ask your sister to talk to her friend and okay it. she may associate skydiving with death, which would be bad. but, she may think of it as her husband died doing something he loved, and be okay with dating a skydiver. its all in the perspective.

Tattoo & Piercing Care...All you will ever need to know!
Nightingale replied to Paige's topic in The Bonfire
And also, how long before you can have sex again? (both oral and traditional) Pammi Pammi- You probably don't have to wait the full amount of healing time, since you're married and therefore don't really have to worry about the whole bodily fluid exchange thing. Piercers get really concerned about the whole "disease transmission through open wound" thing, which you don't have to worry about. Just wait til you feel comfortable, and then be careful, and pick a position where there isn't a lot of friction there. Couple of my friends have had this piercing, and they all love it....perhaps next time I find myself single, I will find myself with some new jewelry... I've been thinking about that piercing for about six years now. now, I just have to decide if I want a new piercing, or three jump tickets! Its funny... the more you get into skydiving, the more you look at the cost of things as jump tickets... my dad just spent $200 on a TV and I was like "DAMN! that's ten jump tickets!" -
I'd vote for Madalyn, but spelled Madeline. Otherwise she's going to have her name misspelled on everything... trust me. I've got a normal name spelled weird, and everyone gets it wrong because they all think they know how to spell it, and never check to verify it.

yup. Jumped it friday. Its easier to land than the spectre. My first landing would've been a stand-up, but I didn't have my left legstrap snug enough, and it slid down my leg a bit in freefall, so under canopy, I couldn't completely straighten my leg for landing. Did a one footed PLF. Second jump was fine, fixed the legstrap issue, not standup landing, but almost...

In light of what happened to the folks down at Elsinore, I wanted to bring this up: If you are a renter, please get renters' insurance. If you are a homeowner, you probably already have insurance, but if you don't, please get it. Renters' insurance will cover all your personal property inside your unit in case of fire, flood, act of god, or other disaster not caused by you. If the pipes break or you have a slab leak or something, your landlord DOES NOT have to pay for your personal property. You can have your rig and anything else you like specifically written into the policy as covered. Many times such insurance will also cover theft or damages not on the actual rental property (ie: dropzone). You can call whoever does your car insurance. Mosttimes they will be able to insure you, and if not, they can refer you to someone who can. Renters' insurance in California typically runs $15 - $30 a month. If you think about the cost of your rig, clothing, electronics, computers, that really isn't a whole lot to pay.

I visited St. Petersburg, and have several friends that live there. Very nice town near Tampa.

Five of my family members have had it, all from the same doctor in Pasadena, CA. They are all VERY happy with it. Please note: Lasic, probably more than any other surgery, is very much a you-get-what-you-pay-for thing. Please, don't let cost influence which doctor you go to, because your results are usually in direct proportion to the amount of experience your doctor has. Everyone in my family has paid about $1000.00 at least. I do know several who went cheaper places (Laser Eye Center and others) and they were not nearly as happy with their results. Expect dry eyes and halos while the cornea flap heals. Side effects do get better in time, and you WILL have side effects. Driving at night will be difficult. If your surgery was performed well, the effects should go away within six months to a year. What I can tell you is that everyone I know who has had the surgery has not regretted it.

Setting up the paypal with Elsinore's bank account would probably not be the best idea, simply because the business would then have to declare that as income and pay taxes on it. It might work better if donations went directly to the instructors and DZO instead of through the DZ's bank account, just for tax reasons.

Michele- I have a merchant account set up with paypal. What it lets me do is accept credit cards via a website, and use a "shopping cart" type thing. To get money out of a paypal account, you have to link it to a regular bank account, which can take a while. Mine is already all set up, and I would be happy to accept donations for Elsinore through this website. www.nightingalesnest.net/elsinore.htm

I have been cheated on too many times to ever want to inflict that pain on anyone else. Therefore, I do not, and have never, cheated. If I don't want to be with someone, I break up with them and move on. Cheating accomplishes nothing but hurt for everyone involved.

Well, I put cash down on the rig, so ITS MINE!!!!! I just don't get to bring it home til beginning of february, because my stupid school f-ed up student loan paperwork, so I had to pay for classes out of pocket. I will have cash to pay the balance when the loan comes through. However, I do get to visit the rig and jump it whenever I like. It just can't leave the property of Skydive Elsinore til I pay it off. so, looks like I'll be jumping at elsinore exclusively for the next three weekends... anyone wanna jump with me??

You guys could do what the parents in my martial arts classes do on tournament days... Alternate babysitting. Get a group of parents together, five or six, and alternate saturdays. One saturday, five of you jump while one parent babysits and takes the kids to sea world, or the movies, or whatnot. Next saturday, switch parents. develop a set rotation. Each parent pays for the activity for their kid, if it costs money. Going to the park and renting a video seems to be most popular though. Its worked great for the martial arts parents. don't see why it wouldn't work for skydiving parents.

is there an address where we could send cards? can we send flowers? -
it seems like speed is getting confused with time here... 90 miles per hour is a measurement of speed an hour is a measurement of time one really doesn't have a whole lot to do with the other. if the driver in question has an infinite amount of time to finish the race, there is no reason why he couldn't up his speed on the last half of the race to make his average speed equal to 180 miles per hour. the race has a finite distance, not a finite time period.

I'm not sure where you live, but I used to work in property management in california, so this is california information. how to move out without paying the termination fee: 1. don't pay your rent. they will send you a "three day pay or quit" notice. move out within three days. They can charge you an "improper notice" fee of one month's rent, but can't charge the termination fee, which is usually more. please note, this is a hit on your credit, and can make it harder to find an apartment elsewhere. 2. talk to them. have them put you on notice to move and try to lease the place. tell them you will not move until two weeks before the new person is moving in. they may waive the termination fee under these circumstances. get it in writing. 3. find someone on your own who wants to lease the apartment, who qualifies. add them on as your roommate, on the lease. a day or two later, have them sign a "roommate release form" to release you from the lease. the apartment is now his, and you're free to go.
