Well, ya have to spell things out for some people. BTW, what "IS" Hitler doing right now? you hadnt heard? he was cloned and is hanging out in peru. grammar nazi :P -- Rob

You shouldn't talk about rhaig like that I totally had ears like that in elementary school. gave me a complex. -- Rob

"Ignorance" is a term that people believe is insulting and inflammatory, but it's true meaning is simply "lacking knowledge" You slapped me down for using that word, and it's specifically called out in this board's policies (incorrectly I believe) based on it's popular use meaning "stupid". That doesn't mean that this word means "stupid". Nor should fascist or socialist be insulting and inflammatory words. stipulated if you read my post did you really just learn about Hitler in the movies? You're an intelligent man, I'm surprised. I learned about Hitler from my high school library. ***But it's also worrisome that so many people believe such crap; it bodes poorly for our future as a democracy. At best one might think that many of the responders are lying, and just wanted to make their hatred for Obama clear to the pollster. It worries me that Obama is being followed so blindly by some that they'll refute any perceived insults without acknowledging any shortcomings. -- Rob

What "is" Hitler doing? I find it funny that I get to call you a grammar nazi in reference to a sentence containing "Hitler". *** When people refer to Hitler, it's more of a metaphor-example that describes Naziism, Fascism and totalitarianism. What Hitler did in that context was: If you're going to qualify it, that's different. This was not a qualified poll question. Hitler increased volunteerism and community programs to help people in a bad economy. He grew a group of youth that helped communities in various ways. He was a young charismatic leader who brought the country together to pull it out of an economic pit of despair. Then he split the country as he got greedy and spiteful. Did all the evil things you mentioned, and then more. I did not say Hitler was not evil. I did not say Obama was evil. I simply stated that Obama is doing (has programs similar to) some things that are similar to what Hitler did some 70 years ago. And no, I have no references. This is all based off of library research I did in high school almost 30 years ago. -- Rob

are you asserting that ALL of those are not correct? I'd say 2 of 4. We've already discussed many times some of the socalist parts of his agenda. Last time I brought up the things he had in common with Hitler I was basically told "yeah, so what. STFU" He is doing many of the things Hitler is. And anyone who voted for him should not dispute that (with some qualifications). You're better educated than to just think all Hitler did was the bad things. -- Rob

So, if I need to get my oil changed and I can choose between a service center owned by a democrat or a service center owned by a republican, who should I pick? buy the oil and do it yourself. -- Rob

that was a reasonable response... who are you and what have you done with lucky??? never mind that. can you stay?? Id add that when viewing stats, knowing where the numbers came from is good. for instance, alcohol related traffic accidents... dont know if its still true (likely) but at some point, if there was an intoxicated passenger, it was considered alcohol related. those are the stats MADD liked to quote. and polls... know the sample size, domain, and (rarely vailabel) questions asked. -- Rob

while the taxes are being paid and debt racked up wrt operations in Iraq, anyone who has lost their life in that debacle, volunteered for service. Yes, death is tragic, and I'm not minimizing any sacrifices made. But let's not pretend they were drafted and required to join the service. -- Rob -

glad you struck that. Frosted mini-wheats would be the Cadillac cereal and be subject to an additional tax. -- Rob -
ok. I see your position. I'm just not into blanket generalizations. Then show me examples where teh RW hasn't been lock-stepped. no. because that's not my point. spin that response how you will. But that's not my point. You're apparently into blanket generalizations, and I'm not. You probably also quote polls and statistics. (even though I'm sure you know how easy it is to skew poll and statistics) -- Rob

And so I must like all of the bill or none of it? Come on bro, I don't work like that; I'm liberal. I despise that part of it, but it's worth it to get the rest of it. States will sue and that part might be unconstitutional. I just hadn't seen any qualifications from you on what you didn't like. And all liberals don't work like that. I'm not into blanket generalizations. -- Rob

yeah. since when is it a good idea to post facts to SC?? nobody will pay attention to them anyway. And the post was more than 3 lines long so everyone just skipped it to see what was said about it :) -- Rob

so you like this bill... it will require people to buy health insurance (in a few years) but it pissed you off that Auto insurance and seatbelts were required? I'm not doubting your recollection of your opinions. I just see some discontinuity. -- Rob

ok... makes more sense now. Totally wasn't trying to shoot the messenger, just thought you were dismissing the 10th out of hand because the fed.gov held the big stick of the military and had the fed courts in their pocket. I see where you're coming from now. -- Rob -
if my taxes are going to subsidize health insurance for anyone, I want them to take care of themselves. However, enacting something like this would be responded to with comparisons to literacy tests and poll taxes. The difference is that this would be a good thing. -- Rob
