  1. Hey Skymama! I was wondering when you were going to chime in! Yeah I know all about Florida traffic being born and rasied there. I have Family in Sebring, Wildwood, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Delray, Eustice, Tallahassee, Leesburg. I could go on, wait I did. . I know I-4 is a bear. We have decided on Deland. My Aunt lives in Eustice whom i favor more than the rest, and she is about 25 minutes away from you guys. I will be there Wednesday the 16th for the day and then return with her that Saturday. So I am planning two days of jumping and am hoping for a minimum of 5 jumps each day. More if Possible. I may also stay monday and come back out but we will be playing that by ear due to my car rental. My Aunt is thinking about doing a tandem while we are there on Saturday. She jumped many moons ago but that was from 79-85. She has not jumped since and is very excited about me doing it so she wants to come with me that Saturday. I may or may not be current. I have my A and 33 jumps, but my last jump was Dec 30. I hope to see the weather clear up here so I can either go to my home DZ at AerOhio or to my vactaion home DZ at SGC to get a few more jumps before then. Unfortunately neither has had any jumping since Dec 30 and who knows if there will be any before March 16th. Point being, if I am uncurrent, what is Deland's policy? How much will a recurrency jump cost? Budgets being what they are and all, I need to plan my funds appropriately. Looking forward to meeting you though.
  2. That goes ditto for me. Hope you guys pull it off!
  3. Freedom of speech is overrated anyway. I think anyone who does not think my way and expresses it verbally should be executed publicly. ps - see that thing with the tongue?
  4. There are entirely toomany out there to list that are worth trying. My step father collects hot sauces. He always buys two of everything, one for the collection and one to try in his cooking. I have had far to many to list. There are literally over a thousand bottles on his wall and I have probably tried half of them and found very few that were not worth using. here's a small list that you can start with and these are my personal favorites: These are litsted in order of hotness based on the Scoville Scale of Hotness 1. 1 Million Scoville Pepper Extract 2. Ass In The Tub Special Reserve - Armageddon 3. Ass Reaper With Skull and Cape 4. Colon Blow Hot Sauce 5. Dumb Ass Hot Sauce 6. African Rhino Peri-Peri Hot Sauce 7. Assplosion Hot Sauce 8. El Yucateco Chipotle Hot Sauce 9. Ass In Antarctica Hot Sauce 10. "F" Milk! Got Hot Sauce?
  5. What is wrong with flip-flops? If they are good enough for Jimmy Buffet they are good enough for me.
  6. Hey you wnna talk about obsessed? I, a born and raised Florida boy, decided I want snow for Christmas. Guess what I got snow for Christmas all right! And Valentines Day and Easter and with the way things go up here in OHIO, probably snow on Memorial day and have light flurries on the 4th of July! But I am going home for 7 days in March, so at least I can get my 85 degree/ 99% humidity infusion. You know on a side note, I always bitched about all the people moving to lforida and cluttering my roads and driving like idiots and I really had a serious dislike for non-native Floridians. Now I know why you guys move there. Ohio sucks, Ohio sucks!
  7. As much as SoBe sounds fun, I am not up to spending 7 hours in a vehicle on my vacation. I do not think my Wife and Kids will be up to it either. So unfortunately SoBe is gonna have to wait until I come to Florida just to jump at a bunch of DZ's. (Planning that trip for Winter 2005) Im thinking 7 days 5 DZ's, 60 jumps, middle of January. Anyway, I have to limit it to the three that I posted. Space Center is not far but I have been told that the landing area does not have many outs and with my experience level and the possibility of not being current by say 14 days I am going to have to save it for the winter 2005 trip too.
  8. I see by their website they have a wind tunnel. Is it any good?
  9. Here's some straight from our own DZ.com homepage! DeLand Canopy "Bust-a-Cunt" Bangs Launch "Afterburner" Flight-1 Canopy "Airing the Orchid" School or Aerodyne sex fights the farting Icon harness-container system
  10. I stand corrected, or is that sit? No I'll stand
  11. Please read before voting I am going to be going to Orlando Florida the second week of March with my wife and kids for our first real vacation in five years. I am Spending five days and 6 nights there and two days are taken up by a wind tunnel trip (my kids want to try the tunnel so it is a good excuse for me to go too) and a trip to Islands of Adventure. One day (Sunday) will be spent relaxing by the pool drinking margaritas. That leaves two days to jump. I plan on 5 jumps or better each day. Where you guys suggest? Please remember I have only got 33 jumps and will probably only get one or two more by then if the weather clears for a day here in OHIO. Also, there is a possibility that I may not get any jumps before I go, in which case I will be uncurrent. Please take this into consideration when you vote. All of these are less than an hour and 15 minutes from the resort we will be at.
