Yep, life is good. Yesterday I had an interview for a position in a small computer consulting firm doing programming (fantastic opportunity!!), everything they do is custom, from the ground up. well... I got the job! hehehe, bought tix to FL yesterday too... life is too good! Jen Arianna Frances

You can also call the USPA and ask for some help with that. They were very helpful when I asked around for some info regarding medical qualifications and jumping. I spoke with the ever knowledgable Mr. Peek, who put me in touch with a Dr. in my general area who spoke with my doctor and through that I was able to get my 'clearances'. Best of luck, Jen Arianna Frances

aww - thats a really nice gift. It's the small, inexpensive, thoughtfilled gifts that mean so much more. When I was younger my dad's cousin had a company got me to sell Golden Books to my friends - I guess you could call it my first job. I got 10x's my allowance of $.25 for each book. I thought that was pretty cool! Enjoy the memories! Jen Arianna Frances

Thats a great song! I love it. I first heard 'I Grieve' on the City of Angels sound track - when he puts things on sound tracks you never see them again, but was happy to see that one turn up. What a great song... What a great artist. *get all reminiscent now* Jen Arianna Frances

Uh oh - I'm screwed then My experience: 97 - graduate from HS Fall 97 - 98 - U of North Texas - full time Fall 98 - end of 99 - nothing, worked Fall 99 - Spring 2002 - part-time school (nights) Fall 2002 - Spring 2003 - took a break so I could save money for my wedding Spring 2003 - Spring 2004 - part-time school (nights) Fall 2004 - present - full time school. I'll finish my AS degree and start my BS degree part-time in the fall. I'll do part time so my work will pay for it. Switched my major 3 times in there too.... I'll finish all of my schooling for this degree without a dime in debt to pay back. I refuse to go into debt for my education. My best friend graduated with a teaching degree from Boston University - great to have a degree when you have over $60,000 in debt to go along with it. She took a job in a private school just north of Boston that paid $23,000/yr. Wasn't enough for her to have her own place, a used car and then pay just the interest on her loans. I wasn't going to do that - so I went part time (taking 2 or 3 classes a semester at night) and my work paid 100% of it. If I play my cards right, my first job will pay $35 - $45k/ yr. and they'll pay for me to get my next degree too. *keeping my fingers crossed my interview for paid intership next semester goes well tomorrow morning* I can understand what you mean - but alot of it has to do with mindset. I always knew I'd get a degree, but I also know its not a rush to get it. I used to hold myself to a timeline to get such and such done by such and such a time - that was crap for me. Hell... if I can get my masters by the time I'm 32 I think that'll be great (that gives me 6 years), and if it doesn't happen by then, thats ok too. But I know it will happen, just a matter of when. I'll give ya that! I have my finals the week of the 20th - and grades are due the 24th. Sux to be a professor dealing with the holiday stuff and getting everything graded in time. I feel sorry for my JAVA teacher, she had 4 classes this semester with finals all the same week Jen Arianna Frances

I've got it easy this semester 1. Macro economics 2. Calculus 3. Programming Design My other 5 classes didn't have a final - WoO HoO! Jen Arianna Frances

It's on the Afro Celt Sound System CD: Volume 3: Further in Time. It came out in 2001 - got a bit of radio play too, which is how I found it. I started to get mad that the new PG album was released I didn't know about it - only to find out it wasn't him He does alot of great work with alot of fantastic folks. He's worked with the Blind Boys from Alabama and they accompanied him on this last tour - what an AMAZING group of guys - they were just incredible!! Jen Arianna Frances

Realistic Costs to get into the sport?
mailin replied to alphawolf's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Before I get gear (minus a jumpsuit, which is a xmas gift this year). I'll be spending $7k in a matter of a few months. But that also includes 2 tunnel camps and AFF in Florida (I live in Rhode Island). Then enough jumps to get my A before I leave there. Its not cheap, but it's the only way I can do it. Jen Arianna Frances -
Nah - you'd have to listen to it, very depressing/slow sounding IMO. Unfortunately I can't find a sample of the song on any sites.... I could throw it up on mine... but I think thats like, illegal now-a-days Jen Arianna Frances

I've loved Peter Gabriel since his time with Genesis and of course I had to get his most recent album (UP) the day it came out (and attended two of the shows on its tour too ). But I never really listed to the lyrics. I have THE DROP playing on MP3 at the moment and caught the first two lines... Pretty neat song if it didn't sound so depressing Makes you wonder if he jumped before? Jen Arianna Frances

Oh wait, I found it! October 11 huh? Is that scorpio? If so, thats mine too Jen Arianna Frances

Would you take an extra course for extra $$ from financial aid?
mailin replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in The Bonfire
Hey Angela, Do you have to take C++ or can it be any programming laungauge? If its the later - you may want to skip on C++ unless you've taken a programming concepts class prior - as you may find it confusing. My first class was VB 6 (I think most only offer VB.NET now, which is considerably different), and either that or VB.NET would be the best to start with IMO. Sounds like you'll have your hands full with the others too. Good luck, Jen Arianna Frances
