  1. Power to the executive is how nations survive and nations survive by conquering other nations and taking their wealth, if history tells the truth. If current humanity survives its nascent growing pains it will consolidate under a single authority and that authority will not resemble the PTA.

People? That's a hang up we have we'd be wise to discard. We're animals, just half a chromosome away from being Bonobos and it's obvious to see. The most of us need to take an honest look around and open our ears to what is being broadcast over the airwaves loud clear: we'd kill each other for power or short term gain given the chance. Nothing much has changed since Genghis Khan or Alexander the Great or WWI or WWII or whatever your marking point may be. The name of the game used to be survival of the fittest. Give a critter a little intelligence and scheming ability and the game changes according to the rules of nature. What do we better people dream of? Well, packing the court and imposing our will, packing congress and the senate and imposing our will, and having a perpetual progressive executive and imposing our will. We are no different except in our own minds.
  3. If Facebook were a dropzone someone would have taken Zuckerberg out back and beat his ass long ago.
  4. First the glands, then the drooling. Step back a planet or two for a better view and we won't seem any different.
  5. US Propaganda, you say? Here's some more: https://www.military.com/daily-news/2024/06/14/pentagon-stands-secret-anti-vaccination-disinformation-campaign-philippines-after-reuters-report.html
  6. There are gears slipping, alright, and it's not just SCOTUS: it is us. We shouldn't need them to tell us that bump stocks, silencers, automatic weapons of any type, etc. etc. etc., aren't necessary to living a happy fulfilled life any more than we should need a church to teach us right from wrong or what is moral or not. We are a sick, selfish, society unable by all evidence to collectively do the right things for the right reasons: cue up the original sin crowd and fire up the band. Hopefully in the future, when our fossilized remains are being studied, they won't be laughing too hard.
  7. So, what goes up is confusing? I've always believed that without evidence. Thanks.
  8. What they need to see is the folly of moving onto sea level, reclaimed, swamp land in a hurricane zone and expecting daddy to come save them---again.
  9. If there were no fish in the sea, eager to bite, would it still be trolling? You have him blocked, good on you. Others here treat his posts like they were paying for a subscription and they simply must to reply to avoid cancellation. Some of us just consider him prime material to work on our snark. Perhaps you should block all of us, too. That, or continue enjoying the looking glass and using our posts to continue calling him a troll until you reach a million times. Maybe then we'll get it.
  10. I recall a debate between Christopher Hitchens and Tariq Ramadan where Ramadan, defending the Koran, posited that the problem wasn't with the book but with the reader. Surely that's too often true for all of us or we would always be in agreement and BillVon would need to get a real job. The point being that whereas one might argue that Brent may assimilate climate information through a blurred lens, and with confidence, so do we. I am often in full throated disagreement with Brent but he is neither a fool or a lunatic and he is certainly far from stupid.
  11. Nothing less than a packing of the court will work. Power in the hands of religious, partisan, so called conservatives, will be this nations ruin.
  12. The war on science and secularism, I think.
  13. No drug test, no psychological evaluation, no nothing, and he did it by zoom with his lawyer sitting there. Even when he’s being held accountable the whole thing is a farce. He’s right about one thing, for him the rules don’t apply.

Not really. More likely is they are just like you: mine now. Except they are fully insulated from the hell Trumps Presidency will force on average folks.

Well I'll be dipped in frack water and rolled in waste pond sludge, are you saying that the root cause of inflation worldwide is an over reliance on oil because the world economy is trapped into a single currency payment system? That's a bummer. So buying less foreign oil would be an anti-inflationary policy? How can we do that and how long would it take to start making progress?

But none of that affected the USA. There is no world economy, that's leftie BS. Biden did this to us, plain and simple.

Meanwhile in the rest of the world Biden is also wrecking their economies, inflating away their currencies, raising prices on everything, and causing food bank lines. It's all Biden, all of the time.

That escapes no one. But it was a horse shit claim, beyond his normal disingenuous game.

You have got to be shitting me. You need to put down that exhaust pipe, yo.
  20. No matter, I fuck up too - sometimes three. So past that, even if a guy does believe EV's aren't all they're fracked up to be, it does make them a convenient back-up power source with attendant advantages, no? They're going to be around, win or lose in the car sphere, and as good as ICE vehicles are, we still find uses for horses, steam power, and sailing vessels.
  21. Did you even read your own unattributed quote? 82.5% of original capacity is awesome for a backup power mission. You are mistaken that means it's then at <20% capacity.
  22. But they suck. Carry this to the cross if that’s your hearts desire, but I’m getting a used EV for an emergency and mobile power source because it makes sense. No fumes or noise , lots of power and you have a spare car for short runs. What’s not to like?
  23. So is a tank of unleaded but just try plugging your house into that in a power outage. Picking at this is silly. The ability to have your car power your house or your dialysis machine in an emergency or just out camping is an advantage.

No, you are not. You are supposed to believe whatever Brent claims as if it were well researched, unbiased, chiseled in stone, or even made a form of sense on offer somewhere in the galaxy.

Mustering up the maximum amount of respect I have for your dancing abilities: bollocks.
