I'm a civilian, but work for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, in the Bureau of Fire Prevention and Public Safety. Dunno if I count or not, for what you were asking, tho.

baby oil in a bubble bath also works wonders. add the bubbles when you turn on the water, but wait til you're about to get in before you add oil, cause the oil will make the bubbles not form.

why is a collapsible pilot chute better than a non collapsible one? -
best body lotion out there is from bath and body works. from their spa collection. its called "lay it on thick" and its WONDERFUL. They also have a good face cream, but I forget what its called. I use clinique's moisturizing lotion on my face, and it works great.

hehe... that's a good one!

I have some from my credit union that have national parks pictures. Another one from that checking account had various sky scenes, sunsets, stars, clouds, etc. My checks from myh regular bank are just plain old WAMU blue.

I've brought back-up to a break-up before, but the third party was NEVER someone I was seeing (I've never, ever cheated on anyone!) and knew full well what they were getting into. They offered to come with me out of concern for my safety, and with good reason.

no, its not real. its an internet forward thats been floating around for a long time.

not rushing... I won't buy til I find something I really like. BUT... I really HATE having a day of jumping cost me a minimum of $85.00 for one jump ($20 jump tix and $65.00 gear rental). I'd jump more often if I could just go down there, shell out $20 or $40 and get one or two jumps in to stay current.

it looks like an attack to me too, AggieDave. and I've never even BEEN to Texas.

I've been looking for used, but somewhat new stuff. I found a container that was 10 yrs old (little old for my liking) that fit me well and would hold a 190 max. However, it came with the Raven -M reserve, and I've just heard too many rotten things about that canopy to be real comfortable with it, plus, the main was an OLD PD 190 that wasn't worth much anyway. What I need is something with a 16 in. lift web that'll hold a 190 canopy, maximum. Would like something made in the last 5 yrs or so.

actually, we are friends. I was friends with both of them initially. then they separated. he told me they were divorced, that the divorce was final. didn't occur to me to verify this with her, I was closer friends with him anyway, and I knew she wasn't living with him at the time he and I were dating. Apparently, they got back together, and he didn't tell me this and kept seeing me, and three months later, he fessed up to her, and then called me and broke it off. She was as upset about the deception as I was, and didn't blame me in the slightest. he was honest and told her that he'd told me that their marriage was very much over. I ran into her at a karate tournament a few months back, and we were having coffee like old friends (and, of course, comparing notes on Billy).

now that's just stupid!

I had a boyfriend of almost a year break up with me over where I stacked the newspaper pile. ROFLMAO. If its that big a f-ign deal, just tell me, and I'll take em out and toss em every day instead of once a week (they were stacked in a very out of sight, out of the way place, btw). No biggie. However, this example was typical. One of those guys who kept everything inside and never told me when I was driving him nuts until it was driving him nuts, in which case he started a big fight by being rude about it, instead of just asking politely. I had a guy break up with me because his wife didn't like us seeing each other! (he told me he was divorced! turns out NOT).

the report attributed the cause of the 1994 collapse to too much water in the soil. This problem was addressed in subsequent bonfires.

it is reasonable for students to trust university officials that a school sponsored event is safe.
-
I'm still researching gear. if you had your choice of container, which would you go with and why? I'm especially interested in riggers' opinions on this.
-
and because of the actions of their student leaders and school administrators, they had no reason to believe that event would not be safe.

if she's talking "sexy" on the phone, you could file a harassment complaint. it doesn't have to be directed AT you for it to be harassment. It just has to create an uncomfortable work situation.

freefall is such a strange feeling on a first jump... I don't think I'd have noticed 360s either. lol.

if it wasn't directly the fault of the students killed, and ONLY their fault, it doesn't qualify for a Darwin. There may not have been very intelligent choices made by students, student government, and administration, but since the students building the fire pile can not be considered directly at fault, they don't qualify for a Darwin award.
-
Irrelevant. According to the report, no evidence was found that any single error by an individual led to the collapse of the Bonfire. From reading the report completely, it seems as though the fault lies with University officials, who failed to ensure a solid design and proper safety protocol. The fault did not lie with the students who were killed, therefore disqualifying them from receiving a Darwin award. Period.
