No, it's not just another way of saying it. And thanks, but I'll take a pass on your straw man argument that follows.
-
Negative. More people who voted preferred Hillary over Trump. Our absurd electoral college system not withstanding, that should not be seen as much of a credential. Hillary was nominated by her powerful political machine that precluded the possibility of a more viable challenger to Trump.

Perfect person with whom to use the Midsomer analogy.

I no longer believe that. I think some here just enjoy the fun of engaging the troll. Regardless of the protestations, there is scant little to zero minus of value being earned from their efforts. It's like they have fun crapping on the comments and the rest of us get plunger duty.
-
Step 1 would be to convince the mod's to stop responding to the troll.

Sorry. I failed computer science.
-
Crap! I never thought of that. No forum rules with PM's?
-
Got me, but you are right. She better behave!

Time to hang it up Jerry. How much you want for your 255 likes?

I choose to not believe McConnell would have tried to deny Obama the appointment with 2 years to go. But as all who follow me here will attest, I'm just a hopeless romantic.
-
Because 7-8 years ago she'd already battled colon and pancreatic cancer, both big killers. Part of me thinks she wanted to give Hillary the seat to replace.
-
Several friends and I discussed her resigning in Obama's second term. Whether Obama asked or not she should have been less selfish and done so.

I hope they do confirm whomever is nominated and I hope they do it fast. The reality is that it's going to happen. They just do not give a shit and the prize too good. Played properly it won't hurt McConnells or Lindsey's opponents this election and would likely help others, too. It also eliminates the campaign talking point of who will fill Ginsburg's seat. Also, with a solid 6-3 voting block anyone who voted for Trump just to get rid of Roe might have less motivation to vote. In the meantime D's should just shut the fuck up about increasing the size of the court or ending the filibuster or holding their breaths and stomping their feet. Let the R's do the deed and make it look as brazen and odious as it is. If Biden loses it was going to happen anyway and if he wins then start fighting dirty and expand the court, end the filibuster and make every republican asshat in congress sit at school desks in the hallway while everything Trump and McConnell gets undone.

And against stiff competition, too.

For a lot of people it's just a definitional thing with racism, I'm thinking. Sort of like most people don't really dislike spiders they just don't want any in the house.
-
Why didn't I think of doing that? No matter, thank you for the reminder and your persistent efforts. You've a long hard row ahead but eventually we'll all be worn down or time expired and the world will be a better place.

Nice.

They mind their business and I mind mine. We even wave at each other on occasion. They even believe in my God no matter that my God don't believe in them. Can't be more sociable than that.

John, the number deaths are simply awful. But it's not the same thing and the demographics are vastly different. It's like when people say something was like the power of ten Hiroshima bombs. Better way's of being disgusted are on offer.

Did she get banned for espousing reasonability? Who could have seen that coming?
-
Well no shit McConnell will push it through. I guess you weren't worried about it when he showed the republican intention to make a mockery of the judicial nomination system in 2016 or you would have voted for something greater than unleaded gas.
-
A tears of joy emoticon. I didn't know we had those. You know, you could set yourself free and reject the idea of voting for short term self interest and instead vote for the good of the nation. Global warming disagreements will still be here, so will fossil fuels, Tesla and Billvon. With a 6th conservative Supreme installed that weight will be off your shoulders, too. Just a thought.
-
But he's your guy in this election because, well, stuff.
-
And also what you want.

There hasn't been a free market in this country since the last beaver pelt was traded for a block of pemmican.
