The Lord will protect them, John. Obviously, if the Lord decides to act in mysterious ways and not protect them for some higher purpose or to bring them home that is good, too. Certainly, if the Lord decided to have one of your little ones infect the President that's also a higher purpose and might get you an extra cookie.

There have been a lot of named storms, that's true. But it hasn't been the major storm barn burner that was predicted thus far. A lot of what has developed was sort of localized in the Gulf between the Yucatan and the Florida Keys. There are two official Hurricane months to go, unofficially October is the last serious threat month, so anything is still possible. That said, based on sea surface temperatures as I experienced them from the leewards to the windwards and down to the ABC's, the numbers of major storms that I expected are yet to materialize. -

Are you going to wait until someone comes up the road past your deadenders sign to announce that you have more bullets than sense? No? Why not post a sign instead. Maybe they'll just leave you to your delusions with your ammo intact.

Lot's of guns doesn't necessarily indicate little sense. I personally don't get the fascination with Glocks and fold up guns of the same caliber for convenience when shotguns, for the vast majority of folks, are vastly superior for defense. Guy's like Brent dig those guns and he practices regularly so I doubt there will be a pile of milk men and paper boys outside his redoubt. In any case, regardless of Ron's desires, I don't think we're heading for civil war so I don't see a concern. A real concern is having some supplies and a power source on hand for natural disasters. That doesn't just make sense, it's smart.

mbohu, It is that, no doubt. I personally believe the disconnect happens at the level of the brain. Evolution being a fact, we should expect a variety of brain organizations. We should also expect brain chemistry variations. But we should also expect imperfect characterizations and groupings as we try to make sense of it all. All liberals, including me for example, aren't fully "liberal". All conservatives, Billvon comes to mind, aren't full on conservatives. But just as big groups of liberals think a more equal division of everything is sensible, big groups of conservatives think sharing on principle is senseless. Kind of sort of, unless some outside force causes us unbearable pain, we think and believe according to our wiring and chemistry.
