  1. Hi John, I completely agree. And, I have little concern as to the manipulating of the stock mkt. It is the 2024 election where we will see it at it's worse. Jerry Baumchen
  2. Hi Joe, If you were to ask me if I like apples, I would say 'Yes.' However, I do not like all types of apples. I feel the same way about this: but I like the idea of intentionally filing frivolous lawsuits in order to bankrupt large companies even less. I have no problem with the 'frivolous lawsuits' against the gun mfrs. After all, it is the American way. Jerry Baumchen
  3. Hi folks, Slowly, but surely, we are making some progress: "You only need one or two lawsuits to win to transform the whole industry," Federal law protects firearms industry from lawsuits. Uvalde parents test limits : NPR If we can keep up the pressure through these lawsuits, hopefully, we will change this country. I know it is a slim hope, but it is better than the continual slaughter. Jerry Baumchen
  4. Hi Rob, Few people are ever satisfied when someone else buys something for them. How would you like it if someone you do not know bought you your rig? As I grew older, my mother learned to always put the receipt in the pocket of any shirt that she bought for me for my birthday. It made it much easier to do the exchange. Jerry Baumchen
  5. Hi folks, Here is a non-paywall version: Opinion | Bragg spells out statutes that bump up Trump's charges - The Washington Post (archive.ph) Jerry Baumchen
  6. Hi Rich, Firehouse talk was sexual until women began coming into the job. BTDT, Jerry Baumchen
  7. Hi Ken, But, it is what he 'heard.' Jerry Baumchen
  8. Hi folks, IMO we need a few more Oopsies like this one: Accounting error means Pentagon can send an additional $3 billion in weapons to Ukraine | AP News Jerry Baumchen
  9. Hi Ken, IMO this is what it will take. Jerry Baumchen
  10. Hi folks, As I was watching the news this evening, with a major story on the great images that have been developed of the Titanic, I had to think of Ralph White. Ralph spent more time filming the Titanic than anyone. He also ran the dz at Sky Haven Airport, Lancaster, California in the mid-'60's. Quite a number of his air-to-air photos appeared in SKYDIVER magazine back in those days. With the new transition of this website, all of the photos taken by Ralph & posted here are now gone. Ralph B. White - IMDb Jerry Baumchen PS) Some embellishment in that link, Ralph was never on the US Team.
  11. Hi Robert, Just another nail in the GOP Family Values coffin. Jerry Baumchen PS) I pity the poor bastard who gets her next; if anyone. PPS) No ad blocker here: Rep. Lauren Boebert Files for Divorce (businessinsider.com)
  12. Hi Phil, Mitch McConnell rails against all the pork spent by Congress Critters. But, don't you dare talk about the tobacco subsidies for those Kentucky farmers. Jerry Baumchen
  13. Hi Bill, Well, here is someone who thinks she is: Vogue's Anna Wintour to host Harris fundraiser in New York - POLITICO Tickets for the May 30 fundraiser, which organizers are planning for 50 to 75 people, will start at $10,000. Let's see the Trumpees match that. * Jerry Baumchen * If they sold all of their guns & that pickup, then they might be able to.
  14. Hi Bill, Skill has limits; even LeBron James has limits. Stupidity has no limits. Jerry Baumchen PS) I used to say that I would rather be lucky than skillful - because luck also has no limits.
  15. Hi Bill, This morning, I was reading a newspaper article on 'fear' in gun owners. Here is a similar article: Opinion | A Gun-Filled America Is a World of Fear and Alienation - Silk-News.com Jerry Baumchen PS) As I have posted before; I bought a gun when I was 13 yrs old ( summer of 1954 ). I had it for a few years, don't remember how or when I got rid of it. It is/was the only gun I have ever owned. I do not live in fear. I will not allow myself to do so.
  16. Hi Ken, Reminds me of the old saying: 'I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.' Jerry Baumchen
  17. Hi Sky, And, the GOP House of Reps committee spent millions trying to find something on Hillary. All they came up with was a turd in their hand. Jerry Baumchen
  18. Hi Phil, IMO it is a very welcome shift. For me, all religions are as phony as a $3.00 bill. YMMV, Jerry Baumchen
  19. Hi Bill, As my favorite math teacher in college would consistently say: 'Prove it.' Jerry Baumchen
  20. Hi Ken, And, the world became a lesser place because of that. Jerry Baumchen
  21. Hi folks, Sometimes you just have to fight back against the MAGA BS: community members that truly want to celebrate who we are, rather than those attempting to change our culture Florida New College students plan alternative graduation against Trump pandemic adviser - POLITICO If this country does not flush the MAGA BS down the toilet, we are screwed. We are also screwed if this country re-elects Trump. Jerry Baumchen
  22. Hi Joe, The pundits like to put voters into categories. IMO the decisive votes will be the suburban females; whether they be housewives/stay-at-home-moms or those in the workforce. I do not seeing them supporting Trump. And, I doubt that they would support DeSantis. I may be out in LaLa-Land, but, that is my take as of now. Jerry Baumchen PS) Ponder this: State Homepage - Emerge Oregon (emergeamerica.org) They are a force to be reckoned with. Wendy, you could start one on the east coast.
  23. Hi Wendy, I'm with you on this one. However, Kamala Harris is someone that I would prefer to not have on the ballot. * Jerry Baumchen * Gretchen Whitmer comes to mind: Gretchen Whitmer - Wikipedia => decisive woman governing
  24. Hi Bill, My money says if it comes down to Biden vs Trump, Biden will win again. He was not my choice in 2020, but he did get the win. Jerry Baumchen
  25. Hi Joe, Re: any 'moderate' Rs in NC Well, here is one from SC: Nikki Haley: Federal abortion ban is unrealistic - POLITICO Jerry Baumchen
