  1. Well, at the SOS record jumps at Elsinore no too long ago there was a quite new Corvette with a USPA sticker on it & disabled license plates. That made me stop and ponder. JerryBaumchen
  2. Hi ian, ***now get your voter registration card and VOTE!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Actually that was one of the biggest driving forces in my decision Drop me an email and I'll give you a couple of tips on who to vote for, since you're new at it. JerryBaumchen
  3. Hi Billy, You could always jump around that switch then he would be OK. I did on my last car with a stick, JerryBaumchen
  4. Hi Ronaldo, Well, you have a countryman not too far from where Mark Lancaster has his shop. Gus Marinho of Rigging Solutions. He has a website. It might be worth a try to contact Gus and see if he could do anything for you. JerryBaumchen
  5. Hi psycho, Re: Hey, this is kinda odd too. USPA' license accuracy requirements are in meters not feet. But the altitudes are all represented in feet not meters... Welcome to the nutty measuring system in the USA. JerryBaumchen
  6. Hi howard, Re: No. Well, he actually told us once in an edition of his DZ-USA. C.E. = Carlos Eugene => Gene JerryBaumchen
  7. Hi Ronaldo, I cannot help you with Mark Lancaster. To locate Pete Swan just google The Parachute Center. They can put you in touch with him. However, going by what you have posted, I doubt that Pete can help; but it might be worth a try. Better than doing nothing else. JerryBaumchen
  8. Hi howard, Re: DZ-USA was published by C. E. "Gene" Hunnell So do you know how a guy with the initials C.E. gets a name of Gene? Some trivia for you, JerryBaumchen

  11. Hi bigway, That patent has long since expired. JerryBaumchen PS) Do you really think he ever enforced it?
  12. Hi Nick, Many, many years ago, here in Portland, OR, he just another ordinary newsman. There was absolutely nothing about him that you would think could turn him into what he is today. Oh, I forgot; it was THE MONEY. He's just another . . . ( nope, I really don't want to get down to his level ). JerryBaumchen
  13. Hi Nick, Re: get what you want (screw colors), I have said for years that if ALL mfrs would offer ONLY black trim & black harnesses we could cut the production times substantially. This would also allow them to stock more goods for quicker deliveries. And after a few months, sales would be right back to where they are now. No one wants to be the first to do it. JerryBaumchen
  14. Hi goldwing, The Nationals were in Olathe, KS in 1962. Jerry Baumchen
  15. Hi sky, From a now deceased Canadian, a grammatically correct sentence: "F**king f**kers f**ked." JerryBaumchen
  16. Hi Zig, Re: ... how about some wet beaver? Well, Oregon is the Beaver State. It is our official animal. There once was a law that if you shot a beaver you had to eat it. Probably why I have never left the state. And about 20 yrs ago there was a rather famous poster of a nude girl running in the woods during the rain with the caption Oregon Streakers Are Wet Beavers. 17. Hi zeppo, For anything that you have done for training and for a letter stating such, it will have to be under an FAA-licensed rigger. Now, if you plan to take some additional course here in the USA, then you're OK. Sorry, the US FAA does not recognize any other country's ratings. If your CSPA trainer is a FAA-licensed rigger, you're good to go. JerryBaumchen
  18. Hi mkvk, Do you have an actual question for us? Then maybe someone could help you. JerryBaumchen
  19. Hi howard, The Seattle Skydivers always throw a Christmas party. One year ( when 'fish' ties were in fashion ) Dave showed with an actual fish tied to his neck & hanging down his chest. The smell gave it away. JerryBaumchen
  20. Hi jon, Dave Ruckert; one VERY unique person. JerryBaumchen
  21. Hi Folks, I'm wanting to get one of these things. Anyone got any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks, JerryBaumchen PS) I NEVER buy on just price. I want something good.
  22. Hi peckerhead, Just to keep you honest; it happened in '78, about two weeks after my son was born. That is why I know the year. JerryBaumchen
  23. Hi peckerhead, That is what killed Donk back in '78 at Ralph's place. He was jumping a rig that had been converted to a throwout. When he tossed the pilot chute it failed to pull out the doubled-over Type 4 line that was used to keep the main container closed ( no pin back then ). He then pulled the reserve ( a round canopy ) and had a good, functioning canopy overhead. The opening shock allowed the main ( a square ) to get out of the container; it then got out of the bag and was swirling around. He cut it away and it slid up the suspension lines and choked off the reserve, resulting in a streamer. Ralph was flying and watched the whole thing happen. You might ask him about some day.
