  1. I'd tend to agree with you more if (a) he was a firefighter instead of an EMT or (b) the explosive hadn't been described as a pipe bomb. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  2. If who was there first doesn't matter, then what right do the Palestinians have to take it from the Israelis? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  3. Aside from the fact that she says she did it, I suppose it's possible, but I don't know how deep the stab wounds to tr back were. It is physiologically possible to stab yourself on the back, or wedge a knife in place and back into it. It is possible to slit your own throat and shoot yourself in the head before you die. While those actions are theoretically possible, not so much in this case. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  5. What about groups who think their taxes are theft because people with more than them aren't taxed more? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  6. It's the hero syndrome/sickness. Just like firefighters who end up arsonists for the fun and excitement of knocking it down and being the hero. It could be that this guy needed an incident so he could save the day. Or it could be that he had othing to do with it and he making a pipe bomb for shots and giggles. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  7. Why, do groups with "Occupy" in their name speak out vociferously against having to pay tax, consider that taxes are theft, etc? If I were in the IRS the groups I'd target would be the ones that clearly object to paying taxes. Like the Tea Party, or groups with Patriot in their name, for example. Or the guy who said this: "How much more money do we want to steal from the American people to fund more government?" That was John Boehner. So you'd target groups with political positions that you don't like, that have done nothing against the law. Nice. Even the IRS and the president know that is not ok. Do you realize how far beyond left wing you sound? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  8. You have to remember, if its in the weekly standard or on foxnews, it must be lies. If its on ABC, NBC, or CNN then it's better than gospel. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  9. Not quite. The definition of rape varies state to state, but the important factors are sexual intercourse without consent. Nonconsensual sex is rape. Force is not an element of rape. Using force just make its that much worse. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  10. Depends on the state's laws. Some states have dozens of laws delineating various rapes (and more for sexual assaults). Others have very few. All I can think of include using a weapon as an aggravating factor or element of a more severe crime. Not all separate use of force from threat of force. Some states like to charge kidnapping with rape anytime the peep moves the victim as little as five feet against their will. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  11. An interesting article, but according to the author, anything predating modern cartridges and repeating firearms doesn't count as a "gun". I disagree in the strongest terms. He wouldn't classify several guns I've fired as guns. He's trying to shoehorn in a distinction that doesn't exist. While zip guns and disguised guns and early smoothbores are not the same as modern commercial guns, it's doesn't make them un-guns. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  12. The way it's being discussed here, I don't see any line whatsoever. Date rape using force IS forcible rape. Prior association is irrelevant. Also, date rape by drugging (or taking advantage of otherwise powerless or unable to consent) is no less evil than forcible rape. If a person says no at any point, even after penetration, both parties must stop. Any failure to stop is rape. Using force to overcome resistance only makes the unforgivable even worse. I don't think it even slightly mitigates if the victim incapacitates him or herself. Anything other than mutual participation is wrong. Conversely, any POS who claims rape or sexual assault when none occurred is beyond reprehensible. They victimize all true victims as well as the accused, and deserve the same thing those guilty deserve. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  15. google search: Bryce Reed No official has stated on the record that this is related to the fertilizer plant disaster, but "Bryce Reed, a West, Texas, paramedic who responded to the town’s devastating fertilizer plant explosion last month, was arrested Friday on charges of possession of a destructive device." The arrest comes just days after they officially opened the criminal investigation. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  17. http://reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page Not all printers cost $8K. However I'm not sure I want a bargain basement printer making a handgun that will be in my hand. Also, if you pay $1K for that amount of product, you need to look for a better deal. And you're correct. This is a single shot derringer it's huge. It's not single use, but it has exceptionally short lifespan. Also, in addition to being able to get a pistol or revolver much cheaper, one can also make or buy a disguised zip gun. Possibly one that would pass through a security check point. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  18. It was free. See post #18 this thread. They're not offering it for download at the moment due to State Dept threatening them with ITAR investigation. The file is, however still freely available from your friendly neighborhood less-than-scrupulous source. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  19. The State Department...is probably reacting to arms treaties. Think about it. Horse shit. They're reacting to democrat politicians losing their minds. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  20. Thanks. I'm more familiar with various states' laws. Didn't know about that one. Until now I'd only known about getting rights back after various non violent felonies. I had no idea the US didn't count them all for the federal felon-firearms laws. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  21. Lovely. State wants to bankrupt him and smear his name. These are the goobers who were going to go after the History channel for one of their specials on the history of guns. You know, the ones who slandered the trio behind RSA and other cryptographers. The ones who would throw you in jail for sending a file to a computer in France, even if you just downloaded it from there. When will they figure out that a computer file is not like a missile? Or that everyone who cares to already knows how to make shitty (both unsafe and ineffective) suppressors and other improvised weapons? Have they never heard of the anarchists' cookbook, or the other (more reliable) similar books out there? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  22. What worries me is when they (downloaders, not the company) start trying to use different calibers without due diligence and caution. I have no problem with the "official" liberator, but some jackass will screw around with it and start himself leaking or leaving pieces behind. (not too different from metal firearms) witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  23. Please. His problem was access to a printer. Seeing as I have access to one, a friend with one as his place, and am about to start a DIY at home, I don't have that issue. Access for everyone will only get easier as time goes forward. Beyond that there is no real obstacle. Feeding it raw material is cheap. The only other problem was NY laws. Since most of us don't live in Bloomberg's NY, again it's a nonissue. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  24. Why do you think I keep coming back? Old saying about training with people better than you, discussing with people with differing points of view, and such. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  25. Psst! I'll let you in on a secret, everyone does. Don't tell anyone here. They all think they are totally objective thinkers without any bias or prejudice. It's a fucking joke. Actually I think most here fall in the grey areas between those two extremes. I know I have changed my mind based on things discussed and presented here. There are some die hards though... Actually Ron is right. Lots of studies show that folks look for stories about topic they care about and sources that share their viewpoint. It take conscious effort to read about uninteresting topics or conflicting points of view. Most just don't make the effort. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