  12. Hmm, wonder if she means what I think she means. Oh wait this is a drinking thread.

  14. All I can say is the responses from you guys made reading this thread worth the damage to my psyche.
  15. For the record I learned my lesson. Since then I have had two sinus infections on trips to the DZ with my buddy and I just watched him jump all day and hung out with my chica Kelley who also had a blocked head. It is not worth the risks. Funny, I just realized the idiocy of that statement, we don't want to risk our hearing by jumping with a cold but we will risk our lives by jumpingperiod? Oh well, no justifying the need for sky.
  16. Actually the Supreme Court is not Constitutionally appointed as the intepereter of the Constitution. That was something that the Court Established by the sheer genious of John Marshall in the Mabury v. Madison case.
  17. You are right but with 50 caliber high rate of fire weapons, M4's, Night vision, M16's and a plethora of other weapons we have been denied access to we would stand a better chance. None of us are saying that we are anywhere near this in the even unforeseeable future, but start allowing any rights to be taken away and you might as well give them all up. Mankind has proven that throughout history.
  18. Article II was written with one intent. Our forefathers looked at history and they looked at what they had just gone through and they recognized that the natural progression of things was that goverments and people in power eventually take away the liberties granted to Man by God. Article II is not about having guns for pleasure, it is about a responsibility of men to be prepared to overthrow a government that has taken advantage of the governed. They recognized that if the citizens had the ability to form militias they would be able to fight against tyranny in any form. "The rights of groups of citizens were protected by the allowance of militias outside of the armed forces that were under the control of the federal government, ensuring through such that any local tyrant could be overthrown despite corruption within the courts or the federal government. And should all else fail, the rights of the citizens could be protected by the citizens, for the citizens had every right and the duty to arm themselves. " for a better understanding of what I am saying go herehttp://www.wilderness-cry.com/rmarlett/cite/reasons-2nd.html The whole point is that our forefathers never intended for us to be weaker than the military that was controlled by goverments. Now they certainly never saw tanks and nuclear bombs and land mines in their future, and I do believe that it would be scary if we could all have tanks, etc. But if we were to maintain the spirit of the second amendment then the current restrictions on firearms is clearly against it. It is a hard position for us to be in. The current state of weaponry is such that we obviously could never outgun the Federal goverment shoudl the need ever arise. But the more restrictions that are placed on us the less able to protect ourselves from a goverment taking our liberties away we become. Where to draw the line? Who knows exactly where, but I think we have allowed it to be drawn too far into our rights. And to not recognize this, I believe is a dangerous place to be. Benjamin Franklin said, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. " If you look at how much work went into creating the Constitution and you look at the fact that some states would not sign the Constitution without a promise of the Bill of Rights and then look at the order they wrote them in, it is clear that Article ii was very essential to our founding fathers. And therefore, Benjamin Franklin's quote most definitely applies here. Do I have a problem with permits or background checks? Absolutely not. Do I have a problem with requiring firearm safety course for concealed carry permits? Not at all. But I have a problem when the liberties granted to law abiding citizens by the Constitution are taken away. And I think current gun laws are clear violations of the Intent and Spirit of our founding fathers.
  19. I have chronic sinusitis and the first two weeks I jumped I had a bad infection. When I went up to altitude I felt my ears expand and it took two weeks for them to go down. Felt like the congestion in my head went right into my ears. I have not yet had the problem you describe. Of course I do not have a deviated septum that I am aware of either. Thanks for the heads up.
  20. Jeanne, If your fall rate is anything like mine maybe we might jump together if we ever meet Edited to add yeah maybe after I h get my D
  21. Hmm, I drink one or two drinks a month if that and I do not allow myself to even get a buzz. Usually it is with a meal. Unless it is sunset and Margaritas then I don't need a meal but I still limit to one or two. Since I am never wasted can I still be part of the group? Or is this only for people who NEVER partake in any sort of drink, not even wine at a nice restaraunt?
  22. My thoughts about this: http://www.moveon.org/cbs/ad/? What is with all the weird punctuation and how to you pronounce http? Hard to say, since I do not understand the languge. Can you please translate
  23. I think what some of us are having a problem with is that some people are so elitist that they would ectually treat someone as unwelcome just because they are only able to make a few jumps a year (insert your definition of a few here). And most of us seem to think that as long as a person plays by the currency and safety rules, they should be welcomed into the sport with at least a little kindness. At least they are jumping and not looking at us wondering why on earth we are not touching the earth.. I have no problem with expecting anyone who has been away from jumping for exteneded periods of time having to follow recurrency rules, and as long as they are willing to do so, then I think we should welcome them to the DZ at least. We should ecnourage them in the few jumps they do each year. Maybe by doing so we might actually inspire them to come out more. Who knows? I am just speculating here anyway.
