I agree that our tribalism is what has brought us to be ( by some definitions ) the most advanced species on our planet. IMO racism is a learned thing; it has nothing to do with being innate. I fully understand & accept that there will be mistakes as we go forward. Life is like that. As a young man, I served in the US military & worked in military hospitals.     Hi Doug, I am one who really, really wants to keep the national debt as low as possible. I even support raising taxes to actually pay it down ( blasphemy to most politicians ). However, these are no where near 'normal times.' It is time to step up to the plate and do what we can to help our people & our economy. Jerry Baumchen

    Hi folks, BREAKING NEWS on my local tv station evening news just now. It seems as though a federal judge ( I have no other info ) has ruled that the adults incarcerated in Oregon Correctional Facilities ( prisons ) must go to the head of the line for Covid-19 vaccinations. This decision is the result of a lawsuit previously filed. I would be OK with their just being integrated into the existing state protocols, and get in line like the rest of us. Jerry Baumchen

    Hi Bill, I continue to be amazed at far & how fast the infrastructure for EVs have come. Back when the automobile(s) first became available in this country, if you wanted fuel, you had to take your own container(s) ( usually glass back then ) to a pharmacy, pay them, and then they would fill your container(s). Then you had to get back home & put the fuel into your automobile. IMO rather inconvenient for any long-distance travelling. Jerry Baumchen
