Of course Putins not bluffing. He exercised his authority as an autocrat. We don't have one of those, yet. All of post #37 was to position our troops to go in not our allies. And that's the problem, once again it would be a coalition of one and some stragglers. Without your plan there are already plenty of German, French, Dutch and British troops and planes ready to go. Let them threaten Putin first. We'll provide support in equal measures. Sorry man, we'll just need to agree to disagree.
-
You'd risk World War III on a bluff? I mean, under what authority could you even make such a play? Even if you could pretzel logic a legal sounding pretense why send Americans first? That's plain wrong. Now if you want to position some US divisions on our allies soil so they can send an equal amount first that would be fine by me.

I'd say Santayana's reminder cuts both ways. Help me understand what I don't, if you were given the green light to act as you read this post what actions would you take and when?

Those owners manuals are written by lawyers and oil company shills. An oil company friend, as in corner office type, tells me that modern oils and filters are good for a lot longer than recommended in the manual.

Sure, whatever you like. I am happy for our nation to honor our treaty obligations but in the absence of a strike on a NATO ally I just don't think we should be sending troops to fight. I am no doubt a prisoner of my own ignorance and won't pretend to know more than those in charge. But for now I think the Europeans should be in charge, and leading the charge.
-
This is why is I say the onus must be on the Europeans. They have their Union and regardless of the expense they must show Russia, it probably isn't just Putin, that they will vigorously support their territory and that of their friends. But that's their Union, not NATO. To the Union we send material, intelligence and if needed troops to hold ground in NATO countries so their forces can deploy forward. Obviously we hope they're not stupid about it and get their own countries attacked because then we're all screwed.

The man has a speech impediment. He's advanced to the pinnacle in a career that requires constant public and private speaking and, for him personally I dare say, a fair degree of humility. Neither you nor any others here can claim to know what mental work arounds Biden need must use constantly to keep from stuttering or running over his own words. Nor can you know the pressure of controlling your disability while giving a speech as impactful as the State of the Union Address. Now maybe it's just a little too woke for you to give him any benefit of doubt but if he were my dad or kid or friend I'd be damn proud of him. As my President I'm double damn proud of him. There is much to pick on him for, why not go there instead?

American Military. I'm a long way from asking Brent for advice on citizenship.
-
Not true. We ditched him at the next election. We still have a history of those every 4 years; impeachments not really. But you get my point I'm certain. A lot of folks, and SC is no exception, speak of military actions for this or that with no real understanding of the underlying capabilities or the full range of consequences. For example, the other day I needed to hold my nose and ask Brent how long it would take to get a mythical shipment of small arms into Ukrainian hands because I just did not know. (I also asked BIGUN but he's still mad at me for not wanting to invade, I think)
-
And if we could we'd first float the idea on SC. Anyway Ken, you are as clueless as to America's ability to remove Putin as am I.
-
Don is right. It was a stupid statement. Stop defaulting to a teardown of the Biden administration. OPEC could release all of the oil needed if they were our friends and allies. They are not. We may need to pump more oil now but the sooner the western world is weaned from that pox the better life will be.

You wouldn't agree that unsubstantiated assertions, that when called, and are then backed up with easily dissected proofs falls outside your analysis?
-
To be punctual, you should have provided it a few posts ago. That's the real problem with you young people, everything can wait and there's always time.
-
Thanks, you're real treasure. I usually get an advance copy, too, but lately I'm not hearing from anyone in Washington.
-
Convenient. But seeing as how I needed to clear customs in Miami with an airplane I just flew in from Colombia I thought maybe something a little more official looking was in order.
-
Okay. I accept my error.
-
That's hilarious. In 2001 I sneaked a sweet Twin Otter out of Medellin, Colombia using the same trick. It needed to be US registered for the insurance so I set it up that way. Rio Negros Airport is huge so it was a long taxi to the requested runway, not the active, and then an unusually long run up while the Columbian markings were wiped away. And here I thought I was being original.

All that are Nato flagged, yes, we just send replacements. This: https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-europe-60542877 Neighboring countries need to get their attack jets into Ukrainian pilot hands to hammer this now. If there isn't time then send their own pilots. Most are flying Mig-29's etc so it isn't a huge drama. They can do it.
-
And Brent was there waving them forward with his squirt gun?
-
Thanks Rob, that's closer to what I was wondering. 250 in 4 day's is big. 56 in a few hours with no Tanks lost by the attackers, if that's true, has to be huge.

Tlaib will point out that Biden isn't sufficiently Liberal so he sucks. In any universe other than the alternate one you preside over all right wing trolls would be encouraged if not thrilled. But nope, you're a giggle and agog because, well, FUN!
-
I think you should continue to fear death, maybe a little more. It's working, right?
-
That was Omar Bradley: “Amateurs talk strategy. Professionals talk logistics.” Close enough for SC, though. Thanks.
-
Why absolutely! Who could infer anything else from my post?

This might be a good time to list out your leadership credentials so that we can contextualize your non-stop denigration of our national leaders. I don't doubt you can run a mean packing floor or obstacle course. I am interested in the large organization experience that lets you see what isn't apparent for me.
