Hi John, I had an uncle that once said, 'Some people would complain if they hung them with a new rope.' He will probably complain that the new orange jumpsuit does not go with his hair. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi 1960, I know very little about them. For a while, there was a single keel on the dz I jumped at. It is my understanding that the double-keels came down a lot slower. It is a long shot but try to find one if you can. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, As I continue to say: He is his own worst enemy. IMO that is a good thing for the rest of us. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi folks, An interesting commentary; will take a few minutes to read: Struggling to survive on the Oregon Coast: Steve Duin column - oregonlive.com Angela Benton puts it well: “Nature has a way of finding the balance.” You and I have a way of screwing that up. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, The crux of your link: And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully. That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead. Putin, anyone? Jerry Baumchen -
Hi John, I guess that I am not a lone voice in the wilderness, then. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, I am just a guy who has always been concerned about the over-population of our planet. Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi Joe, This is the big IF. If we could just let the population decrease by having less offspring, not so bad. If we actually get to starving, not so good. Stalin starved millions in Ukraine in the '30's. One reason [ not the only ] World War I ended was when the Allies blockaded the German ports so they could not import food. People were falling over dead in Berlin due to starvation. Lots of IFs. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Phil, IMO if we do not get this thing turned around, there is going to be mass starvation on this planet. Now, that might be a good thing. Getting rid of about 65% of the human population might bring us to some type of sustaining balance. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Tanya, Being quite a bit older than you, I am just not a podcast type of person. If there is a transcript, I would like to read it. Re: It's scary how much we collectively have forgotten I am consistently astounded by this. However, as George Santana said: Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. Jerry Baumchen -

Hi folks, I'm watching a NBC News Special Report on tv. Interestingly, I do not see even one Trump supporter in the crowd outside of the courtroom. Up next, apparently, is a hearing on 28 Aug. Get out the popcorn, Jerry Baumchen -

Hi folks, Looks like Bill Barr is putting another nail into the Trump coffin: "But that does not protect you from entering into a conspiracy." Bill Barr says Donald Trump 'knew well he lost the election' - BBC News Additionally: By saying his former boss knew he had lost the election, Mr Barr is undermining another plank of Mr Trump's defence which is that he was not defrauding the American people because he always believed he had won. Looks to me like the prosecutor has a lot of ammo to bomb any defense Trump might present. Jerry Baumchen -

Hi Mark, Makes Watergate look like a playground dustup. For anyone with a strong interest in American history, this is great time to grab the popcorn and stay tuned. The next 4-6 yrs are going to be very interesting; if not defining. Jerry Baumchen -

Hi folks, Looks to me that they will need some more gas in the tank to 'extinguish' anybody: It shouldn’t surprise anybody that real people . . . don’t want to invest in these clowns 'Everything has fallen off a cliff': Battleground state GOPs nosedive in Trump era - POLITICO There was a time when we actually had a 2-party system here; not so much anymore. Hi Bill, There is a house just down the street from me. I drive by it almost every day. About a yr or so ago, he hung a flag on his fence [ can't miss it when you drive by ] that said something about stopping socialism. Hm, OK, wonder what he feels about the police and fire dep'ts? Then about 8-9 months ago, he hung another flag on his fence: Trump 2024 Well, that is beginning to define him. Now, both flags are gone. Looks like some neighbors may have had a 'talk' with him. Me, I just thought he was another idiot. However, I not once asked him to take down either flag. Jerry Baumchen
