We're on the same page, for sure. But if it looks like Biden can overcome this I'll not cut off my nose to spite my face. My huge advantage in this debate is I'm used to being wrong.

And they apparently thought so what or, more accurately, thought Biden screwed the pooch as opposed to losing the debate. Biden pulled in $14 million post debate to Trumps $8 Million. So there's that, too.

Of course he backs Biden. We also back Biden but we have deep and valid concerns. We also recognize time isn't with us. If Biden reaches down and erases last night we will be thrilled campers. Hell even if Trump bungles it up so badly that Biden improves his standing, good enough for me. But last night he was old, week, and confused. Imagine if he wasn't up against a lying sack like Trump.

Agreed. The whole thing sucks. The reality is that there is not unlimited time until there is no more time so if Biden can be replaced with a better choice it has to be on the table and open for discussion. That is what realists do. If Trump is sent to the slammer or some other debilitating thing befalls him or if there is no replacement than we continue eyes wide open.

The mechanism to emplace a whole new team isn't straight forward, it seems. Also, while we agree about Biden we are still waiting on post debate polling for guidance. We're also waiting to see if Trump is put in the can by Merchan. Now that would be some real patriotism.

We aren’t. We’re displaying honesty and rationality. We recognize that there are likely enough voters who will vote Trump, regardless of the depth and breadth of the problems that brings, over a sad old man who needs to let go and that democracy as we know it now will be at risk.

Time to think strategically. It's time for Harris to bow out to spend more time gardening. Then Biden picks a semi-liberal white male for his running mate who isn't yet 72, who has executive experience, has at least a few gray hairs, and who is from a mid-west industrial state that leans red: Sherrod Brown comes to mind. Then hope like hell.

Agreed, 100%. I hate it but there it is. Also, Kamala needs to get real. Bottom line: Joe looked like a real old man who is well meaning but no one you'd have drive you home late at night. It felt like we are living through the Rise and Fall of the American Republic.

After minute 47 of the debate I decided to go for a swim and see if, based on that training, I could hold my breath for a new personal best. No joy, I'm still here. At 1.5 hours I returned thinking it was over. Again, no joy. Biden is old and his stutter doesn't help. Trump is a fire hose of Bullshit. This election will likely be decided by the lowest of our low information voters, so not good.

You might not have noticed that I have not come out in favor of Aircraft CO2 control. Mostly, I'm convinced we're plain fucked unless some miracle technology happens in real time and have said so. It's not that AGW isn't real it's just that the headwinds are too severe. You have very much come out in favor of gun regulations but, apparently, when it comes to your friends, not so much. So you know, I've done a crap load of things both inside and outside of the jump biz for the right reasons even when it caused economic pain.
