    Ummmm... the "other ways" that credit card companies and insurance agencies have to recover are to raise rates. That means that you, me, and everyone else pay more out of pocket if we want to use their services. Are you suggesting that it's okay for someone to steal as long as the cost of the theft is distributed amongst a lot of people but not okay if it just affects one person? And no, I'm not suggesting that the OP stole anything. I think he shows a lot of backbone by simply asking his question here and I truly hope things work out for him. Owned by Remi #?

    I'm not active duty any more and I don't see why it would matter. If I had been asked to do such a thing when I was still in the military, I'd have refused. If I'd ended up in the brig, I'd have lived with that consequences. They don't remove your brain at a MEPS. Owned by Remi #?

    The gear was "stolen" from the credit card company assuming they covered the unauthorized purchase. The gear probably belongs to the credit card company's insurance company now.     You are thinking way too far ahead. Picking just the right canopy is going to depend a lot on how well you do in your training and what you come to prefer once you've jumped a few different types of canopies. You might find that you prefer something else. That said, you're probably in the right ballpark thinking about something like a Pilot 188 but there are so many more choices with different flight characteristics. Make sense? It's probably also a good idea for now to leave whether or not you intend to downsize out of the equation. Pick a canopy that's right for you when the time comes. If you end up feeling more comfortable on a larger canopy at first then go with that. If you change your mind later you shouldn't have any problem selling a larger canopy. I've gone from a 210 to a 150 over the course of 6 years and that first canopy was the only one I've paid for out of pocket. The rest were all horse trades. Owned by Remi #?
