Be careful jumping like that. That's why the DZ asks you to fill out your medical info. That should have been caught before you went up. Get better and don't jump with a head cold again. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Exactly! It never ceases to amaze me the number of jumpers who buy a rig and then never maintain it. Maintain Thy Gear! I've been 5' away from someone when they had a premie during a sit fly due to a BOC they knew wasn't tight anymore. It's not only dangerous to the owner, it's dangerous to others. Sheesh. Ahhhh.....I remember that prison all too well. It was funny opening up by the prison and seeing them all head-up, mouth agape watching us. And lets not forget the tank farm for the national oil reserve....that's some fun landing area over there. This is the view over my DZ now. It sounds like you may have had some mild congestion when you went on your skydive, preventing you from equalizing pressure properly. It could have been a one-off thing, but if it's chronic, you will need to see a doctor. Rupturing an ear drum (or even worse, a sinus cavity) isn't a fun thing to have happen. Do you have any sinus or allergy problems? Like the above poster said, a doctor will be your best bet for an answer.

Tell him that if that were true, then using a parachute would be kind of pointless, wouldn't it? Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Ummm....not quite. Choppers were around in the 30's and 40's with the British bikes. They came after "Bobbers", where bits of the fender and such were bobbed off. Choppers differ in the fact that the frame geometry is changed in relation to the front forks. The frame is "chopped" and the front-end geometry changed.

Heh....no kidding. Ask anyone who was on the 17-way at Raeford in April of last year. Mouth was on the other side of the formation and I could hear her in freefall! That woman has supernatural lungs. edited cuz' I kan't spell Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Mouth? At Rantoulio? Schweet! I can't wait to get another one of those famous hugs from my favorite Georgia Peach of a SkyMonkey.

The Liquor Locker definitely hooked us up last year! Another thing....if you're planning on making any large gear purchases...hold off until the convention. You can snag some incredible deals there if your timing is right.

I'd want at least 100 on someone before they rodeo'd me. I'd want someone on my back who is heads-up enough to know what not to grab when things get exciting.

Our farm of SUS servers are ticking along nicely. We're already 85% done with upgrading our 9,000 PC's in the field. Now, if you'll excuse me, I am very busy here at my job. I still have half a california roll, a few pieces of my tuna roll, and a piece of salmon sushi left. I'm a very busy Messican. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

My landings went from good to SPLAT! What to do??
Kris replied to ReLLiK75's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Eh'? Creating drag on a canopy, and thereby making it stall sooner, is not the proper way. The proper way would be for him to get with an experienced jumper/coach to figure out where his issues are. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
How about the fact that it's the only helmet that is widely used in skydiving that is certified to any standard? Specifically, CE-1385, which is a multiple-impact rating. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Where's Unix/Linux? Sheesh....kids these days. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Seconded. The ProTec is the only helmet out there that offers any real protection. However, if you want a nice fashion statement that does a good job, I love my Bonehead Mindwarp. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I received my suit just under 3 weeks after I ordered it. The fit was perfect. I've put over 100 jumps on it so far and it still looks new and the seams are holding fine. However, that plastic-backed taslan they use is simply insane. Especially in the heat. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Spiderman II question: Did I understand this right?
Kris replied to peacefuljeffrey's topic in The Bonfire
Dangerous? Not really. High-energy? On its own, no. But fuse it with deuterium and you get one hell of an impressive show. Here's a link to some info on ICF (inertial confinement fusion) http://www.nuc.berkeley.edu/thyd/icf/DT_fusion.html Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
Two things jump out at me.... 1. You're using a canopy lined with HMA. Ditch the large bands for smaller microline bands and use single stows. Make sure the stows are symmetrical in length and tension to reduce wobble during the unstowing process. 2. This is the important one. 6" of line between the risers and the last stow is nowhere near long enough. That places the bag still in your burble when the lines start to unstow. Increase the length to 18". Pack the D-bag with lines towards the bottom and simply neatly coil the excess line at the top of the D-bag, on the bottom of the pack tray. Don't worry about having to tuck the lines in because the bottom of your container is "mushy". My Mirage is cut out for BirdMan on the bottom and I've done the same for awhile. I just tuck the stowed lines in, pull the side flaps over, and close it. No problems at all. And don't let anyone give you any grief over psycho-packing an elliptical. edited to address stowing lines to bottom. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
