  1. I think I may have made these cookies before......Yummmm...cookies... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  2. I would personally take a day off...Better to be safe, but if you are bound and determined to jump, eat sugary foods and drink plenty of OJ and water. Also, eat between jumps (small snacks) to keep your sugar up. Remember, that adrenaline rush depletes sugar and your energy...
  3. LoL...that's great!!! Last week I was raising my hand in class and grabbing for a PC with my right hand...now that must have looked odd... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  4. because they don't like to think about dying. personally, if there is anything left in serviceable condition - take it and burn the rest. To tell you the truth, even if you were injured, and consented to donate, there is a very small number of individuals who sustain injuries that will allow donation. Plus, if the organs are not harvested in time, they literally go bad! I know that my parents and friends are aware of my wishes and when it comes down to it, the consent is left to the next of kin, even if you signed and consented on your drivers license. Some people are also afraid of having their organs removed without all appropriate measures taken to prevent brain death. I'm sorry to hear about your situation...... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  5. I'm with you!!! I can understand the positive and negative aspects of increasing the registration fees!! I worked as a volunteer last year because I couldn't jump due to an injury...Believe me, some of the extras you pay now(which do kind of suck) will be major benefits in the long run (more permanent facilities)!!!
  6. It is completely understandable as to why you are nervous about jumping at a new DZ. I went through AFF at two different DZ's. One in IL and the other in FL, so I know how you feel, and yes, I would write the DZ if you have any questions, do some homework, like check out the website. Other than that, don't worry!! Enjoy
  7. I'm with Andy on this one, I wouldn't take any chances. You may end up getting a good deal on a camera and getting screwed with shipping, or have the thing fall apart on ya!!! Good luck!!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  8. LoL...Hmmmm...pineapple and ham...Yummmmm...
  9. Congratulations!!! I bought a full face as my first helmet, but then got into freeflying and bought a freefly helmet, so it all depends. If I were you, I would continue renting gear for a while. See what you are into, and maybe take a look at other gear and ask around (that is most important!!) Have fun on your first solo!!!!! BEEEEEEEEER!!!
  10. LoL...I am Sindy St. James...hmmm...I prefer the method of your mother's maiden name and the name of your first pet, in that case, I would go by the name of Lady Hand...LoL ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  11. Glad you were ok and that you learned from the experience!
  12. I was told by a DZO if I landed without both handles missing after a cutaway, I would recieve a beating within an inch of my life. Plus, no matter what the experience level, I believe that you shouldn't take chances when you have a malfunction. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  13. ROFLAO!!! I am definitely passing these on to friends!!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  14. Ooooooh, ATARI!!!! I used to play Atari and Nintendo games all the time as a kid!!!! My bro still has the system, man, it looks like an antique!!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  15. Just don't load up on too much of the norepinephrine and you will be fine...... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  16. My family would make the annual Christmas trip to Louisiana to visit family(which is severely large!), and everyone gathers at my grandparents house where we would partake in a gigantic feast and fresh sweets, like divinity, pralines, and fudge, pies, eww, great, now I'm hungry, time for lunch... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  17. OUCH!!! I had a dream like that pretty recently. Usually, I have dreams about tracking through the sky, or of malfunctions. This time though, I was base jumping, and I have never been on a base jump before, and promptly slammed into the ground. The thing is, I could feel my body making initial contact with the ground. Freaked me out! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  18. LoL...Sorry, dude, that really sucks! Just talk to your JMs and see about video. Plus, you might want to get a larger more permanent log book...(Oh, my God, its like the equivalent of your dog eating your homework in skydiving... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  19. I am a turbine brat and admit it! However, in a couple of months I will be going to jump at a DZ with only a 182 right now...So for me, this will definitely be a treat!!!^_^ (Scary part is that I am learning how to fly a 172...hmmm...)
  20. You plan and dream...Unfortunately...@_@...'cause that is what I am doing... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
  21. How much you remember or forget, really depends on the person. I went 8 months without jumping, had a more or less 2 hour ground school and reviewed emergency procedures and was back up in a week. The jump went great and I had a blast! I was severely nervous though! The key is to relax and think! You know what you have to do on each and every jump, so do it! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Fly the friendly skies...^_^...})ii({...^_~...
