do you ever see people at BD still use skydiving gear? Cheers, J.P.
  11. We can jawbone all we want about vagina-mony, and buying the Mrs. or SO dinner, flowers, etc. as "paying for sex." And no doubt that is paying for sex. . . . But as far as paying a professional, I've never done it, never would, but at the same time don't have any problems with others doing it. On a side note: A guy who works for me did this recently in Vegas; he explained it was $500, the girl according to him was a knock-out and very professional (ie. she was very friendly and nice as opposed to "give me your $500 bucks and get it over with") and he said it was worth every penny. I asked him how old she was and he said 26. I suppose if he had said 18 or 19 it would have bothered me more as I have sister's around this age. Cheers, J.P.
  12. I haven't thought about The Grad since my sister went to college there. Completely forgot about that place.
  13. Scoop scooop scoop. Don't be shy of the girls just reaching their prime, but on the other hand, get all the 20 year olds you can get my Son. Get all you can get. I repeat. Get all the 20 year old pussy you can get. I'll say it again.... ------------------------------------------------------------ Even though highly sexist, I must agree. Most guys have no idea that the women they date (and have sex with) from their teenage years into their twenties, may be the hottest piece of ass they will get in their entire lives. Funny how a lot of young women aren't too picky....guess that comes with maturity. ----------------------------------------------------------- I will agree with the notion that there is beauty in youth, however recently I have banged 2 chicks that are in the mid to late 30's range and the sex was sensational. But as far as pure looks go, yeah definately gotta go with the ladies in their early and mid 20's. Equally I will say that for what ever reason over the past year or so I tend to hook up with girls that are very early 20's or mid to late 30's. But there is a trade off with either; I recently broke up with a 22 year old girlfriend I had over the summer. The maturity level wasn't there, and I gotta admit that she was lacking a little in the sex dept. But she was very skinny and cute. . . . . Bottomline: If I need to knock out some no strings attached, great sex. . . . .I'm tapping into (no pun ) my 30 & up list. Cheers, J.P.
  14. hmm. . .good thread. I'll play along: 29/21/40 Cheers, J.P.
  15. I hope I'm not out of place here. . . . I never got the chance to meet Tom. But I must admit that after reading all the posts, I wish I had. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but normally when I see a thread about someone dying, I usually glance through it without responding. But after reading all the touching posts from Tom's friends, I have been very mindful about checking back every few hours to read the latest post to this thread. I think all of the wonderful comments and stories are a real testament to Tom's character. It's been nice to read and learn about his life, and his contributions to other people's lives. If life could be summarized as a game, seems Tom was certainly a winner many times over. I'm really sorry for everyone's loss. Many condolences to the family. J.P.
  16. I would say. . . . being impaled drawn and quartered ooh. . .sharks Aids Ebola
  17. Also, try contacting your local FBI field office. Chances are this guy is doing it to more people than your friend. They may be able to shed some light where to go from there. Good luck to your friend!
  18. You may never be able to convince your family of anything, but the purpose of having children is not to live their lives for them. Sometimes parents forget that. Perhaps you should remind them. ----------------------------------------------------------- Nothing short of brilliant here RL. I think just about everyone can relate to this.
  19. Thanks for the post. I can relate, as this is very much how my family is. . . .at times. I used to spend my summers doing walls in "the valley" and it just drove everyone in my family nuts, with the exception of my sister. She is the one person that has always trusted in my abilities to do things in as safe and conservative manner that the situation warrants. She was watching INHD the other night and saw some Red Bull related BASE jumping show, and she called me just say how fascinated she was with BASE, however she did say she felt it was maybe too risky. Now of course I had to explain to her that it would be quite awhile before I am ready for Moab, but that like alot sports there is a progression of skill that is usually aided with the help of those with more experience. This seemed to quell her nerves a little. I will say that reading everyone's posts and seeing how everyone else handles this subject is more than helpful. Keep em comin'. Cheers and Happy New Year! J.P.
  20. Only after my 5th glass of scotch! Scotch, scotch, scotch!
  21. I'm actually in San Fran right now, and I gotta say this town in ridiculous! So many cool objects. I am no expert, but it's pretty cool when you recognize a few objects from the BASE videos you've seen over the years! Can't wait to comeback when I am more experienced. Cheers, J.P.
  22. "Nice"??? If a hooker showed up at your DZ and offered to provide sexual favors in exchange for skydiving lessons, wouldn't you be just a little put out? Because that's what's being offered. ------------------------------------------------------------ Hey!. . . . . . . .That's alright! Quit being a hater and get over it. Everyone has a right to choose their path in life bro. What's next? A sermon?
  23. I just have to bump this. I moved away from OC in 1997 ----------------------------------------------------------- Smartest thing you ever did. OC sucks! I'm in San Fran right now for New Years and I've got to say life is better up here!! Oops! Did I just hijack? Cheers, J.P.
