Hi folks, And another one bites the dust: ‘The jury deliberated for about 90 minutes . . . before convicting 25-year-old Kaleb Cole of five felony charges, including conspiracy, mailing threatening communications and interfering with a federally protected activity. He could face a decade in prison’ US jury convicts leader of neo-Nazi threat campaign - OPB Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Trump's record of losing in court just keeps going, and going, and going: ‘There have been plenty of songwriters and recording artists over the years objecting to Republican politicians using their music. Sometimes, that results in litigation, but almost never a court ruling’ Judge Rejects Donald Trump Bid to Escape Song Copyright Lawsuit (msn.com) He's better than the Timex watch. Jerry Baumchen -

Hi folks, ‘The CDC is now hoping to get a fuller picture of the data and long-neglected details on the impact of daily gun violence.’ The CDC Wants To Study The True Toll Of Guns In America : NPR It will be interesting to see what they come up with. Hopefully, something that might change a few minds on the SCOTUS. I am not holding my breath. Jerry Baumchen -

Hi folks, I've travelled a lot in my life; I've been in more grocery stores than I can remember; however, I have never seen any Stupid Pills on sale. So where are they getting them? ‘Republicans fit roughly into three camps: A minority who believe that Biden won legitimately, a majority who believe that the election was stolen but can't be undone, and a smaller but incredibly vocal group who believe there is still a chance to remove Biden by challenging the 2020 results.’ The Trailer: The endless audit: Where Republicans go next after Arizona's ballot review confirmed Biden's win (msn.com) Jerry Baumchen -

Hi Don, Re: unfortunately a large segment of the US population are so clueless that they have no idea about what is really happening. One of the truest statements ever posted. And, the sad part is that some of them prefer to remain clueless. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi Robert, From the link: reflect poorly on Donald Trump’s efficacy as a leader and depict his White House as full of lying, incompetency, and inappropriate behavior. Now, who would have ever guessed that? Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, I think Mitch McConnell has gone to the Joseph Goebbels School of Propaganda. Tell'em a lie; & keep telling it; eventually, some of them will believe it. Heck, if enough people keep telling it, it becomes the truth. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Here in Oregon, vote by mail, has been the only way to vote for over 20 yrs: ‘Newsom’s signature on Assembly Bill 37 will make that ( vote by mail ) permanent by requiring the state to send ballots with prepaid return envelopes to all voters in statewide and local elections.’ Newsom makes vote-by-mail permanent in California (msn.com) If only more states would get on this bandwagon. Thoughts????? Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, IMO good riddance: Massachusetts State Police Troopers Resign Over A COVID Vaccine Mandate : Coronavirus Updates : NPR He seems to forget that these troopers had a choice: "It is unfortunate that the Governor and his team have chosen to mandate one of the most stringent vaccine mandates in the country with no reasonable alternatives," State Police Association president Michael Cherven said in a statement. I guess that getting vax'd is not a reasonable alternative. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, Well, if it is that complicated, then there is only one thing to do: Get the Dog on it. 'when people began reaching out to him to look into Laundrie’s disappearance.' Gabby Petito homicide: For Dog the Bounty Hunter, search for Brian Laundrie is personal (msn.com) What a total & complete idiot. * Now, back to your regular schedule. Jerry Baumchen * The simple fact that this idiot has a tv program that people watch is one more step on the dumbing down of this country. National Enquirer anyone?

Hi feuergnom, I worked in US federal gov't. contracting for 30 yrs. A 'special bond' IMO has nothing to do with it. The only thing we ever looked at was Capability & Capacity. Capability - Can they actually perform on the contract; do they have the know-how Capacity - Do they have the capacity ( facilities, personnel, equipment, etc ) to complete the contract on time. Jerry Baumchen PS) If the contract is for R & D, then forget all of the above. That is an entire different animal. One example of this would be the 'jump' where Ted Strong was killed; 4 guys in a quad out of the rear hatch on a cargo plane. -
Hi folks, The insanity is spreading; come on Darwin: The meeting was postponed officials said for safety reasons after the crowd banged on doors and shouted at police. Anti-mask protest forces Idaho school board to cancel meeting to plan reopening - oregonlive.com Jerry Baumchen PS) I guess that if the anti-vax/anti-mask people keep dieing at the rate they do currently, we will reach herd immunity soon. Hmmm, OK with me.

Hi Ken, Re: Freightliner truck Do you drive one? I worked there, part-time back in the 60's, while in college. I worked in the Advance Design Test Lab. Had a lot of fun testing all kinds of stuff. One on the best jobs I have ever had. Back then, they were a great place to work; I do not know about today as they are now owned by Daimler. Jerry Baumchen PS) While I was there, we built the very first dual-sleeper cab.

Hi Ken, As much as I abhor what happened, as you note above, the primary difference is that the US ( we, me, etc ) did not intend for that to happen. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, OK, you Canadians: What is going on? 'he asked the nurse why she vaccinated his wife without approval, without his consent' Canadian man punches nurse in the face multiple times after his wife is vaccinated for Covid-19 without his consent (msn.com) What I really want to know is since when does a woman have to have her spouse's consent before doing almost anything? What a Neanderthal. Jerry Baumchen

California governor recall election
JerryBaumchen replied to headoverheels's topic in Speakers Corner
Hi Ken, Re: A pretty clear indication that most of the population is sick of the R bullshit. With the S12 rally in Washington, DC this past Saturday, the continuing Trump rallies ( that are having less & less attendance ) I do think this country is getting sick of it. Now, that does not mean that the hard-core Trumpies will ever change their minds. I've given up on them. However, it does seem to me that most of the people leaving the GOP are not becoming Democrats, they are registering as independents. I've met some that can no longer stand Trump; but, they simply cannot ever be a Democrat. They may vote D but they ( so far ) will not register as a D. And, that is just fine with me.
