    Genetic mutation isn't the issue of concern. The fact that they have a much higher likelihood of possessing and passing on negative recessive genetic traits is the issue. Now, imagine homosexuality is caused by a genetic trait and a mother has that recessive trait but the father does not. There's a pretty good chance that 2 of their children may also possess that recessive trait. Those 2 siblings have children and... ...BAM... soon we've got little gay kids everywhere.     There's nothing anywhere in any USPA recommendation I've ever seen that mentions training a student to do anything other than cutaway a main that won't fly in a straight line with both toggles released and the canopy in full flight. I think that's what Pops is saying and I totally agree. If you didn't come up with the "shoulder level" rule out of thin air, then one of the (how many is it, hundreds or possible just 1 or 2?) instructors you know has come up with out of thin air in that sense. It's bad advice for a new jumper. It introduces too much grey area into the decision process at that stage of training. Owned by Remi #?

    Absolutely true. In the mean time, it's good to (IMO) keep trying to present the other side of the coin for the whuffos and lawyers participating in and reading this thread. One whuffo can attempt to lay blame at the feet of the AAD manufacturer and if no one tries to add an element of reality to his rants, any number of other readers outside the community of people who understand both the risks and the joys of skydiving will assume he's correct. Is something that is perfect really perfect if it can be rendered imperfect by an external imperfect force? Can a perfect external hammer exert enough perfect force to render a perfect playdoh sphere imperfect when the play-doh sphere is perfect to begin with? Seriously. The premise that your argument started with was that a perfect being might only be truly perfect if they were able to be imperfect of their own free will.
